So I've been reading Fire Force by Atsushi Ohkubo and really enjoying it, but there is one part I don't quite understand.

Why does Tamaki, who is 17, represent sexiness, eroticism and sexual freedom? Now, her being 17 is a problem, but even if she wasn't, it still wouldn't make sense. Her biggest struggle is that she is accidentally groped or stripped without her consent, and when I imagine sexiness, eroticism and sexual freedom, I imagine someone doing it with their own free will and enjoyment, like Hibana or even Captain Obi would be better. Not someone who doesn't consent, not someone immediately embarrassed or ashamed and not someone cursed. I understand what Atsushi is trying to say about how sexual freedom and eroticism are needed for humanity to procreate and continue living, but I believe it should be an adult first off, and second off, someone who consents and happily expresses their sexuality.

I was also really disappointed in how all of her fights ended in fan service

!Spoilers for the movie Obsession!

I finished watching the movie Obsession, and it was amazing! 100% reccomend that anyone who likes horror should watch it, but on the drive home was wondering two things.

How different would the movie have been if the gender roles were reversed and Nikki made the wish about Bear? I personally believe that the story would have been way more violent from the beginning. Yes, Nikki was violent, but she was a lot more self-destructive and didn't act violently until the end because her feelings weren't reciprocated the same, and she wanted to please Bear. She took out all her rage, violent rage, on other people. I believe that if the wish had been made about Bear, his actions would have been much darker than Nikki's, and much of the horror would have been directed at Nikki instead of watching it as Bear did. I mean, even without the wish, Bear didn't care about the real Nikki's feelings and anatomy, so I'm curious how it would have gone if the genders had reversed. If obsession differs by gender.

If the One Wish Willow can be used only once per person, would Niki, at the end of the movie, be able to use it because, technically, the person who made the original wish was not her? Would Nikki be able to undo everything that Bear did, or is one wish per body?

I’ve just finished watching Aliens: Romulus for the second time, and I’ve always wondered what would have happened if Kay didn’t push away and reject ‘her’ child?

If she could have somehow accepted this child, would it in return have been less xenomoprh and more human?

The reason I’m curious is because it is a hybrid of xenomorph and human, and the way it approached Kay it seemed like it was seeking affection from its mother.

What would win over all, nature or nurture?

It's really important to me that we all realise Lo'ak struggled to get an Ikran and still struggles to have a strong connection with his own Ikran, like Neytiri or Neteyam, but managed to connect with a Tulkun who became his spirit brother, AND managed to break the Tulkun's decade-long tradition of killing.

Lo'ak was always supposed to be Metkayina and live on the reefs; he was never meant to stay in the forest, and Eywa knew that. I believe that if he had stayed in the forest, despite it being his original home, he would have always been out of place.

I mean, I call my cat "baby", "sweetie", "my love", and I also use those nicknames with my boyfriend. Honestly, I think the simple fact that one of the nicknames he gives Varang is the same name as his Ikran isn't enough to say that he sees her as less (at least, in my opinion).

Well I did it to my ex, it was definitely because I didn’t respect him!

Just kidding, but I do think with who Quaritch is a character, a coloniser and someone determined to kill his enemy/sons adopted father that him referring to both his ‘pet’ and ‘partner’ with the same name, even if it is a pet name could be showing us an interesting dynamic between Varang and Quaritch, one that is not equal. And I know some people have said that they have romantic feelings for each other, but unfortunately loving someone does not always equate to respecting or seeing someone as an equal.

Anyway I could be completely wrong, but I notice it and thought it was interesting.

I also forgot to add the way he talks about Na’vi people also makes me think that despite his romantic feelings to Varang he will never see her as an equal. I mean he talks about the Na’vi with dehumanising language that makes them seem like animals.

Does anyone else think it's interesting that Quaritch refers to his Ikran, which he definitely views as a pet and tool, not as an equal and to use to his benefit, as a Cupcake, and he also refers to his 'girlfriend' Varang as a Cupcake too???

He may like Varang, but he will never see her as an equal.

I wish I could draw, because I have a fascinating body-horror Avatar comic about the RDA's unrelenting desire for humans to breathe the Pandora air, and all the implications and consequences that would follow and the one time it worked. The one time it worked is not Spider, but someone else the RDA would be hunting down

It would be really cool if she were a lab-grown baby from Jake Sully's human DNA and another human's DNA. This would technically make them Jake's only real biological child, since his children are actually his nieces and nephews, since his avatar was made with his brother's DNA 

I also think that would make them a really good bargaining chip for the RDA, who knows how important family is to Jake.

WAIY KIRI IS NARRATING?! I THOUGHT MY BOY LO'AK WAS FINALLY GOING TO HAVE SCREEN TIME 💔💔 don't get me wrong I love Kiri but I was really hoping for LO'AK as we barely had him in the 3rd movie 😭

Yes Kiri will be narrating the future movies. I was also really hoping it would be Lo’ak, I really like Kiri too, but they built Lo’ak up to seem like he was going to Jake’s successor, so I’m really sad that it won’t happen. And yes I wish there had been more of him in this movie, I was mostly hoping that him and Jake would become closer, and really reconcile after Neteyam’s death. But then it raises bigger questions of what was the point of killing off Neteyam when his death was clearly suppose to force Lo’ak to grow, but if he’s not the successor of Jake’s story and going to be pushed aside in the future movies then his death seems meaningless. His death hasn’t had the same impact on other characters stories as it has on Lo’ak. Like obviously his death is sad for everyone, but it was done specifically for Lo’ak to grow and develop, and if we aren’t going to witness that then what was the point.

I know that Kiri is a super interesting character because she’s a clone of Grace and has a unique connection with Eywa, but I was really hoping the next narrator would continue to be Lo’ak, I mean I thought they were building him up to be the future narrator for the next movies.

It just felt like they planned on making Lo’ak the successor of Jake’s story.

Am I the only one a little disappointed?
