M’s thoughts:
Favorite Quotes:
Favorite Scene: I was glad we finally got some more time with Crowley in this episode. I kept thinking, "Poor Crowley." I also wondered if there were any supporters for him left in Hell. I guess I got a glimpse of that in this episode. At first, I thought it was a trap when Crowley was offered a chance out of his doggie cage, but he took the chance and that was good. Then I wondered why he would take the demon to his secret stash of items.
And why all of a sudden is the "Hand of God" so popular?
When did Crowley get that staff? He could have used it way back in season 5. Anyway, I figured as sneaky as Crowley is he had a plan for taking any demon (supporter or not) to his storage area.
But a demon was able to use the Hand of God? I want to see the rules and procedures for this concept. Annnnd...Crowley escaped! Finally.
Final Notes:
- I loved the music for Casifer's opening scene.
- Dean's childlike enthusiasm is always endearing to watch.
- So Dean used his real name and flashed a "Bruce" FBI badge to Lawless?
- Good for Harley for turning down the deal and the speech to go with it.
G’s thoughts:
I was not at all sure how I would feel about this episode, but once again I ended up enjoying it thoroughly. In particular:
Dean fangirling was probably the cutest thing I've seen in a while
CASIFER AND CROWLEY. I thought all the plot arcs were balanced really well throughout the episode, I'm so happy Crowley escaped, and I guess we know now what Lucifer was looking for in the bunker when he first got out of the Cage….
We also learned that demons (or at least Crowley) can use the power of God without exploding, which is good
I really liked that they brought crossroads demons and hellhounds back into it. Yay continuity! I think there were a lot of interesting similarities between Gunner and the Winchesters, too, all of which give me so many feelings
Sidenote Dean probably shouldn't have given his real name to Gunner and then shown him a fake FBI badge with a completely different name on it
I was also somewhat surprised that the kid whose dad was killed didn't get more attention, especially since he was being set up as a parallel for the Winchesters. And this show is usually pretty mindful of the children involved in the cases.
It was a great episode and I am sad there is a three-week break, but very much looking forward to the rest of the season.

Favorite Quotes:
"Little early for Nazi trivia, especially before caffeine." - Dean
Favorite Scene:
The Casifer scenes. Supernatural has a wonderful and talented cast. I must repeat what I said before. Misha is doing a superb job at mimicking Mark's Lucifer as his own. Even the tone of his speech sounds like him.
Anyone else enjoy the completely soaked Casifer?
Final Notes:
Poor Crowley. I don't think he's quite given up yet.
Sam: "Use my soul." Me: Sam, shut up. Sam: "I trust you." Me: *face palm*
Well, at least they learned that Lucifer is possessing Cas and they have a new sigil to keep Casifer out of the Bunker for now.
G’s thoughts:
Well, I am not the biggest fan of time travel, or submarines, but I still really enjoyed this episode. The best bits were definitely the Casifer scenes, imo:
The expression on his face while he watched the brothers argue—chilling.
Poor Crowley. But interesting that Lucifer admitted to him he couldn’t beat the Darkness on his own.
Sam offering to let Casifer use his soul to power up—just, argh, no. I was so afraid he was going to accidentally end up saying yes.
Lucifer outing himself by cracking up
Shout out to the artists who have drawn comics of Lucifer bouncing off the hull of the submarine. I’ve laughed at each and every one I’ve seen.
I’m reserving judgment on Dean’s portion of the episode until we see the rest of the season, but for now:
I was very happy to have another mention of the Men of Letters and the Thule. Always excited when they make an appearance!
The glowy Hand of God power-up effect reminded me of what the trials did to Sam.
The last scene made me so sad for Dean, feeling like he can only be a witness to the fight against Amara, just as he was only a witness on the submarine.
Also some clever titling this episode—”The Vessel,” referring to the submarine, Cas as Lucifer’s vessel, and the piece of the Ark/Delphine as the vessel of God’s power. Also resonating with the idea of Sam and Dean as the “true vessels” of Lucifer and Michael.
This is apparently the season of whacky promos. Once again I have no clue what to expect from next week’s episode, but I’m both excited and terrified.

Favorite Quotes:
Well, I don't but my hairdresser does get some juicy tidbits from other people.
Favorite Scene: The rock, paper, scissor was the best! Go, Dean, go!
Sam was totally not expecting that.
My second favorite scene was with Sam and Dean at the beginning where they are discussing the upcoming case and Valentine's Day. I love it when they just can be brothers.
Final Notes:
Note to self: ~ Buy silver pen and "witch killing bullets" ~ Get the Kiss of Death curse so Dean will kiss me (and save my life)
Okay, so maybe it's a "you're it" kind of kiss, but I'll take it.
G’s thoughts:
This was SUCH a fun episode!
Brother banter (always a treat)
Rock, paper, scissors (I’m still screaming)
Interesting case (some nice twists and turns)
Dean finally opened up to Sam (my HEART)
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT (they’re starting to trust each other again you guys *cries happy tears*)
I say this literally every time, but this season is just so freakin’ GOOD! And we get more Casifer next week!

M’s thoughts:
It looks like they have a nice set up for a potential Wayward Daughters spinoff. Does it seem like Sioux Falls is overrun with vampires since Bobby died?
Favorite Quotes:
Favorite Scene: The whole awkward chicken dinner scene. Sam and Dean's reactions are great. Delicious homemade food. Yes, real chicken. Not the processed crap. I guess Dean's cooking abilities are still limited. Then we get into monsters, birth control, and condoms. Who knew?
I will say the whole flying woodchuck and "The Elvis" burger scene was also entertaining.
Final Note: Claire still has the Grumpy Cat! It was on her bed.
G’s thoughts:
I really wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about this episode, but I ended up enjoying it, of course. It was great to see the Wayward Daughters again! A few highlights:
The Elvis burger, and then the dinner scene, oh god. Help.
Claire and Alex bickering at first, but then killing the vampire together.
Speaking of, I liked that they brought up Alex’s past. Some nice continuity there.
I was slightly disappointed that Claire didn’t ask about Cas—but I am consoled with the knowledge that she still has the Grumpy Cat (thanks M for pointing that out)
Will definitely be checking out the spinoff if it happens.
Another Valentine’s episode coming up for next week. I am both curious and terrified.

M’s thoughts:
At the very beginning of season 11, they announced that Dean would have an older admirer. I totally forgot about that! How could I have been so foolish?!?!
Favorite Scene:
Basically, every scene with Mildred. She was great! She made me laugh. Don’t worry, Mildred. You aren’t the only one…. You aren’t the only one.
Favorite Lines:
When you need to answer a break up text, you can use Arthur's advice:
They look even cuter…
“I’m going to need my hand back” ~ Dean
“Trust Issues” ~ Eileen “Yeah, I know” ~ Sam
Final Notes:
I would also love to retire, Dean. You aren’t the only one.
Anyone else go: “No, Dean, don’t tell Casifer everything!” and “Don’t buy that, Sam!” (When Dean insisted that the banshee went after him because he only had the knife.)
Kudos for incorporating a deaf character on the show. I enjoyed seeing her and some of my favorite lines were signed! I also liked how she made a connection with Sam. Maybe we'll see her again.
I never would have expected a Golden Girls reference. I love that show. I totally want to be Sophie when I’m in my 80s.
G’s thoughts:
Yet another amazing episode from season 11. I know I keep harping on how good this season is, but I just can't get over it, you guys.
Some highlights:
Mildred and Eileen, obviously.I especially loved the inclusion of sign language, and Sam mixing up signs at first. Anyone who has learned a second language knows how easy it is to make embarrassing mistakes like that—but the important thing is to try, and, like Eileen, most people will be nice about it.
And the moment where Sam thanked her for saving Dean, I'm not crying I just have feels in my eye
Casifer is rapidly becoming one of my favorite things. I wonder what Lucifer was actually looking for in the bunker?
The "bond" between Amara and Dean is becoming curiouser and curiouser. And it can't be a good thing that Lucifer knows about it now, good job Dean
I still haven't stopped crying about Sam keeping the retirement home brochure (and the model Samulet, I repeat, AND THE SAMULET). This is the first time we've really seen them contemplate getting old together. It will be interesting to see whether this is actually a direction the show might go in, or if it will end up being another one of those unattainable dreams, like having a normal life. I don't know how I would feel about the "retirement" ending....but I guess as long as they have peace when they are done, I'll be satisfied.
So yeah, this episode was amazing
All hail Robbie Thompson
Very excited to see the Wayward Daughters next week!
Credit to @goodpielife for the idea.
I saw Mummy kissing Lucifer Underneath the mellowsweet last night She didn't see me creep Down the stairs to have a peek She thought that I was tucked up In my throne room fast asleep
Then, I saw Mummy tickle Lucifer Underneath his beard so snowy white Oh, what a laugh it would have been If Oscar had only seen Mummy kissing Lucifer last night
Then I saw Mummy tickle Lucifer Underneath his beard so snowy white Oh, what a laugh it would have been If Oscar had only seen Mummy kissing Lucifer last night

M’s thoughts:
Well, that was an intense episode! I can see what Jared was saying about episodes 9 and 10 being his favorite so far. I must congratulate Misha on his acting. From the few small preview clips we saw, the fandom was able to tell that it wasn't really Cas, but Lucifer. The episode confirmed it. So, great job, Misha!
Favorite Scene:
-The password to Hell was awesome!
-The disco in the cage. Those tweets were right!
Favorite Quotes:
Crowley: What happened to the super duper awesome coven? #girlpower.
Lucifer: Assbutt? I still don’t get that. [And then later Cas calls Lucifer assbutt running into the cage with Dean.]
Dean and Crowley: “Bite me.” And “I could make her do it.”
Final Notes:
-I’m a little upset with Lucifer. I liked Rowena, but she sealed her fate when she answered his question about opening the cage. Wrong answer!!!
-Even Lucifer likes Sam’s hair! And, Prissy Sam?
-“Smiting sickness” – seriously?
Important Lesson:
-We can learn from Sam. Never give in to peer pressure. If Sam can say “no” to Satan's manipulations, then you can say “no” to peer pressure!
G’s thoughts:
48 hours later and I’m still having trouble speaking in coherent sentences. There was so much great stuff going on, I can’t believe this was only one episode!
Loved Colin Ford’s cameo. And the Swan Song flashbacks—my heart.
Misha did such a great job as Casifer, I am just….I don’t even have words, except maybe, “Give me more Casifer.”
I was sad, though not very surprised, to see Rowena go. Very interesting in light of her speech to Crowley, that she vowed to never be weak again, and yet it was her weakness for Lucifer that betrayed her. Also interesting that for such a supposedly independent character, she very rarely had any agency.
Every time I think season 11 cannot get any better, they come along with something to prove me wrong.
Is it Wednesday yet?
Poor Unfortunate Soul
Spoilers for Supernatural midseason finale and premiere.
What if this happens during the midseason premiere?
Lucifer: The only way for you to stop the Darkness is through me.
Sam: Can you do that?
Lucifer: My dear, sweet Sam. That’s what I do. It’s what I live for. To help unfortunate vessels like yourself. Poor souls with no one else to turn to.
I admit that in the past I’ve been a nasty They weren’t kidding when they called me, well Satan But you’ll find that nowadays I’ve mended all my ways Repented, seen the light, and made a switch True? Yes
And I, fortunately, have angel magic It’s a power that I always have possessed And here lately, please don’t laugh I use it on behalf Of the miserable, lonely, and depressed pathetic
Poor unfortunate souls In pain, in need This one longing to be thinner That one wants to get the girl And do I help them? Yes, indeed
Those poor unfortunate souls So sad, so true They come flocking to my cage Crying, “Help, Luci, please!” And do I help them? Yes, I do
Now it’s happened once or twice Someone couldn’t pay the price And I’m afraid I had to rake ‘em ‘cross the coals Yes, I’ve had the odd complaint But on the whole, I’ve been a saint To those poor unfortunate souls
Have we got a deal?
Sam: But if I let you out, we won’t be able to get you back in the cage again.
Lucifer: That’s right.
But, the darkness will be gone, heh heh. Life’s full of tough choices, isn’t it? Heh heh heh. Oh, and there is one more thing. We haven’t discussed the subject of payment. You can’t get something for nothing, you know.
Sam: But, you would be—
Lucifer: I’m not asking much, just a token really, a trifle! You’ll never even miss it. What I want from you is – your soul.
Sam: To be your vessel, how can I –
Lucifer: You’ll have your looks, your pretty face And don’t underestimate the potential of Satan’s supremacy, ha!
Up there the Darkness won’t know what has hit her You and Dean think God’s sister is a force Yes, on earth she has power for human causality of course And after all, Sam, what is the Darkness really for?
Come on, she’s not all that impressed with humanity True deities avoid it when they can But to stop and smote and fight with the Darkness right on sight It’s me who holds the torch and can stop her plan
Come on you poor unfortunate soul Go ahead Make your choice I’m a very busy devil and I haven’t got all day It won’t cost much Just your soul
You poor unfortunate soul It’s sad but true If you want to end this mess, my sweet You’ve got to pay the price Take a gulp and take a breath And submit, a “yes” will suffice
Dean, Castiel, now I’ve got him, boys The boss is on a roll This poor unfortunate soul

M’s thoughts:
Favorite Scene: My favorite scene is Lucifer in the cage talking to Sam with Crowley and Rowena off to the side. You have to appreciate Lucifer's sass. It's been too long. And, his eyes at the beginning! Awesome! I don't think his roomie wants to "hug it out" - Sorry Luci :'(
Also, Rowena fangirling over Lucifer was amusing. I think she might be right that he's not exactly relationship material.
Favorite Line: Again, I had a few favorites..."I need an actual meeting in an actual room." ~ Amara about God
"Promised Lincoln a fun night at the theater." ~ Rowena
"Big burrito himself" ~ Lucifer about God. [Didn't the fandom joke about the burrito being important in stopping the Darkness from the sneak peeks of the Baby episode - with the lighting and Sam and Dean eating burritos? God has turned into a burrito!]
"It’s not easy being a parent, knowing when to hug your child, when to kill him." ~ Rowena on motherhood
Final Thoughts: So we all knew this would be a cliffhanger and we are not disappointed with that. So when Amara sucks out a person's soul, they are not destroyed when eaten. I wonder if this means people will be able to get their souls back if she's defeated. Also, the cage was sealed by God? Makes me wonder….
And remember fandom - "If you can't stand the heat, get out of Hell." ~ Rowena
G’s thoughts:
This episode turned out to be just as epic as the promo promised!
First of all, LUCIFER. I wasn’t sure what to expect, because the promo didn’t give much of a clue as to how much of him we would actually be seeing, and because it’s been so long since he’s been on the show. But Mark Pellegrino did an absolutely fantastic job reprising the role, the writing was on point, and those scenes were all just so intense!
Second (a close second) is Amara. Very interesting what she said about God being worried that she would make a “more perfect” creation. I’d also like to know more about this “bond” between her and Dean--especially because she keeps referencing the Mark as the source of their bond, but Dean wasn’t the only bearer of the Mark. What does Amara know about Lucifer, and what will happen if the two of them come face-to-face?
Third, THAT CLIFFHANGER. Oh, Sam.
And finally, WTF was up with that promo?!?!?! It was especially jarring coming after that horrible, horrible cliffhanger. I just--what??? Christmas??? With Lucifer??? In January??? I need an explanation, please.
Also, Crowley and Rowena better watch out, and not just for Santa. Dean is going to be PISSED.
Thoughts on SPN S11E08
M’s thoughts:
Favorite Scene: I liked everything to do with Sparkle…
I have to say that imaginary friends are really creepy. By the way, can the boys still see imaginary friends now that the case is over? That would be a little weird.
Favorite line: There were many for this episode. Some include:
"Sesame Street Mother Theresa." "You're not a germ."/"You're a good weird." - the compliments of Dean and Sully towards each other.
Three Thoughts: 1. Anyone else think that the line "I'll just be...here" is like the "I'll just wait here then" line?
2. Sam and Dean wear sweaters/multilayers in regular clothes and the next thing we see is a kid in a swimming pool, outside?
3. I kind of thought the scene where Sam wanted to "ummake" Sully up was a little harsh for him. Perhaps a little more build up to the scene might have helped that. It was a little out of Sam's character for me.
G’s thoughts:
Well, once again, this season has managed to completely blow my mind with an episode I thought was just going to be fun filler. I was not prepared for all the feelings. I was not at all prepared.
First of all, I hadn't realized there were going to be flashbacks this episode. It was nice to see Dylan Everett back as Young Dean (wearing the Samulet, oh my heart), although I was severely thrown off by the longer hair. And while I missed Colin Ford, I have to say that the new actor for Young Sam, Dylan Kingwell, put on a great performance. The flashback scenes were all so perfectly bittersweet; they were cute, but it hurt my heart to know that Sam had thoughts about running away at such a young age.
And as if that didn't hurt enough, then grown-up Sam had to go and say the thing about the Cage, and make that horrible sad face, and I have not gotten any better at handling those sad faces since last season.
Thank goodness for the air guitar scene. Otherwise I'd be a complete wreck right now.
It's a testament to how good this episode was that it didn't get totally blown out of the water by the promo for next time. BECAUSE THAT PROMO WAS SO FREAKING EPIC, I DON'T EVEN HAVE THE WORDS.
the way i see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. the good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant. x
Thoughts on SPN S11E07
M’s thoughts:
Favorite Scene: The two scenes with Sam and the clown. It first started with the photo, and then he got to see the clown - in an elevator, no less! Aw, poor Sammy.
"Because clowns are really funny to me." ~ Sam
Favorite lines are related to Donna: (She’s such a sweetheart)
"Fat sucking Donna?" ~ Sam "Your life is one big poop storm, isn't it?" ~ Donna "We're up poop's creek without a padde." ~ Donna
Notes:- I liked the shout out to Halloween. The jester and clown reminded me of Michael Myers.
- Also, Donna carried salt in her fanny pack?- Near the end, there was a lot of pushing going on. Maybe they first thought about calling the episode "Push" instead of "Plush"? :)
G’s thoughts:
Well, I was really not sure what to expect from this episode, but as always, it turned out really great. A few highlights:
Donna
“New Doug”
Sam trapped in an elevator with a clown
Not-so-subtle parallels between the side characters and the boys (gotta love those)
More hints about the Cage
Dean turning into a protective big brother the second Sam brings up the Cage
Does it seem like I’ve listed the entire episode there? That’s because it was all so great.
Two week break, and then we’ll be strapping in for the midseason finale. I seriously cannot wait.
Thoughts on SPN S11E06
M’s thoughts:
Favorite Scene (well, scenes): Crowley trying to be a father. It's not easy raising children - let alone a prebiblical entity. Apparently, teenage Darkness is just as hard to raise as a teenage human. Crowley reading a book on rebellious teenagers is priceless.
Favorite Line: I had a few this episode...
"I keep forgetting about you and Crowley's summer of love." ~ Sam
"I'm sorry, buddy. You live. There's no story." ~ Metatron
"You realize you have bed bugs." ~ Castiel
Final Notes: I like the reinstated "no stabbing" rule that they lost in the prior few seasons.
Poor Cas with his PTSD (assuming that's all that is).... Hopefully, he'll be back to normal soon. Whatever happened to that video camera? Are we going to have a problem later on with someone finding Cas healing that guy? Or is this another error? Also, God's sister?!?!?! Auntie Amara doesn't seem to like her angel nieces and nephews.
G’s thoughts:
Six episodes into season 11, and we’ve yet to have one that didn’t leave me screaming and flailing all over the place. This episode caused particularly loud screams, because THE CAGE, you guys. THE CAGE!!!!!!
And the revelation that Amara is God’s sister! Supernatural certainly loves its sibling drama. I’m so intrigued by her, and her connection to Dean. It seems that neither of them really wants to hurt the other—although I couldn’t help but notice that Dean looked a lot more determined to use that knife after Amara hurt Sam. :)
I’m also very glad to see Cas back to (mostly) normal. Still waiting for a clear answer on whether he can fly or not. And while I was somewhat disappointed to see the Metatron plot pretty much wrapped up, I can’t deny that it was pretty satisfying to watch Cas beat him up.
I just cannot get over how good this season is. It’s just. It’s amazing. I can’t.
Thoughts on SPN S11E05
M’s thoughts:
Favorite Scene:My favorite scene was when Sam and Dean got the Lizzie room at the bed and breakfast. I particularly liked the whole toilet water moment.
Favorite Line: "Why do you keep spraying it?" - Dean
Second Favorite: I liked how we got to see Sam's serial killer fetish brought up again, and he was the one to like the surplus danishes, not Dean.
Second Favorite Line: "I like dark places." - Amara
Final Note: So we have the possibility of having responsible soulless people now?
G’s thoughts:
This was such an awesome episode. I was expecting filler and got plot! I’m a very happy fangirl.
One of my favorite things about this episode though were the callbacks to Soulless!Sam. I particularly appreciated Dean’s conversation with Len at the end; not only was it a nice parallel with MoC!Dean, it was also a cool way for Dean to get a different perspective on Sam’s experience with soullessness.
And, you guys, I’m just so excited about this Amara plot, I can’t even tell you. Len saying he felt like there was something “dark, with wings” inside him (like that shape someone noticed emerging from the Darkness in Brother’s Keeper), and Amara’s “see you soon” at the end, I just, aaaaahhhh!!!! And this whole idea of her forming a bond of some sort with the people whose souls she’s taken is interesting in light of the fact that she and Dean are “bound.” (I did hear a theory that Dean is soulless right now—which is an awesome theory, but I hope it isn’t the case.)
And our favorite dickwad, Metatron, will be back next episode!!! I’m looking forward to it, if only to see Cas punch him in the face.
Sigh, why does Wednesday have to come only once a week?
