Today's Fur Seal Is: Woolly Caterpillar
Was riding the streetcar home today when three things all smashed together in my head at once. These things were:
1. Space marines probably having 'roid gut because of all the genetically engineered extra organs
2. Invader Zim shrieking "More organs means more human!"
3. White Zombie's "More Human Than Human."
its not reccomended amd probably not legal but in a pinch a coyote can be your plus one to most events
"Can't Stop Feeling," Franz Ferdinand
So boy, you're down and alone And your soul's broken again But you can't stop moving No, you won't stop moving along
nolan odyssey "discourse" is so tiring bc its the least consequential movie to manufacture a culture war over. "oh no they made a mediocre adaptation of the odyssey" dude we've been doing that for almost 3 thousand years
i always see “tag fav fruit” posts but i’ve never seen a fav veg post so rb & tag your favourite vegetable
Cruising along minding my business when one minor thing goes wrong and suddenly I am painfully aware of how thin the thread I am hanging on by is.
Negative. Very negative.
I think I might need to repaint the brown on the Saturnine version of my Praetor's hair. It's an army painter color- I think brigandine brown -right now, while the jump pack version is rhinox hide. While rhinox hide is warmer, it somehow also looks darker, which makes it a better contrast for the grey streaks and the cool tones of the armor both.
A thing to do when we get home.
There, now his models match better.
Alexander Marius Taurinus, both jump pack and Saturnine terminator versions. Maybe Great Crusade vs Heresy, since his jump pack version looks a lot younger and more optimistic, hah.
Whenever I get ravenously hungry, eat something, and then my stomach gets upset, I kinda want to pull out my entire GI tract and slap it around. You. YOU asked for this!!!
While walking home from our date last night, my spouse spotted and pointed out to me a really cute skunk and raccoon, like 200 meters apart, the skunk and then the raccoon as we walked down the road. The skunk was on a very well lit yard, and I could make out its markings very clearly. White on its head and the tip of its tail, two perfect white lines down its back. Like the Platonic ideal of skunk. The raccoon was in a much dimmer yard, kinda hiding behind a bush, but I saw it walk out a bit. Adorable.
For whatever reason, I never saw raccoons in either California or Washington, and I hardly ever see them even Toronto where they're ubiquitous, so it's always way more exciting to me when I do see one than makes any sense to locals. I love those fuzzy little bastards.

Our anniversary was on Wednesday, but I run a d&d game that my spouse is a player in on Wednesdays, so we did our anniversary date tonight. We went and saw Project Hail Mary, and both really enjoyed it, and now we're having a lovely Nepalese meal on the outdoor patio of a really nice little local place while a live Nepalese band plays. It's actually turned out far nicer and romantic than I planned, since I wasn't expecting live music. Hell yeah. I am going to get a good grade in husband.
Playing Civ 6 as Canada, getting increasingly frustrated by foreign espionage and aggression against my city-state allies, having to remind myself that I'm Wilfred goddamned Laurier, not Trajan or Genghis Khan:
"I am NOT a barbarian, I am a DIPLOMANCER. I will RESOLVE this PEACEFULLY."
i made a post like this before but I can't find it now. so. I'll just redo it.
What's the first "big news story" you remember from when you were a kid?
It's something I love to ask mixed-aged groups sometimes because I think it's really interesting to see the responses. I've gotten answers from the Olympics of [whatever year] to Watergate to more recent stuff from my niblings.
My first news thing I remember is the OJ Simpson trial. I vaguely remember watching the news with my grandparents before that, but that's the first story I remember, in part because my second grade teacher had us go play so she could watch the verdict 😂
The Challenger Disaster. I was in first grade.
i am terminally A Sucker for characters who have a towering and generally earned ego about their own ability and absolutely no self-worth about themselves as a person at all. intoxicating combo.
Ran a better dnd session this week, people seemed engaged throughout. Got to finally give the last of the player-specific iconic weapons that level up with them to our paladin, a lightsaber sun blade
I gave it (and all the other player-specific items) the three-step dormant/awakened/ascendant treatment from the dragon book or one of the critical role books or wherever it came from, so as they gain levels it's going to be sort of a blend between a sun blade and a holy avenger but for now it's "only" a +2 sun blade.
