Shipping two characters on a tv show, such as AoS, is obviously a very passionate thing. But it seems hate-shipping is also a thing and I really don’t see the point of constantly expressing hate towards a relationship between two fictional characters.

Sure, not everyone is going to like the same thing when it comes to a tv show or ships and that’s cool. We’re human after all.

But isn’t it easier to be passionate about something you love instead? Isn’t it also nicer to be passionate about something you love? Why be so bitter about a ship?

I love AoS overall. It was a very well made, high quality show with interesting characters and storylines. Yeah, there were some things I didn’t like for whatever reason—some ships I didn’t like etc. But I bet, unless you know me personally, you couldn’t necessarily tell what all of those things I didn’t like were.

Why is S5 so often favoured as the ‘season final’ over S7?

And why does S6 and 7 not exist to some people? Weren’t you happy that AoS got renewed or something?

Sure S5 is a fine ending. But everyone is so…sad, lonely, dead etc. At least in S7 everyone has found happiness in themselves, they’re at peace etc.

Oh yay the Dousy was “rushed” argument has come back alive again. Maybe it never died, I don’t know.

If someone could explain to me how exactly they’re rushed (and what is wrong with that even if they were) I’d be grateful. Because they met, they kissed (however long after they met) and then one year later (yes ONE FUCKING YEAR LATER) they’re together.

As if people irl don’t sometimes kiss within hours of meeting each other.

Yes that one year later happened off screen, but pretty sure some Staticquake stuff happened off screen too? Like, I haven’t watched S3 in a while, but weren’t they just suddenly together near the start of that season?

Personally for me and I’m saying this as someone who used to love Dousy and still loves Staticquake. I think the its rush argument is valid for BOTH ships. Dousy was just a little more but I totally understand they didn’t have a lot of time Sousa was in 10 episodes. I just felt like the ship wasn’t fully developed/necessary. I know it always seems like I’m attacking people when I share my side it’s just I feel like a lot of Dousy shippers are very passionate and prideful of this ship that when people have a different opinion they always hit back with everything they have and ever argument. Like people are allowed to just not like something. I don’t really care if you don’t like Lincoln or Staticquake but I feel like Dousy fan alway need a reason for someone not liking Dousy.

Of course fans are allowed to not like particular ships, but when people come along and say negative things like Dousy was “rushed” (like that’s a bad thing?) or “weren’t necessary”—of course Dousy fans are gonna defend that.

I don’t see many/if any Dousy fans having a go at ships they don’t like (although I will say my social media is mostly limited to here and Twitter/X).

While I am on my mini rant-page, something else that I have seen before (and lately) is “Sousa was just there for Daisy” or “Sousa was only there to give Daisy a happy ending”. Reducing him to just a love interest—this seems to happen to many characters though, not only Sousa.

I never realised that Sousa being “there for Daisy” was such a bad thing. Sorry, but did Daisy not deserve someone to “be there” for her like he was? Did she (and Sousa) not deserve a happy ending? 🙄

Sorry but “Sousa wasn’t needed for the plot” is such an annoying, and not to mention negative, statement to make.

Whether or not Sousa was needed for the plot, he was a damn fine addition to S7 and it was fucking good to see the character (and Enver Gjokaj) again after Agent Carter ended. And I am thankful to JedMo for including him!

I don’t ship that many fictional characters, but the amount of dislike/hate I see for Daisy + Sousa is actually insane.

The dislike/hate seems to mainly be from those who happen to like another ship involving one of the characters (say PeggySous for example).

Of course I’m not saying those people should like Dousy or anything. But perhaps it could be an idea to like the ships you actually enjoy and comment on them, instead of actively hating on one. There is already so much hate in this world, and why a non-toxic fictional ship like Dousy gets so much hate I’ll never know or understand.

And honestly, I have not seen many (if any) Dousy fans hating on other ships.

Imagine hating Steve Rogers because of his “ending”.

After everything we saw him go through—from The First Avenger to Endgame—as if he didn’t deserve to think about himself for once.

Going back in time doesn’t erase all he went through IMO. He lived that life. He got to know Bucky was still alive, he got to be an Avenger, he helped save the world several times etc.

After doing all of that, what had Steve missed out on? That dance with Peggy (and the chance to get to live his own life).

Daniel Sousa, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. + Agent Carter opinion

I don’t understand why or how people can think AoS Daniel Sousa is that different from AC.

Because to me he’s essentially the same character. Plus AoS is also EIGHT years later for him so he has also grown/matured in that time.

AoS Sousa is still: smart, caring, loyal, sarcastic, respectful.

Yeah he’s out of time and lots of things are new and/or confusing for him. But I just don’t get the hate AoS Sousa gets, and why there is an ‘AC Sousa’ and an ‘AoS Sousa’ when they are the same character (played by the same actor)!

The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D sub Reddit really is something else.

Someone commented that Sousa was just looking for a Peggy replacement and Daisy was just looking for a father figure replacement, and it actually feels insulting to the characters.

Sousa was just looking for a Peggy replacement? Who even says they got together anyway, and even if they did it’s clearly been years for him. It’s gross that some people think a character isn’t allowed to move on/get over another character (I’ve seen this with Daisy and Lincoln too 🤮). And if the user on Reddit thinks Sousa was looking for a Peggy replacement because of what he said to Daisy in the timeloop, they really don’t understand/weren’t listening to what he said.

Daisy was just looking for a father figure replacement? That is gross too on many levels, but especially because Daisy had romantic interest in Sousa. And if by replacing a father figure they mean Coulson, it’s not like Coulson (albeit LMD) was never going to be in her life anymore. Not only that, it’s implying Sousa was old enough to be her father? Yeah he’s mature in terms of he knows who he is (ie: he’s not immature. He’s definitely grown since Agent Carter days), but once again, this age thing really is so annoying.

This also brings me quickly to the Peggy/Daisy comparison. If you’re a fan of Daisy for example, comparing her to Peggy/saying she’s exactly like Peggy just seems odd to me. Some people think it’s a compliment and yeah maybe it is. However, Daisy is also her own character- yes she’s independent and strong like Peggy but so are many other female characters. Unlike Peggy though, Daisy actually wanted what Sousa offered. She wanted someone to support her and to be there to ‘pick her back up’. Peggy clearly never wanted that and that’s okay. But Peggy pushed Sousa away when he tried to help her, whereas Daisy did the opposite- she let him help her.
