women didn’t begin shaving their armpits regularly until the first half of the 1900s.

Women didn’t start shaving their legs until the ‘40’s!

And don’t get me started on pubic hair.

I see all this wonderful art of the women of the red dead universe perfectly hairless. Even the game models are, from what I’ve seen, but correct me if I’m wrong.

And not only was shaving something nobody really did in that era, but they’re outlaws for gods sake! You think they have the resources for shaving supplies on the run? No! You think that the women OR men have access to such regular bathing to shave? No!

so even the characters as princely as Mary Gillis Linton would’ve had natural armpit, leg, and pubic hair.

we see plenty of models in the game where armpits are exposed on the women and none of them have body hair, despite having dark hair.

so when I see a piece of fanart that depicts a woman from this game with no natural hair (provided it’s not a modern au or anything) it pisses me off. you think John marston cares that Abigail had natural armpit hair? NO! Because everybody has it!

the worst part is, people draw all of the men with their appropriate amount of body hair. And not the women. I think that is sexist.

look, guys. If you wanna draw the girls without it, that’s fine. When you’re making nsfw art, sometimes that’s what you want. We can draw whatever we want. I’m not saying you have to, but it’s history.

but this is a PSA: GIVE THE WOMEN THEIR BODY HAIR!!!

I wanted to draw fluffy scenes because... yeah. So was looking for a suitable song for this. Honourable mentions was "Last Pale Light in the West", which fits really well... then I thought about this song

The core of this whole idea is the shot of Arthur riding home after the torture and falling into the hands of the gang :)

very confused about "the quiet are restless" section because my original vision was this:

oh yes the first vision board - readable (subjective) from top to bottom, left to right.... with some exceptions. thing that didn't make it was arthur actually replaced by a strung up deer in the basement.

trying to figure out lineart style that might work...

then went with no lines instead, ha hahhahahah

and here's a shot that I kind of missed. Would have had arthur walking on the right, with smoke trailing behind him - and the two graves in the left panel. This is in "the cradle is burning" section

This video was edited in shotcut with the whole video split between 15 CSP files of about 10 seconds each to keep the animation layers from getting too bulky and the whole thing from crashing.

Charles Smith's hair is one of those optical illusion tricks of nature where you think you've figured it out and then it shifts one degree and becomes something completely different. I don't think people have ever been able to consistently agree on the length, the curl pattern and the texture. My own pieces end up different every single time and I constantly feel like I'm being gaslit into rediscovering what he even looks like.
