Welcome To My Blog!

Whether you're here from my AO3 or from the great beyond, I'd like to welcome you to my blog page. This is mainly intended as a master-post detailing a few things about me, a list of my AO3 fanfics with hyperlinks, what you can expect from my blog -- so forth and so on. I'll probably edit this over time, so if you're ever unsure about something, this would be the post to consult.

IdleGlowingPixels is my unhinged (currently main) blog. I'm a multifandom writeblr account, mainly focused on fanfics for franchises with low fantasy, romance, and action (mainly superheroes, for some reason...?) elements. I also dabble a bit into horror, but usually I'm more interested in horror that's not super gruesome or disturbing.

I'm currently in the process of developing another writeblr blog specializing in my original works. When I complete it, I'll tag it here.

Monster High (2010)

Got into the franchise around late-G1 but didn't really get hyped about it until the pandemic || Gen 3 enjoyer almost solely for merchandise; I plan on watching the series but I'm scared I won't like it q-q I enjoyed the live-action movies tho || working on a G1-based AU with G3 elements I really like (ex. Twyla having ASD, nonbinary Frankie (though mine's a little different), etc.)

Miraculous Ladybug (2015)

I don't even know why I still care for this dumpster fire || I'm not continuing past Season 5, I'm sorry I can't do it no more q-q || I intend to make an AU fic rewriting the series in the future!

Five Nights At Freddy's (2014)

My only experience with the franchise is through YouTube || Personally consider the Steel Wool era not canon to the Scott Cawthon era, but do enjoy SW's games || If I do post about it outside of reblogs it's probably for personal thoughts on upcoming/newly released content, or for a Human AU I'm not planning on writing a fic for but I might post about here and there idk

Marsha P. Johnson allegedly died of suicide in 1992, and her death was never investigated. Even I, a mere prole, could catch the “she was murdered” vibes from the circumstances surrounding the discovery of her body.

Happy 4/13 everyone!!! It's the 17th Homestuck-iversary :D

Here's some variants of a Sollux sticker design I made (I posted the sketch a little while ago lol). Very very happy with how this turned out, I wanted to give my Sollux design a bit cooler of a shirt than just a plain-black shirt. He might not be any fashion icon like Kanaya but he can still be a bit of a diva haha!

The intended version is the red/blue gradient one, but I started with his standard color scheme just to see how it looked and I love it! In order for it to develop correctly for the gradient effect, I had to turn it greyscale, and it genuinely looks so good in greyscale that I figured I'd show off that version too.

I'd love to sell stickers of this design, I'm thinking 3" (tall) stickers? Maybe that's too large, I'll have to experiment. I can make stickers at home so I'd be down! For the gradient one I'd like to try adding a holographic film on top of the sticker to see what it looks like, but if it's too much then I'll leave it as is.

Definitely have some more sticker designs (Homestuck and other fandoms) in mind to make too, but they'll be slower to release since it's almost the end of the college semester and I'm pretty pressed for time. Gotta focus on having that strong finish and all!

In TADC, Disappearing Guy is the only red mannequin we see IIRC, and I think his whole gimmick could have been foreshadowing Caine's deletion since he just disappears once it happens and he's represented by the red AI in Ep 8's beginning, I don't really have anything to add other than if it was foreshadowing, it was peak

Did somebody else say "Homestuck characters in a Mirai Nikki/Future Diary AU?" No? Only me? Okay lol

This all started because I had the passing thought of, "Yo didn't Mirai Nikki's death royale have 12 players in it? Putting the beta sesh trolls in that would fuck," and now I'm 10 episodes into the anime in less than a week (I hadn't seen any of it since high school) and have 7/12 of the diary holder cast figured out

Aradia's association with time & time travel GREATLY affected my decision in her taking on Yuno's role, and Sollux being Homestuck's biggest introvert made me pick him for Yukiteru. He would be a lot less of a gullible wuss in comparison of course lol. I genuinely think once he'd play along with Aradia's obsession that the two would be basically unstoppable.

My list for who'd be who so far is as follows, these are the only ones I'm like almost definitive about:

Another old Pride25 sketch, this time it's for Ghoulia in my Monster High AU! (I think this is actually the first drawing of Ghoulia that I posted...which is crazy to me, I thought I'd drawn her more lol)

She's not entirely sure if she's interested in boys, or even girls, romantically. It had been bothering her for a while, but she mainly kept to herself about it. Then after opening up to her ghoulfriends, Cleo, being the goated bestie she is, gives Ghoulia some words of encouragement, telling her to take her time with figuring out her identity and that if she finds she doesn't want to pursue anyone romantically, life isn't all about romance anyways.

I've finally drawn Sollux with two sets of ears and don't hate it!! It's something I see in fan art all the time, and I made a point of continuing to try drawing him with them until I could get it to look peak. The ears a troll develops are a sexual dimorphism trait in my personal headcanon -- upward for male, downward for female -- and for quite some time I was thinking about the implications of that were I to include two sets of ears on him.

And while I thought about a lot of different ideas, I landed on the headcanon that he's intersex, mainly presenting masculine features. His upward ears are where he hears from, and his downward ears are underdeveloped, so they're pretty tiny in comparison to the average female troll's. Both sets are also connected to each other a little bit.

He was raised as a male, and identifies as such, explaining away the second set of ears to anyone curious as a simple mutation. He also had top surgery once he hit puberty, having a larger chest made him dysphoric, but nobody would know unless they saw him shirtless cause he doesn't talk about it.
