My little brother tried to kill himself yesterday. I’m crying as I write this. I don’t even know how to process anything I’ve been told in the past 24 hours. We got the call thinking he’d been in a car accident, but then we found out it had been an accident at his apartment. Turns out he took a shit ton of shrooms when he was all by himself and had a terrible trip. He thought he was dreaming, and he ended up using a pizza cutter to cut open his throat. We are so lucky he’s alive. Sometime during his trip he’d let his dog outside and the neighbors noticed and him running around and came to check on him(this is what we’ve heard at least) They called the police. If he hadn’t let his dog out he probably would have bled to death. I’m fucking bawling. I don’t even know what to say. He didn’t manage to hit anything important thank god, but he had to have surgery, and he’s going to have a scar across his throat. I’m so upset, we’d known he was lonely, but we had no idea it was this bad. I’m so fucking thankful that he’s alright and now he can get the help he needs. We don’t always get along, but I love him so much and I keep envisioning my little brother sad and alone in his apartment slicing his own throat open with a fucking pizza cutter and it kills me. Thank god he’s a fucking idiot and chose a pizza cutter because if he’d chosen a knife or razor I doubt he’d still be alive. I’m so fucking thankful but so sad and scared and I can’t collect my thoughts.
