Stills of some of the tanks. I lost Mr. Darcy on New Years, but the other two seem fine. In the bottom one (10g) you can see my new guppies and how bad I am at plants.

Betta owner: this is my fish, he's a partial-dragon red devil traditional halfmoon plakat. He's from a ten-generation line originating from an IBC best-in-show winner, imported directly from Bangkok. I paid three months salary for him.
Cichlid owner: this is my fish, he's a rare colour morph of a recently discovered species that doesn't even have a scientific name yet. I had to search twenty stores and six websites to find him. I think his species might already be extinct in the wild.
Goldfish owner: this is my fish. He's fat and adorable and good.
Decided to dig out the good camera to get some pics of the babes. <3 I love these little fatties so much gosh dangit. I had to turn the shutter speed way up, so they’re a little darker than I might have wanted, but the drama is nice lol.
My babes. :) these are the three that spawned a couple weeks ago, but I didn't try to save any of the eggs. I'd like the two boys to get bigger before I actually try breeding them. #fishofinstagram #goldfish #oranda #ranchu
Guess what I finally get to set up! Gonna move the smallest Goldies in there after moving some filtration over.
Ahhh I want one! How many gallons is it?
Question!
If you could only keep one species of fish in a 6ft long tank (lets say 125gal), what species would you keep?
damn, only one?
sadled bichir, most likely. they’re really pretty and i like fish with personalities.
I would probably do parrot cichlids - I love their smiling faces!
Ropefish. No doubt. But I do also like tin foil barbs
I would one day love to have a Jaguar cichlid. They have a ton of personality and are very smart. When I worked at my LFS I would spoil a juvenile female jaguar we had with all kinds of frozen foods (she LOVED chopped squid), a variety of pellets, and ghost shrimp. I kind of fell in love with the species
Fancy goldfish. I don't think I'll ever buy anything else now.
Lookin to follow fishblr blogs!
I NEED more fishblr blogs to follow. I love all fishes so feel free to reblog/like and i’ll follow you.
Ps: Bettas and goldfish have a special place in my heart so pls I need more blogs.
I post about my planted 75 and my 125 goldie tank, and other animal stuff
Don't have a name for this little guy yet, but he's basically the twin of Ziggy, only with a wen lol. Edit: I'm gonna name him Alladin Sane. Another fabulous persona.
Molly had an unfortunate encounter with the filter intake, but she's recovering nicely. Her tail fin is healed and her pectoral fins are making a comeback, when all three were totally shredded. She can now leave the corner of the tank, at least, if not very fast. #goldfish #fishofinstagram #ranchu
The illustrious Ziggy Stardust, ladies and gents. I brought him home the day before Bowie's death, and he's so sparkly I thought it was a fitting tribute. Also I just realized that there’s a notification sound in this video and I cant fix it! AAHHH
REBLOG THIS IF YOU ARE A GENERAL FRESHWATER BLOG
We are trying to compile all the fishblr blogs and organize them according to fish type. If you are not comfortable being added to the list, then don’t reblog.
I also post a lot of other animal stuff but I do specialize in freshwater tropical community and goldfish!
Having the memory of a goldfish would actually be an upgrade for most other fish. Goldfish have been noted to remember things they are taught up to a year later, and will anticipate food if they are fed consistently at a certain time of day. Memory aside, goldfish are perhaps smarter than you may realize. Researchers have trained these fish to play fetch, push levers, do the limbo, and play a form of soccer. They can also recognize their owners, and can ever pick a favorite (usually the one who feeds them). Goldfish have also exhibited signs of trust toward their masters, and will even hide in the presence of strangers.

Guys goldfish are so dope. There’s a reason I converted my tropical tank to a goldfish tank.
He’s so pretty! I never think calicos look great until I have one lol. Still haven’t found a good name yet.
How old is fishblr?
How old are all of you? I just want to see the age differences in everyone in the community.
I’m 20
22! Birthday is Feb 2nd
26 in May.
To each and every fish owner who actually cares about the well being of your pets instead of shoving them in a jar and putting them on display.
I LOVE YOU
Guys! I’ve said it before and I’m going to say it again - if you’re not using a hose with built-in protection for your water changes, you HAVE to make some DIY protection. I’ve seen too many (gold)fish lose their eyes or even get sucked up completely and killed in the process.
It’s so easy to just wrap a bit of mosquito netting around a hose; you’ll still be able to remove debris but without the risks. I use the one above so I can just clean my room while doing a water change at the same time.
This especially goes for goldfish owners as we need large hoses to clean those large tanks!
Agreed! One of my Goldies swam up the tube as I was putting it in the tank. Thankfully she wasn’t harmed, but it was still a scare! Please put netting or pantyhose or something over the end of your siphon!
I think panty hose won't work if you're trying to get out bigger debris, but some sort of netting should work. Personally, I use a smaller hose (i think 3/4 inch) and just hold it the whole time so I can move it away from them. Mine usually spend the whole time close to my hand looking for food anyway.
Fishkeeper Jargon
I just did a PWC in my 30g (and added some ferts). I mean, the BB in my HOB can’t keep the params safe all by themselves! I really need to get some prime from my LFS.
