Not My Type - Part 3
Summary: Two polar opposites meet on unusual terms. When they decide to take a chance on each other both of their worlds turn upside down.
Pairing: Nikki Sixx (The Dirt) x OC
Authors note: Thanks for reading!!! This is done now, but if any of you have suggestions or request for Nikki or really anything else, let me know! (Really I’m totally down to do another Nikki series lol) and let me know if you want tagged!!!
Walking around the city with Nikki Sixx definitely brought on a slew on stares for Scarlet. Some in disgust of a pretty woman out with a degenerate, some of jealousy over both parties. And although it was new and quite distracting, Scarlet did her best to ignore it and focus on her date.
They walked along a busy bridge, filled with cars and people who watched the boats pass by in the water below. Scarlet stopped to watch too, and almost had to catch her breath when her date’s hands ended up on either side of her, holding onto the rail. She could smell the leather and booze coming from behind her, and honestly she was beginning to like it. Every moment with him felt thrilling and dangerous, something very out of her ordinary.
They talked quietly about the sea life below them and little stories of years passed, until an upset onlooker decided to raise hell. “Hey! You there! Get away from her!” An older man was hollering while he made his way toward them. The pair looked at the old man, confused as to what he meant. “I know you’re type, you delinquent, druggie, bastards all want the same thing! You aren’t touching this young girl tonight!”
“Sir, I think you’ve got the wrong idea.” Scarlet defended as she moved to stand in front of Nikki.
“Don’t let this scum of the earth manipulate you. Come with me, we’ll contact the police and get you home safe and sound.” She felt sorry for her date, wondering how often he was called things like this. But she also knew life in suburbia, she knew a girl like her would never be caught dead with a guy like him. To this man, he must have been saving her from some wretched demise. He had good intentions, sure, but he was being a judgmental jerk.
“No! You don’t need to call the police, everything is fine.” She protested, though he was having none of it. He grabbed her arm and attempted to pull her away. He didn’t get far before Nikki whipped him around and punched him in the eye. “Oh my god!”
“Shit! Go!” Nikki called to her as he grabbed her hand and started running. The man was obviously on the phone with the cops by the time they turned around to look. Scarlet felt uncomfortable running from police, but a huge part of her got an adrenaline rush from it once they could hear police sirens.
All they could hear were their heavy breathing, quick footsteps, and the rattling of the chains Nikki wore. By the time they were sure they were far enough out of site, they stopped to catch their breath. “What did we just do?” She laughed, knowing they were not likely in much trouble, though it had been more trouble than she’d ever been in before.
“You, my dear, just ran from the cops for the first time.” He laughed with her, though he felt a little guilty for having to run from police on their first date. He felt like she’d never want to see him again if he didn’t fix it somehow.
“Do you do this often?” Scarlet panted, trying to catch her breath.
“I try not to anymore.” He leaned up against a brick wall down whatever alley they’d ended up in. “Sorry babe.”
The name made her blush, thankfully it was hard to see in the darkening sky. “No, it’s okay, I think I needed the work out.” Silence came as their breathing returned to normal and the sirens became distant.
“I think we’re clear.” Nikki said as he slowly stood. He took Scarlet’s hand and lifted her up, they stood close enough to barely touch.
As much as Scarlet wanted to kiss Nikki then, she thought it was an absurd place to have a first kiss with someone, no matter how fitting it may be. He leaned down and hovered over her lips for a moment, giving her a choice to either back away or close the gap. She didn’t move, but she look him in the eyes and smiled. “I’m not kissing you for the first time in an alley way after running from the cops.”
“Forget the time and place. Do you want to do this?” He asked as he placed a hand on her neck and ran his thumb over her cheek.
“Yes.” She she could barely say it through her beating heart and sweaty hands. “But I want it to be perfect.”
“I want you to do what you want to do. Don’t worry about making shit perfect. That’s what you’ve based your whole life around. Do what makes you happy when it makes you happy. Fuck perfect.” He wanted nothing more than to challenge her and make her think outside of her own box. And although he was worried he would upset her, the smile that spread across her face was more than enough confirmation that he’d succeeded.
Scarlet stood for a moment, debating on what to do. Inside, she wanted to give in to her desires, but some part of her didn’t want to let go of making every little thing perfect. She took in a deep breath and repeated, “Fuck perfect.” The word didn’t come naturally to her, but it felt like the right response, it felt good.
Nikki beamed at her, not knowing if he had been more excited about the coming kiss or the curse coming from Scarlet’s pretty mouth. He wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her face up to his. Scarlet closed the gap quickly, but softly.
Doing this felt so foreign Scarlet, like she had broken free from some mental cage she’d locked herself in. She was beginning to understand Nikki and why he did the things he did, why he was always looking for a thrill. But in that moment, she was deaf to everything around her, she heard nothing but the small sounds coming from their lips, felt nothing but the hands that held her close, she couldn’t even focus on the smell of the night air, the smell of leather and Jack Daniels seemed to entice her.
And Nikki, so used to the easy women and quick sex, found some comfort in their kiss. It felt real, like he’d been giving the gift of certainty and sustainability. Something about this was beyond different from anything else, and he knew then he couldn’t fuck it up. If he did, he’d only remember Scarlet as the one that got away.
Scarlet pulled back and smiled at the rocker, she touched his face and shook her head. “I never thought.. I’d-“
“Don’t worry babe, you’re not my type either.” He pulled her close to him and he lead her out of the alley. “That’s the best part.”
“You think?” She asked, finally feeling like things were making sense in her world again.
“There’s not a doubt in my mind, sweetheart. I think we’ve got something here.” It was cocky, sure, but it was the most honest he’d been with a woman in what seemed like forever.
They knew they would have a rough road ahead, and things wouldn’t always be perfect, but something about that kiss felt like it was worth fighting for, and something about it made them hold on, even if they weren’t each other’s types.

Not My Type - Part 2
Summary: Two polar opposites meet on unusual terms. When they decide to take a chance on each other both of their worlds turn upside down.
Pairing: Nikki Sixx (The Dirt) x OC
Author’s note: Thanks for reading! If you want to be on my tag list let me know! I was going to make the date a full part but I think it’ll be way too long lol so look out for part 3!
“I don’t know about this Drew.” Scarlet said while she absentmindedly fiddled with her hair. They’d only been sitting in the club parking lot for a few minutes, but her nerves were starting to get the best of her. “What if he doesn’t show up?”
“He’s going to show up.” Drew answered, maybe more nervous than his sister was. “Nikki freaking Sixx doesn’t just ask anyone out on a date. If he wants to actually talk to you, and not just have sex with you, that’s a big deal. He’ll be here.”
“I look stupid.” She looked down at her black skirt, probably the only black item of clothing she owned, and her off the shoulder pink top. Drew has helped her get dressed, but she wasn’t so confident.
“You look fine.” He laughed, as if her worrying about her clothes was the last thing she needed to worry about.
Knots formed in Scarlet’s stomach as she waited. 5:00 exactly. “He’s late.”
“He’s a rock star. You’ll be lucky if he shows up before 6.” Drew laughed as he nervously tapped his fingers on the wheel.
“I don’t care if he’s a rock star, he can be on time.” She said defensively. Her frustration didn’t actually come from Nikki’s tardiness, it came from her nerves and twisted stomach. She hoped this would t last all night.
After 5 minutes of nervous silence, Drew finally spoke up. “That’s him.” He pointed to a black car that pulled up beside them.
As the three of them exited their cars, they greeted each other as if they had known each other forever. “Hey man! How’s it going?” Drew called as he went in for a high five.
Nikki chuckled and high fived the exited fan. “Not to bad, how about yourself?” He raised his eyebrow at Scarlet discreetly, making her giggle. Obviously Nikki had no planned to entertain Drew.
“I’m great, dude. So where you two headed?” He asked, almost like he wanted to come along.
“Oh- I figured we would-“
“You have work tomorrow morning, I don’t want to keep you up too late.” Scarlet interrupted. She knew if Drew knew where they were going, he’d “conveniently” run into them. “Nikki, would you mind driving me home tonight?”
Nikki smiled, as he knew exactly what was going on. She was obviously just trying to save herself a little embarrassment. “Yeah sweetheart, whatever you want.”
“Okay, well I’ll see you later Drew.” She hugged her brother who was disappointed and silent.
“Be safe.” Drew said, slugging back into his car.
The moment Scarlet sat down in Nikki’s car, the overwhelming smell of leather and booze hit her nose. Something about it excited her, and her nerves went a little off the rails once her date got in and started the car. “Sorry about him, like I said, he’s a big fan of yours.”
“No problem, I deal with a lot worse than that. He seems like an alright guy.” As he drove, Scarlet began to realize she had no idea where they were going.
“So where are you taking us?” She tried not to sound nervous, but she was sure it had come through in her voice.
“Figured we’d go somewhere quiet, since I don’t think you’re too used to the bar scene.” She nodded in approval, somewhat relieved she wouldn’t be sitting on some pub.
They ended up in some family owned, Italian restaurant. The vibe was more comfort and homey than it was classy, which she thought was great, seeing as someone like Nikki probably wouldn’t fit in at a high end restaurant.
They were seated in the back of the dining room at a small table next to the window. It was dimly lit and for once, no one was staring at Nikki, not in the way he was used to anyway. A few odd looks came his way, his leather pants most likely being the cause, but no one waiting to get his autograph. It was a relief to him. The waitress promptly took their orders and left, finally giving them time to talk. “So Scar, tell me about yourself.”
The question felt too broad, she really didn’t know what to say, so she started wherever she thought was relavent. “Well, I go to university right now, I’m studying business, I-“
“Why business?” He asked as he stirred the water the waitress had just set in front of him. “Does it make you happy?”
“Oh, uh not really. It’s a good basis for about any career. My parents thought it would be helpful.” She shrugged, and for the first time she started to question her choice.
“But if it doesn’t make you happy, why do it?” She hates that he had a point and began to realize how smart he actually was. Rock stars didn’t really have the most notability for being intelligent.
“Financial stability I suppose.” She received a nod and another question right off the bat.
“So do you live with your brother?” Another rock star cliche was that they were arrogant and only wanted to talk about themselves. He was proving her wrong there too. Even the other men she’d gone on dates with, who were nothing like Nikki, had no interest in getting to know her.
“For now, yeah. He lives closer to school and I can’t really afford an apartment of my own yet. It’s really nice of him to take care of me.” She felt like a loser, not having a car or a place to call her own, but Nikki didn’t seem to mind. In fact, he didn’t mind at all, he could relate to being that poor. Except he never got the help from family like she did.
“Yeah it is. You seem to have a great family.” The waitress brought over Nikki’s jack and coke and set down a martini for Scarlet.
“What’s your like?” She asked, though had she known his answer she wouldn’t have.
“I don’t know, I don’t talk to them. I’m on my own. But that’s a story for another day.” He flashes her a smile and took a drink, but she could see that was a touchy subject.
“Sorry. Well what about you? Tell me something about yourself rock star. I’m sure your story is far more interesting than mine.” She laughed, trying to get off of the weird note that had left them on.
“I see the world from the back of a bus, fuck up hotel rooms, get drunk, get high, play shows, meet fans, whatever. It’s not that interesting.” He shrugged as if it were a normal thing, but Scarlet had a laundry list of questions, but only one stuck out.
“Drugs? Like what?” She didn’t know almost anything about drugs, and she’d never met anyone who had done them.
“Cocaine for a long time, we all did that. But uh, I guess when I found heroin I fell in love.” He looked disappointed in himself, and she honestly wasn’t sure why. “Since I’m sure you’ll find out anyway, you might as well hear it from me.” He started, “I did heroin for a long time, let everyone down, about tore my band apart. It got to a bad point and I over dosed and died. Even after my ass got saved and went and shot up again.”
“How are you doing now?” She asked, afraid for him. She didn’t know why but she was worried about him.
“Better. Cleaned up in rehab and stayed clean. I went back to drinking, obviously, but so far so good on the drug use.” He chuckled, trying to keep this light. He hadn’t expected to spill his guts about the darkest time of his life. It was only their first date.
Conversation was interrupted by the waitress setting down their food. Scarlet was excited about her dish, but she kept her martini in mind. She wasn’t one to drink and didn’t know what to do with it yet.
As they began eating, Scarlet sat back and looked her fate in the eyes. He awkwardly looked up at her and for the first time he felt a little nervous. “I’m glad you’re okay.”
“Is that still on your mind?” He asked, surprised she was so concerned.
“Yeah, I guess it is. You’re just a really talented and sweet person. I’d hate to see you destroy yourself like that.” She wasn’t really thinking as she spoke, she just said what she felt.
Nikki sat silent, but the look on his face told Scarlet that what she said meant something to him. He may have been used to adoring fans, but he wasn’t used to actual kind intentions and someone worrying about him. He didn’t know what to say, so of course, he changed the subject. “Are you going to try your drink?”
“I don’t know, I haven’t really-“
“Try it.” He laughed, knowing she’d be apprehensive. “If you don’t like it, you don’t have to drink the rest.”
“I don’t want to get drunk.” She giggles and looked around to make sure no one was watching.
“You won’t I promise. I wouldn’t ask you to do that. Come on, have your first drink with me. If nothing else it’s a cool story to tell your brother.” He was too charming for his own good. His smile would have convinced her to do about anything.
He gave him a playful glare and took a small sip. She wanted to hate it and give him a big “I told you so” but she wasn’t quite that lucky. “Okay it’s good, but the after taste is awful!” She set her drink down and eyes Nikki. He seemed satisfied as he began to eat again. “I don’t know how you drink liquor straight.”
“Lots of practice.” They laughed, and conversation seemed like it could have gone on forever.
After dinner, neither of them were ready to call it a night. “Hey, do you want to go for a walk?” Scarlet asked, hoping it wasn’t too forward.
“Hell yeah, let’s go.” They weren’t sure where the night would take them, but they both knew something good was going to come out of it, and it was only half over.

Not My Type- Part One
Summary: Two polar opposites meet on unusual terms. When they decide to take a chance on each other both of their worlds turn upside down.
Pairing: Nikki Sixx (The Dirt) x OC
“I shouldn’t be here.” Scarlet sighed. She’d been dragged to a scene she never thought she’d catch herself in.
“I told you to wear black.” Drew said, laughing at his sister as they made their way into the dark and musty club.
“I don’t really have a lot of black, you know that.” She found herself standing closer to her brother as the crowd around them began to get tighter. “Plus, I guess I didn’t really think I’d stick out that much.” Scarlet had never been to a bar before, let alone a rock concert.
This was beyond new territory for her. She’d grown up in a safe and rich community, she and her friends all attended university, she’d never so much as touched a cigarette. She was very clean and well behaved, unlike Drew, who looked much more like the so called “degenerates” in the club she stood in. She thought this must be how Drew felt all the time, being the one in the crowd to stick out like a sore thumb.
“I’m glad you came with me.” He smiled and hugged her. Had it not been his birthday, she never would have considered doing this for him.
The lights went down and the crowd began to holler. “What band is this again?” Scarlet asked, only to be cut of by the sounds of screeching guitars and screaming fans.
The band took their places as the singer took center stage. From that moment on the crowd was chaos. Drew lead Scarlet to the front of the crowd to keep her from the pit, which she was thankful for. She didn’t understand the need to thrash about, to be so chaotic. She could see that the men on stage encouraged this kind of behavior just in the way they dressed and sounded.
She looked over each of them, and although her first thought was how dirty and grungy they looked, she had to admit she was starting to see the appeal, especially once she locked eyes with the bassist.
He was muscular, tall, and had a beautiful facial structure. He wasn’t at all her type, but something about him kept her interested, and the feeling was mutual.
As Nikki Sixx played his bass to the all too familiar songs, he often looked out at the crowd. He once did this to scout out his company for the night, but since he’d gotten off heroin he no longer felt he needed sex from a different woman every night. This night, he was enjoying the people who were just as passionate about his music as he was, until he met eyes with Scarlet. He didn’t know her, but something about her made him want to.
He smiled at her, noticing how her purple long sleeve shirt and white wash denim jeans stood out from the common black on black attire most people wore. He noticed her soft curled, blond hair draped over her shoulder, how she stood and observed everyone around her. He could see she was very out of place, and seemingly alone. She sparked an interest that he hadn’t felt in a long time.
Throughout the show he kept an eye on her, just as she did him. At one point, he even knelt down by her and and stuck his tongue out, which made her actually smile for the first time that night.
After the show, Scarlet wondered around in an attempt to find her brother. She figured he was heading to the back of the venue as he’d mentioned he was going to try to meet the band. So she sat at the bar and sipped on a virgin shirley temple. The crowd quickly cleared and soon there was no one left but workers cleaning up and a few bar tenders, so it came as a surprise when someone suddenly sat down next to her.
“Didn’t mean to scare you.” The man said in response to her gasp.
“No, it’s okay.” She said as she caught her breath. She looked him up and down and suddenly felt a little nervous. “You’re the bassist, right?”
“Nikki Sixx.” He smiled, some What entertained by the fact that she didn’t know him. “Whats you name, honey?”
“Uh, Scarlet.” She answered, feeling awkward. She had no clue how to speak with someone like him, other than Drew she’d never even talked to anyone like him.
“What brings you out tonight, Scar?” The nickname wasn’t something she’d expected, and oddly it was one she’d never been given.
“It’s my brother’s birthday today. He was going to bring his girlfriend but she broke up with him a few days ago. He kind of guilted me into this.” She laughed nervously as she stirred her drink with her straw. “I don’t really belong in a place like this.” She shrugged and hesitantly looked him in the eyes. She was almost afraid to make eye contact with him. He was so intense and so attractive and so.. different.
“Did you like it?” He asked as he waved the bartender over. “Jack and coke man.”
“I’ve never heard music like that.” Scarlet smiled, thinking about the music that was ringing through her ears less than an hour before.
“How did it feel?” The question caught her off guard, but she took a moment to think before answering.
“Thrilling, actually.” The thought of it made her smile. “I’m pretty sure my heart has never raced like that before.” She wasn’t sure where the honesty came from, or why she was happy about the satisfied look on Nikki’s face, but she tried not to dwell on it.
“Well I’m glad I could make your heart race.” He have her a crooked smile, which only made her blush. She was not at all used to men hitting on her, and it didn’t help that he’d been so open about it. She knew he must have had a lot of experience.
“Oh, I uh-“ She stuttered for a moment and took a breath to calm her nerves. “I don’t know how to respond to be honest with you.”
“Do you have a boyfriend, sweetheart?” He asked as he slowly sipped on his drink.
“No, never.” She spat out on accident. The smile on his face made her feel embarrassed. “I don’t mean never..” she retorted quickly, trying to save herself from being even more embarrassed. “Just no one serious.”
“Well I’d ask to buy you a drink but judging by your Shirley temple there I’d say you’ve never had a drink in your life.” She was surprised at how easily he read her and how in tune he was. He seemed to know exactly what to say. “Let me buy you dinner tomorrow.”
“Dinner? I can’t possibly be the kind of girl you’d ask out.” She accidentally said, not realizing her thoughts were turning into words until after she said it.
After he let out a laugh, he nodded in partial agreement. “You’re not the kind of girl I’d take back to my dressing room to fuck and forget about either.” This wasn’t language she was used to, she hadn’t heard too many people use words like that without being angry. “You’re pretty, and you seem really sweet. Let me take you out.”
Just as she was about to answer, she noticed her brother standing a few feet away from her, his mouth gaping in awe. Nikki followed her gaze and also noticed Drew. “Uh Nikki, this is my brother Drew. He’s a big fan of yours.”
Drew quickly approached and shook the bassist’s hand. “It’s an honor to meet you man. You’re a huge inspiration to me. You guys rock!”
“Thanks. Happy birthday, by the way.” Drew looked like he could faint at any moment but held his composure.
“Wow! Thanks.” He felt so overwhelmed that he was a loss for words. After an awkward silence he spoke up again, not wanting to ruin this for his sister. “I’ll uh- sorry for interrupting. I’ll wait for you in the car?”
“No, no. It’s okay, I have to get home anyway. It’s late.” Scarlet stood up and straightened her shirt. “It was nice to meet you, Nikki.”
She shook his hand and he held it for a moment, not ready for her to leave without an answer. “You never answered me.”
Scarlet was a little embarrassed to accept a date in front of her brother, but a part of her really wanted to see Nikki again. “Sure, dinner sounds nice.” She glances at Drew and he looked like he might explode.
“Meet me here tomorrow at 5?” He asked, paying no attention to anything but her and her acceptance.
“Yeah, I’ll see you then.” She smiled and hesitantly slipped her hand out of his. She turned away and left the club, knowing he was watching her.
Drew had only been patient enough to wait until she shut her car door to freak out. “Oh my god! What just happened?” He was yelling and laughing, unable to believe what he’d just seen.
“I guess I’m going on a date with Nikki Sixx.” She laughed, knowing well her brother was far more excited than her.
He laughed and set his hands on the steering wheel before breathing out a quiet “Holy shit.”
Throughout your whole life, you see glowing butterfly-like things flying around people. You discover that these butterflies are the culmination of a thought troubling someone; the bigger the butterfly, the more troubling the thought is. You usually see one or two small ones; some people you see have up to five small ones. On rare occasions, you even see a couple big ones around someone. But today, you saw someone with a swarm of dozens of giant butterflies.
It was like an odd sixth sense kind of thing that no one ever understood but me. Troubling thoughts manifested themselves in the form of butterflies. Of course, it took me a long time and a lot of trial and error to figure out this gift of mine, and to realize no one would ever believe me.
I chose to move to Miami, at my young adult age. My thoughts process began with how much I hated butterflies, moving to Antarctica seemed more fitting. But Miami called to me, and a part of me hoped these butterflies would just blend in with the rest of the tropical paradise that was southern Florida.
My little game of pretend worked for the most part, the butterflies very well blended in and even disappeared at places like the beach and the boardwalk. But one night, as I sat on a quiet boat dock, I noticed something I had never seen before. A swarm.
I began to wonder if this was an actual swarm of butterflies, as I never saw anything even close to this regarding my little “gift.” But they were huge, and they followed someone. This someone must have been horribly disturbed, or at the very least depressed beyond recognition.
I ducked behind a boat and spied from afar, praying not to be noticed. I had no idea what this man was running from, but based on his pace, and the way he constantly checked his surroundings, I could tell it was bad.
He drug something behind him, or multiple somethings. It was hard to tell, I could only tell the objects were heavy and being carried in bags. Garbage bags, maybe?
I slowly creeped forward to get a better look. Definitely garbage bags. The man lifted each of them into the boat and somewhat tried to hide them. I watched as he boated off into the distance. Some huge part of me was horrified by what I saw, but I wasn’t at all brave enough to contact the police or stick around much longer.
I left the dock, vowing to never come back again. Little did I know it wouldn’t matter. This was not my last interaction with the butterfly man.
Days later, maybe a week or so actually, I had been laying out on the sand at the beach when I heard police sirens. My curiosity sparked and I looked to the direction of the sirens, like most others did. That’s when I saw it again. The swarm.
I cautiously made my way to the crimes scene after getting dressed and gathering my things. I had to see who this person was. I had to see his face.
He was waking away from the scene of the crime, a murder apparently. For a moment it al made sense, cops and detectives often had the most butterflies. But I was quickly slapped with the memory of this person dragging what could have been hacked up people in garbage bags onto a boat.
I didn’t realize I was staring until the man stopped and approached me. “Uh can I help you?” He asked, looking at me like I was the inhuman one.
“Who are you?” I asked, I must have seemed so criptic, asking this and staring at him like a lunatic.
“I’m working forensics with Miami PD. Dexter Morgan.”
And that’s how I met the Bay Harbor Butcher.
Old Times -Part One
Summary: Negan stumbles upon a familiar face from life before the end of the world.
Pairing: Negan (The Walking Dead) x OC
The dead walk the earth, the living survive on nothing but fuel in the form of safe houses and scraps of food they find or hunt. It wasn’t the way Emily ever thought things would be, or anyone for that matter, but there she was, hiding out in some old, abandoned cottage in the middle of the woods. She thought this would be her safe place, somewhere she could feel comfortable sleeping without the fear of being eaten by walkers in her sleep. She was wrong.
Emily had woken in the middle of the night to the sound of pounding on her front door that she’d hardly reinforced given her false sense of safety. That was mistake number one. Mistake number two came when fear started to override rational thought. Instead of running for weapons when the door cracked open, she attempted to hide herself in a small closet.
As the dead drug their feet in, they became frantic, or as frantic as the dead could be, in search for the living flesh they smelled and craved. Her hands shook and tears ran down her face. “This is it. This is how it’s going to end.” She thought, feeling more hopeless than ever.
Just when she had given up all hope, she heard something that would change the course of her awful night. The croaking sounds of walkers dying tang through the cottage, making her perk up and wonder what on earth was going on out there.
When the sounds of smashing and crushing finally came to a close, foot steps could be heard around the area. It seemed like only one person, but Emily couldn’t imagine a scenario where one person could kill so many walkers. And although it was against her better judgement, she slowly and quietly crawled out of the closet. She gasped as she was quickly met with the rotting face in hers. She threw herself into her back and took in the bloody scene around her.
Just as she started to get overwhelmed, a figure in the doorway took her attention. “Ho-ly shit!” The man exclaimed, oddly amused somehow. A barbed wire covered bat was sling over his shoulder, dripping with blood. He seemed unfazed by this. “We got a live one.”
“You did this?” She asked, not sure what she was more horrified by, the graveyard around her or the man above her that caused it without a flinch.
“Yeah and saved your ass in doing so.” He chuckled as he rest back on his heel. “What’s your name, doll?” The room was dark and she couldn’t see much, but she recognized that voice from somewhere.
“Emily.” She answered without thought, his demeanor and authoritative stance made her feel afraid, but he’d just saved her life. She couldn’t be anything less than grateful. “Thank you, for this.”
“Emily.. Have we met?” She was taken aback by the question, but upon really looking at him, she realized he was right. They’d met before, long before the outbreak.
“Negan?” She answered, trying to hold back a smile. She stood up and brushed herself off quickly before going back to the conversation. “You’re alive? What are you doing here?” She hurried to him and hugged him out of a rush of relief and joy.
“I could ask you the same thing.” He hugged her back, almost dropping his beloved bar in the process. His smile was still there, but it wasn’t the normal, cocky grin he often wore. He was shocked to find someone from his old life, relieved even. It suddenly made him miss the old days.
They’d met long before the outbreak, looking at her was like looking into the past, into a place he dearly missed when he let himself think about it.
He pulled away from him to look him in the eyes. He looked almost just as he did the last time he saw her, except maybe more muscular now. “I haven’t seen you since..” she trailed off, remembering exactly when she saw him last but didn’t want to say.
“Since the bar.” He finished, and in the back of both of their minds they remembered their first and last meetings.
Negan’s wife, Lucille, was harsh and demanding and every part of him felt his marriage had failed. They fought so often that he barely knew what it was like to laugh with a woman anymore, until he met Emily. He’d often go to the bar to get out for a while and let things cool off at home. That’s where he met her.
She was shy and new to bar tending, she wasn’t cut out for it but she was pretty and men tipped well. It wasn’t what she really wanted to do in life, but it paid the bills.
It was a slow night when Emily came into work. It was the last shift, and a short one at that. She was ready to go home as soon as she came, until she noticed the tired looking man at the end of the bar. A few others lingered as they sipped their drinks, but it was him she was interested in. “Hey.” She smiled as she gained his attention. “You okay?”
“Doin’ great doll.” It seemed like he’d actually meant to sound more honest, but it came out sarcastic. “Mind filling this up?” He slid his glass over to her, and motioned toward the nearby bottle of whiskey.
She lowly watched him as she poured the whiskey. She slid his glass back and checked on the other bar dwellers. After a few moments of contemplation, she went back to him. “Want to talk about it?” She pried, making him chuckle.
“That obvious, huh?” He rubbed his eyes with his hand and took a deep breath. “Think I’m here for the same reason most of these lonely, alcoholic bastards are here for. Angry wife.”
“Ooh. That bad, huh?” She rested her elbows on the bar and sipped on her soda. “By the look on your face, I’m guessing it’s one of two things. This is your first big fight with a wife you’re crazy in love with, which I’m going to doubt since I’ve seen you here once or twice, or this is becoming so common that you don’t know what to do anymore. Am I close?” She found it easy to talk with him, despite her normal reserved nature.
“Spot on, sweetheart.” He chuckled and sipped his drink, looking confident but deep down she knew he was feeling down.
“It’s Emily.” She smiled and lightly tapped her name tag. She got a smile out of him, which was really all she wanted.
“Negan.”
From that moment on, they bonded over broken relationships and their off sense of humor. It was an unexpected friendship laced with some kind of flirtatious nature, as time went on.
Negan quickly became attached to Emily, as he was able to use her as therapist and friend. She reminded him how to laugh, and she helped him forget about the rest of the world outside of the bar. And although the friendship was innocent enough, he knew himself enough to know he had feelings for her.
Emily, on the other hand, was incredibly oblivious to Negan’s flirting. She saw it as a joke most of the time, just friends kidding around, even if it did make her heart beat out of her chest. He wasn’t someone she ever imagined she’d want to be with, but she couldn’t help but imagine it at times. She found safety in him, as he was always there to ward off the seemingly sexual predators that frequented the bar now and then who always wanted more than a drink from her. She found solace in him, knowing she could vent if she needed to and ask for his opinion. He was honest and caring, something rare, she thought.
The last time Negan saw Emily, he knew it would be the last. The news of Lucille’s cancer made things hard for him, and he knew he couldn’t keep seeing this girl anymore. As much as it hurt him, he knew he had to let her go.
He walked into the bar, his composure slightly different than normal. His confident stride and cocky smirk had completely vanished. “Hey you.” Emily greeted him as he took his normal seat. He mumbles out some sort of greeting, but it was incomprehensible. “What’s up buttercup? Bad day?” She asked, thinking he and Lucille must have gotten into some kind of major fight.
“Yeah.” He shrugged. “Definitely a bad day.”
Emily frowned, she hated seeing him upset. “Whiskey kind of day, huh?” She poured him a drink but he put his hand out to stop her.
“Look sweetheart, I’m not staying today. I just wanted to drop in and give ya this.” He dropped a folder note down on the bar for her to read. He didn’t have the courage to tell her what he desperately needed to say, especially knowing it wouldn’t get him anywhere anyway.
Emily picked up the letter and looked him in his sad eyes, somehow knowing she wouldn’t see him again. “What’s this?” She asked, not really wanting to open it.
He sighed and looked away for a moment, trying to figure out what to say. “Read it later, okay? Lucille’s got cancer so I won’t be around much anymore. Just thought I’d say ‘bye’ to my favorite bar tender.” He tried to make it light, but this didn’t feel good for him, it felt like a break up.
“Oh. I’m so sorry to hear that.” She nodded, squeezing the paper in her hand. “Well I hope I see you around some time, Negan.” She forced a smile, even though no part of her felt like smiling.
“Me too, princess.” He walked out, feeling more broken than he ever had. It was hard, knowing she was about to find out what he’d been feeling, and not being able to do anything about it. Not to mention the guilt he started to feel about having feelings for another woman while he was married.
It was tough on the both of them, but they never saw each other again. Not before the outbreak, that is.
“Yeah. The bar.” She said, slowly. She didn’t want to remember that night, but she still had his note. She carried it with her the moment she’d been forced to flee her home, knowing it was all she had left of him and the old life she’d lived.
“I’m real sorry about that Em.” He started, but she didn’t want him to finish.
“How’s Lucille? Is she-“
“Dead.” He said, abruptly. “She died while all the shit started hitting the fan. Turned into one of them.” He shrugged, feeling a little defeated. He hadn’t really talked about it before, but he knew he could trust her.
“Oh. I’m so sorry.” She hadn’t expected that answer, somehow.
“Don’t be. I’m glad she didn’t have to deal with this shit show.” He motioned around them, and she knew where he was coming from. Part of her wished she never had to deal with it too, but the other option scared her more.
“Right.” She nodded and looked out the window. She felt nervous, never did she think this opportunity would come. Honestly she figured he was dead. “So what are you doing here? On the run?”
“Never.” He said, confidently. “I run a place called The Sanctuary. It’s an old compound we fenced in. We take in everyone we can, make deals with other communities, you know.”
“Thats sounds amazing. I’ve been on my own since this started. Somehow I’m still not any good at fighting these things.” She laughed, knowing her weaknesses.
“How the hell have you been living in this without fighting?” He asked, semi amused but mostly worried.
“I just go from house to house. I board everything up and live on the food and stuff there until it runs out, then I venture off to a new home.” She wasn’t proud of the way she’d been living, and honestly she had very little contact with anyone since the beginning. It was amazing to her not only seeing someone, but seeing someone she knew.
“Come on, come to The Sanctuary with me. We got food and hot water, even beer.” The offer was enough without the luxuries he’d mentioned. She realized she still had feelings for him, and she wondered if he still felt the way he said he did in the letter. There was only one way for her to find out.
“I’d love to, thank you.”
Uncertainty
Summary: Ville and Maria were best friends, but held back feelings and a leap of faith changes it all.
Pairing: Ville Valo (HIM) x OC
He was wonderfully enamored and she was blissfully unaware. For him, it was like a bowling ball was lodged in his chest every time he saw her, every time he turned around he seemed to be looking for her in the distance. She was always on his mind and some part of him was so sick of it that he never wanted to think of her again. But when Maria said his name it was all over, back to square one. His uncertainty of it all kept him reeling.
Maria, though unaware of the inner workings of Ville’s mind, hadn’t put much thought into the man. Although she had to admit he was a sight to behold and one of the sweetest men she’d ever met, she hardly entertained the idea that someone like him would give her a second glance. To her, he was so far beyond reach that it was easier to bury any feelings of attraction toward him.
They’d met through a woman Ville had been dating, Susanna. But when that relationship fell to pieces, Maria and Ville managed to stay friends. It was an odd friendship, in the eyes of most looking from the outside in, but it was what it was. To Ville, if it was the only tie to her he could have then he would take it. She was, in some sense of the word, his muse, his lifeline to sanity when he was down and out. She had become such a staple in his life that he knew he had to do something, despite risking it all.
He invited her over to help him write, that was the excuse anyway. It wasn’t something they really ever did, as Ville liked to be alone when writing, but Maria had always expressed the desire to write with him, or even to just watch him work. She was wonderfully amazed by his beautiful songs, especially since English was not a first language for either of them. This invitation, for her, was not one to pass up. It was something so rare and valuable in her mind that she dropped all of her plans and agreed.
It wasn’t until Maria was having a hard time deciding what to wear, only after doing her make up and curling her hair, did she realize she may have had some resurfaced feelings toward Ville that she hadn’t intended to revisit. Her heart was fluttering and her hands were sweaty, small indications of nervousness. This struck her odd, they were best friends after all, seeing him was nothing new, right?
She shook off her nerves and head out to Ville’s. Thankfully he hadn’t lived far so she could easily walk. During that walk she started to feel like something was happening, like this wouldn’t be a normal visit, little did she know, she was absolutely right.
Upon entering his house, after a quiet knock and a distant “Door’s open, love,” she felt some mix her nervousness and relief. The house smelled like him, like cigarettes and pine somehow mixed. It seemed like a bad combo, but really it was a comfort to her, something familiar that made her feel warm.
She wondered around and grabbed herself a glass of wine from Ville’s stash. She knew he wouldn’t mind and she prayed it would ease her nerves. She drank half the glass, filled it again, and ascended the stairs where she knew he’d be working.
She quietly entered the room, doing her best not to disturb him, though he noticed her right away. “Thought you’d gotten lost.” He chuckled as he lowly picked at guitar strings.
“I raided your wine collection. I didn’t think you’d mind.” She shrugged and sat in front of him. She blushed as she realized she was slightly over dressed. He looked as he often did, relaxed in jeans and a long sleeve with his beanie draped over his long hair. But this, to her, was still wildly attractive. He was just as attractive to her there, like that, as he was on set of a photo shoot or on stage in front of thousands of people.
“I wouldn’t have had you brought me a glass.” He joked, knowing it would get her to laugh.
“We’ll share mine.” She offered, gaining his approval. He took the glass from her hand and slid her a piece of paper he’d all but completely destroyed with messy handwriting and scribbles. As she read it over, she soon realized it was a song.
Let me wake up in your arms
Hear you say it's not alright
Let me be so dead and gone
So far away from life
Close my eyes
Hold me tight
And bury me deep inside your heart
All I ever wanted was you, my love
You're all I ever wanted is you, my love
Your're all I ever wanted, just you
Let me never see the sun
And never see you smile
Let us be so dead and so gone
So far away from life
Just close my eyes
Hold me tight
And bury me deep inside your heart
That's the way it's always been
My heart stops beating only for you Baby
Only for your loving
As she read the script on the page, Ville quietly strummed a small tune and sang the words on the page. The lyrics written weren’t necessarily the song in its entirety, but he sang it as it was meant to be sung, hoping to impress her, and hoping she’d understand it was for her.
“That’s beautiful.” She said as he finished. “What story are you telling this time?” She asked, enthralled and wonderfully amused. “You’re always telling stories in your music.”
“This time I’m telling mine.” He smiled lightly, hoping she’d catch on. His nerves were starting to wear on him and he wondered if he’d really have the courage to tell her.
“Oh!” Maria said, somewhat surprised. “Well whatever woman is on the receiving end of this is very lucky. It’s gorgeous.” She slid the paper back to him and he picked it up and examined it. She picked up his glass of wine and took a sip, wishing it would do more to calm her.
He took a deep breath and continued on, trying to act like nothing was up. “My plan was to give this to her tonight.”
“What happened?” She asked, her heart slightly breaking for him, and somewhat for herself as well, thinking there was a woman he was in love with.
“She stole my wine and gave it back.” He almost laughed as he said it, and came even closer to laughter as he witnessed her face change from somewhat disappointment to something similar to fear.
“What?” Was all she could say. It was like her brain couldn’t form human words anymore and she was short circuiting.
He gave the paper back to her and casually strummed quiet tunes on the guitar, mostly to distract his hands of the slight shaking, and kept his eyes on her. “It’s for you, sweetheart. If you don’t feel the same-“
“No! No no, that’s not-“ She cut herself off, not knowing what the right thing was to say. “I just didn’t think you felt that way..” She laughed a little, trying to wrap her head around it.
He put the guitar aside and slid closer to her. He took her hand and held up to his chest. She looked him in his pretty green eyes as she felt his heart beating, just a little bit faster than normal. “It’s yours, if you want it.”
Maria took a deep breath to clear her mind, then a wave of bravery washed over her. She put her other hand on Ville’s face and kissed him softly, and it was unlike every other kiss she’d had. She was so aware of everything around her that she felt overwhelmed in the most fantastic way. She noticed her thumb absently running over his pronounced cheek bone, she noticed how his heart was beating faster than it had just seconds ago, and she noticed the sudden stillness of the room and how silent everything was, the only sound to be heard was the small sounds their lips made as they planted kisses on the other.
When they parted, they both understood the path they’d just chosen and how this would change things forever. It was a shining moment in each of their lives, even though it had only happened in the solitude of a small home. But now, things would be different. No more hidden feelings and nervous beginnings, from then on, it would be bliss, from their happiest moments to their most harsh fights. Life together would be worth everything, and nothing could take that away anymore. Not fear, not nerves, and certainly not uncertainty.
Baby Its Cold Outside
Summary: A snow storm hits Storybooke and it makes for a great day to stay inside ❤️ fluff piece
Pairing: Killian Jones (OUAT) x OC
“I should go, it’s snowing pretty bad out.” I said wearily as I looked outside.
Killian had been staying in a cabin somewhere on the outskirts of Storybrooke. I was glad when he moved off the Jolly Roger, he would have been freezing on the thing. It took some time, but after showing him the cabin, far away from the bustle of town, he was able to be convinced.
“More reason to stay.” He chuckled as he sat on the couch behind me.
“You know I shouldn’t do that.” I turned around and raised my brow at him. “If Emma finds out I’m within a yard of you I think she’ll have a heart attack.”
“So? I’m not seeing Emma anymore. I don’t know why you’re convinced you need to hide this from her.” He was right, but Emma hated me enough, I couldn’t imagine what she’d do if she found out I was seeing someone she’d loved and lost.
“Because pissing off the savior is probably not the key to a happy ending.” I laughed and sat next to him. He pulled me close and I leaned my head on his shoulder. “But aside from that, I should go before the storm gets worse. If I wait too long my car will get stuck.”
“Damn.” He said sarcastically, giving me a side glance that let me know he wasn’t budging.
“Killian, as much as I want to stay, I have to go.” His puppy dog eyes made me feel so many things that I knew Emma would hate me for.
“Baby, it’s bad out there.” I noticed he was picking up on things that he hadn’t known before he came to Storybrooke, like technology, actual plumbing, and yes, even pop culture.
“I see what you’re doing.” I laughed, finally deciding to give in. “It worked this time Captain, but quoting my favorite holiday songs wont work forever.”
“It worked. That’s all I care about.” He smiled and pressed his warm lips against mine. I melted into him as I often did. It was hard to be paranoid about a jealous savior when Killian made every moment with him feel so safe.
Knowing exactly what I was getting into,I bit his lip. I felt his smirk against my mouth and suddenly he picked me up and carried me to his bed. He was fierce and passionate, and I thought that was just how this was going to be, that is, until he stopped and looked me in the eyes. “What?” I asked, almost wondering if I’d done something wrong.
“I just love you.” He said, quiet and sweet.
“I love you too, Killian.” I placed a loving kiss on his lips, with which he returned a ton of small, soft kisses down my neck.
This may have not been the life I’d expected, but it was the life I wanted with him. Small moments like that made life worth living for me, even if they were fleeting. They were precious and they were mine. And no one could ever take that away. Not even the savior.
Something Sweeter
Summary: After Emma left Hook for Neal, she realized she’d made a mistake. In a twist of fate, as soon as she gets the courage to beg for his forgiveness, she finds that not only is he seeing someone else, he’s actually in love with the infamous Wendy Darling.
Pairing: Captain Hook (OUAT) x Wendy Darling (Adult/AU)
It was a night of peace, one that felt like it had been a long over due gift from the heavens. The people of Storybrooke put on a carnival, something the town hadn’t done before. It was a huge event, everyone would be there, including Wendy Darling.
Wendy wasn’t the small girl she was back when she’d befriended Peter Pan. No, she’d very much grown up, and had since seemed to switch loyalties from Pan and the lost boys to Captain Hook and his pirate crew. And not only was she loyal, but she had fallen in love with the captain himself.
As Wendy finished up getting ready for a much needed night of fun, a metallic knock rang through her apartment, originating at her front door.
“You’re a little early.” Wendy laughed as she opened the door to find her devilish pirate standing before her.
“Would you like me to leave and come back?” He chuckled, knowing she had been a stickler for being on time. It was one of those quirks he knew she’d just never be able to leave behind.
“Of course not, don’t be silly.” She rolled her eyes and followed him out to the sidewalk. They decided to walk to the carnival just as the sun started to set, as Wendy always loved seeing the bright lights of the rides and food stands against the night sky.
Wendy had been given many odd looks and curious wandering eyes. She was still fairly new in town, only having come by chance, not to mention Hook did his best to keep her out of sight as possible given the common occurrences of the town almost being destroyed.
Looks also came from the fact that she was walking hand in hand with someone that had been MIA in the months since Emma Swan broke his heart when she very publicly chose Neal over him.
Unbeknownst to the pirate, Emma had, in fact, begun to regret what she’d done. She realized she’d gotten so caught up in her thoughts of having a true family that she mistook feelings of nostalgia for love. She wasn’t in love with Neal anymore, she knew this, but what she didn’t know was that Killian was officially off the market. She had assumed he’d just been doting on her the hole time they were separated, and with the peace and happiness this night brought, she thought it was time they finally reunite.
Emma caught a glimpse of Killian sitting inside Granny’s drinking from a flask. She decided she needed to speak with him and fix what she’d broken. “Hey, can I sit?” She asked as she approached him.
Killian’s facial features changed and he suddenly looked angry, which she noted was fair. “What do you want Swan?” He asked, not looking at her.
“How are you doing? I haven’t seen you since-“
“Since you stood there in front of the whole damn town and chose your ex over me? Yeah. I know.” He was obviously still upset with her. Emma knew he’d be like this, but she had a plan.
“I’m sorry I did that. It was stupid, and honestly I think I made a mistake.” His head snapped over to her and he finally looked her in the eyes. She couldn’t tell what he was thinking or why an almost smirk crept onto his face, but she was starting to doubt herself. “I was just so stuck on having our little family together for the first time, I did it for Henry, and I did it because it felt good at the time. But I realized I should never have done that, I should have stayed with you.” She paused, hoping for a reaction, to get nothing more than an eyebrow raise. “What I’m trying to say is that I’m so sorry, and I’d really like you to give us another chance.. Please.”
“Get fucked.” He murmured as he took a swig from his flask.
“Excuse me?” Emma said, taken aback. It wasn’t at all the response she thought she’d get from him, and certainly not what she wanted to hear. “Why-“
“Swan, not only did you leave me for another man, but you did it in front of everyone. Do you have any idea how that felt?” He looked her dead in the eyes and only then did she realize that the damage could not be undone. “And now that I’ve moved on from it, I’m not just going back into it head first.”
“Well we can work it out. We can take as much time as you need. We can talk through it, spend some time getting to know each other again.” She tried reasoning but he wasn’t having it. He got up and walked toward the exit.
“I’m not interested. Thanks.” He said, very calmly as he silently put a proverbial brick wall between them as he left.
She stood at the door, half in shock. She was so disoriented that she ran right into someone who had been exiting the restroom. “Sorry!” She apologized, to someone she oddly did not recognize.
“No! I’m sorry, it was my fault.” The girl said, smiling. Even Emma was distracted for a moment by her perfect, red lipped, pout. She was beautiful, and not someone she knew. Her radar immediately went off and suspected trouble.
“Who are you? I haven’t seen you before.” Emma asked, using her old bail bondsman charm.
“Wendy Darling. And you?” She asked politely, unphased by Emma’s caution.
“Emma Swan.” She said as she looked her up and down. “So you’re friends with Peter Pan then.” It was more of a statement than a question, and she could already feel the next villain stepping forward.
“Oh, no, not at all. Peter and I haven’t been friends for quite some time.” Wendy had already been slightly informed of the drama and chaos that ensued in the town, and she was well aware of the hell Peter has put everyone through.
“Wait, if you’re Wendy, why aren’t you.. a kid? Or way old? I’m pretty confused.” Emma crossed her arms like the authoritative figure she felt she needed to be. “And what are you doing here?”
“Well I left Neverland as a child, and years later I went back. I stayed there for ages, fighting Peter. Never thought he’d end up like that.” She sighed, a sadness in her heart was always felt when she thought of her old friend.
“So you know Hook then. Does he know you’re here?” She asked, assuming they were enemies, seeing as she was once on Peter’s side.
“Are you a police officer or something?” Wendy laughs nervously. She hadn’t expected this kind of interrogation. “I need to be going.”
“Answer the question. Does Hook know you’re here?” Emma demanded, praying this would be her key to Killian’s heart. If she brought him a former enemy, he might just give her a chance.
“Enjoy the carnival, Emma.” Wendy said politely and forced her way around her. She quickly stepped outside to find Hook waiting for her. “I thought you were waiting for me inside.” She said, pulling him along.
“I ran into Emma. I had to get out of there.” He explained, not understanding what her urgency to get away was.
“Me too.” She said, slightly out of breath. “She asked me a ton of questions about myself, then she started asking about you.”
“What about me?” He asked, looking irritated.
“If you knew I was here. She must not know-“
He stopped her in her tracks and dramatically held her face between hook and hand. “That we’re madly in love with each other and plan to leave this town one day and set off for a life a sea?”
“That we aren’t enemies.” She laughed as she adores his playfulness. They kept walking and stopped to get food. They both sat under a tree and took turns eating from a bag of popcorn. The smells of food and beer danced around them as they both sat back and enjoyed the lights as the sounds of laughter filled the air. “Do you think it’s okay to be out and about like this? I feel like we’ve done a good job of hiding away for such a long time.”
“Of course it’s okay. I told you before, I’m tired of hiding you. I did this to begin with to guard you from the evil that seems to be attracted to this place. But that’s no way to live, is it?” She didn’t answer, but she was happy that he’d finally felt comfortable enough to let her be more free. He hated keeping her away from everyone, but at the time he thought it to be the safest option. Now, he was ready to give her a better life, one he wished he could have given her a long time ago.
“I suppose not Captain.” She said, a hint of playfulness sparkles in her eyes.
“You know that’s a ‘bed room only’ word.” He teased, making her blush. She was never any good at flirting, but god did he make it easy.
She leaned over and kissed his lips, she tasted the familiar spiced rum on his tongue, but his lips were slightly salty from the popcorn. “Then remind me to say it again in a few hours.”
Before he could respond, they both felt a heavy presence approaching them. It was Emma, and she stormed over to them in rage. “What the hell?” Was all she could say without throwing a complete temper tantrum.
“Do you need something, Swan?” Killian answered as he stood up and crossed his arms. Wendy stood too, but stayed close behind his right shoulder. She didn’t know Emma, but she knew she was capable of incredible things. Being in her way when she was angry didn’t sound like a great idea.
“Is this what you’ve been doing? Sneaking around with Peter Pan’s lackey?” It was hard for Wendy not to feel bad, she had a feeling that Emma still cared for Killian.
“First of all, I haven’t a reason to sneak around, so don’t call it that. Second, you left me and ran off with another man. Third, don’t bring Wendy into this, it’s between you and me.” Wendy hadn’t seen Killian this irritated since they were fighting Peter Pan.
“I apologized! I told you that I wanted to fix things! You didn't even tell me you were seeing someone.” Emma had said this as somewhat of a last resort. She hoped if she upset Wendy enough that she would leave on her own.
“And neither did you. The only difference is that you were seeing someone while you were supposed to be in a relationship with me. So do not bring this into my relationship with Wendy.” The words coming from his mouth felt like fire on Emma’s skin. She hated hearing him talk about another woman, and she hated seeing him kiss one even more.
“You’re pretty mad for someone who is apparently moved on from it.” Emma smirked, taking a side glance at Wendy to make sure she was listening.
“I have moved on from it. I’m mad because you’re standing there like I owe you something. I owe you nothing, Swan.” It was the first time he’d even slightly raised his voice, and it left Emma stunned and frustrated.
Wendy placed a hand, lovingly, on Killian’s arm. “Let’s go.” She said quietly in Emma’s silence.
“Aye, love.” He nodded, not breaking eye contact with Emma. Deep inside he wanted to tell Emma everything about how she’d made him feel, and how much better his life had been since Wendy came along, but he knew it would help nothing.
As they walked away, Killian could feel Emma’s eyes on them, and although it infuriated him, he ignored th feelings of rage and took a deep breath. He wrapped his arm around Wendy and kissed her temple, half because he loved her, half because he knew Emma would be just as angry as he was when this all began. Hook may have become a better person, but deep down revenge still felt sweet. And in that moment, nothing was sweeter than the love he got to share with Wendy.
Beyond Redemption
Summary: Bam’s younger sister has a crush on her brother’s best friend Ville Valo. Little does she know, Ville has had his eye on he for quite a while.
Pairing: Ville Valo (HIM) x OC
It had been a long day, show days always were. My brother, Bam, had flown me and a few of his friends to Finland too see his favorite band, HIM, play at some club. It seemed extreme, to travel so far for an hour show, but Bam himself was extreme. Me, on the other hand, had different reasons for agreeing to go.
Ever since the first time I’d met Ville, I’d been enamored by him. We met on the set of the Join Me in Death video shoot. It was honestly just two days of me watching this beautiful person performing in front of a camera, and doing whatever I could to avoid making eye contact with him. I had an easy time speaking with everyone else, but Ville was different territory. He was seemingly moody and so gorgeous beyond words that I couldn’t bring myself to say “hello.” But that didn’t stop him from making my heart sink like an anchor.
He’d been talking with Bam and of he asked to be introduced to me. It started with a simple “Hello darling, how are you?” And ended with me so nervous and red cheeked that I never wanted to see those earthy green eyes look my way again.
As luck would have it, it wasn’t even close to the last time I’d see him. He started coming to Pennsylvania to visit Bam, and suddenly it seemed like he was around every other month or so. He always made a point to talk to me when I was around, although I assumed he was just being kind, not wanting me to feel left out of the conversations as I often was when Bam’s friends and filming crew were around.
I’d started getting to know Ville a little better, and I found that he was just as sweet and charming as I’d secretly hoped he be. He had this wondrous, spiritual way about him, and as intimidating as that, mixed with his shyness I later discovered, was, I couldn’t back away from him. I thought about him far more often than I ever intended or wanted, I even started missing him when he was away too long. That’s when the texting began.
Ville wasn’t much of a texter, honestly he didn’t like phones much at all, but once I’d been brave enough to send the first text, it never seemed to stop. I had been sitting in my bed horribly late one night, knowing it was well into day time for him. I hadn’t seen him in a few months, and although I had no business missing him, I just did. I forced myself to rewrite the same text over and over until I was brave enough to hit send. It was even chance that we exchanged numbers in the first place, only having done so because Bam’s phone had died one day.
To my surprise, after sending “Hey Ville. It’s Ruby, how are you doing? Haven’t seen you in a while.” I got a text back. I felt like a moron the moment I sent it, but once I got a response my heart went into overdrive and I could no longer think about my own embarrassment.
“Hey Rue. Good to hear from you, doing okay. Yourself?” Rue. That was his nickname for me, only he used it and honestly it made my heart thud in my chest.
“I’m good. Bam has been missing you.” I wanted to divert the subject from me and blame my random message on something else.
“Well can you blame him? Lol” I was surprised to see him joking with me, although it made sense. We were becoming pretty good friends at that point.
The conversation somehow ended up going on and on for weeks. We talked about things as big as life and the universe and religion and went as small as what we were eating for lunch. I’d learned that he had been single for a long time and that he often got lonely living in such a large tower alone. My heart often broke for him, but he didn’t have to know that. He started calling me, sending me recordings of songs he was working on, lyrics he either liked or wanted opinions on, it was like we were always in the same room without ever seeing each other.
I never let on to Bam who I was talking to, I found it easier to lie and hide it. I knew Bam, and he never would have been okay with me talking to his best friend. Oh no, he’d let me know long ago that Ville was off limits. But rules didn’t mean much to Ville, and they started to not mean much to me either.
This continued on until Bam decided it was time to go to Finland. He bought my air fare, along with that of a few others, and we jetted off to the most gorgeous country I’d ever seen. Show days were tiresome, with Bam meeting fans and hooking up with old Finnish friends. It was a never ending social train and I was just ready for the concert.
I was feeling nervous and horribly jittery the whole day, knowing I’d get to see Ville for the first time since all of this started. It was worse that we didn’t have much time to talk yet that day, as he was busy preparing for his show.
We sat at a VIP table close to the stage, too close if you were to ask me. My stomach was in knots and I felt almost nauseous. The lights went dark and band members began emerging on stage. The moment Ville appeared in front of the mic, the crowd went insane and I thought I might cry.
The loud bass thud of Venus Doom began to play and I was filled with some kind of longing to hear him sing. My wish was granted far sooner than it felt. His deep voice rang through the building, and it was equally powerful as it was melodic. It was hard to remember that this was the same guy I’d called on my way home from work just to vent, the same guy I would send a picture of my perfectly created salad because why not? The same guy I’d heard laughing over a long distance call about nothing and challenging me about everything under the sun. On that stage he looked larger than life, he was very obviously adored by so many people, he was so beautiful, he couldn’t possibly be the same man that wasted so much time talking to me, even flirting with me at times.
By the end of that set I felt even more anxious and nervous than I had before. I wasn’t sure what we were going to do until Bam read a new text he’d just gotten out loud. “I’ll meet you at the bar when the crowd clears out.” He read to let everyone know it was time to drink. “Let go wait guys! Time to get drunk!” He laughed and his mini entourage followed.
As I sat down with them, a text case to my phone that I read discreetly. “Meet me out back in the alley.” My heart dropped and I felt overwhelmed.
“I’ll be back, I’m going to get some fresh air. I don’t feel great.” I told Bam, even though he barely paid any attention, thank goodness.
I went out the front door and circled my way around back. I almost had to tip toe through the fans who were amassed at the tour bus, waiting to get a glimpse of the man I was secretly on my way to meeting.
When I turned the corner, I saw a door swing open. Ville walked out and lit a cigarette. My hands were shaking and my nerves almost stopped me from marching forward to meet him. It didn’t take long for him to notice me coming. “Rue, sweetheart, how are you?” He asked as he hugged me. That wonderful scent of cigarettes and whatever concert venues smell like hit me hit me like a ton of bricks. It was cold out, and even being so, he only wore a long sleeve shirt and his body was warm enough for me to feel through my jacket.
“I’m great! I missed you.” I smiled, wondering if that was a weird thing to say.
“I missed you too, darling.” He smiled and gently held my hand in his. It felt as if it could have been platonic if he wanted it to be, but it didn’t feel like he wanted it to be. “I’m glad you came, it’s sort of strange seeing you all the way here in Finland. How are you liking it?”
“I haven’t gotten to see much, but what I have seen has been beautiful. I hope Bam saves some time to do some exploring.” Bam had been to Finland many times, and I knew he wasn’t as in awe as I had been. He probably hadn’t even thought of the touristy thing.
“I’ll be sure you get the grand tour.” He winked, making me blush. He was too sweet and too good to be true. I knew he had his flaws and his quirks that sent a lot of women away, but they were not things that bothered me.
“I’d like that.” I said almost too quietly. We stood too close to each other to be speaking as friends do, I could feel it, what we both wanted. It was like his lips were calling mine, and that small moment of silence between us only confirmed it.
“Kiss me.” He whispered in my ear and lingered close. I knew why he was doing this, he didn’t like making the first move. He didn’t feel right kissing someone for the first time without their verbal consent or them doing it first. We’d talked about that, and part of me expected this, but I underestimated how it would feel. I expected the butterflies and the nerves, I didn’t expect the immense amount of bravery it would take.
I took a second to think, to take in the moment, before softly placing a kiss on his lips. He then took control as he strategically put one hand on my face and the other on my back. He pulled me as close as he could and somehow it still didn’t feel close enough. As the kiss went on, it quickly became something more intense and almost desperate than what either of us had intended. I bit his lip, making him smile against my mouth. It was such a long awaited moment and even then it exceeded my wildest dream.
We parted and stared into each other’s eyes for a moment, and I couldn’t believe there was a time when I never wanted those beautiful green eyes to see me again. “I think we’ve just gotten ourselves into much more than planned. ” He said, a little exasperated.
“Yeah. I agree.” I said with a smile. I didn’t mean to feel this way, of course. I assumed this would end in us fading out and never talking unless Bam was around. After how that felt and the look in his eyes, knowing it matched mine, we were in deep and there would be hell to pay. But neither of us cared. We felt a small touch of our first blooming of love, and there was no going back, no matter what the cost.
We were beyond redemption, and it was beautiful.
Summary: Klaus has lost his greatest love to another man and confides in his old friend Stefan.
Pairing: The Originals - Klaus x OC
It was the beginning of autumn, the once warm summer air had turned into that familiar, crisp breeze. The earth seemed like it was graying, dark clouds hung from the sky like curtains, surely it was about to rain.
Leaves of red, brown, and orange crunched beneath Klaus’ feet as he walked aimlessly down the sidewalk. He took in the wonderful sights and smells like he had done every fall since his birth, except this time, it left a sinking feeling in his stomach. It was her favorite time of year. He felt, deep down, that he should have been sharing this gloomy day with her, but instead she was probably cozying up with someone else.
As The hybrid walked into an old, musty, bar, that honestly looked the same as it had almost one hundred years prior, he pushed the thoughts of jealousy and anguish from his mind and took a seat at a booth by the window.
“Hi, I’m Rachel, what can I get for ya?” A waitress asked as she smiled sweetly. She was pretty and upbeat, something Klaus has grown fond of in someone else and noticed upon seeing the young woman.
“Cab, please. That’s it.” He answered, barely over a whisper.
“House okay?” She asked, receiving nothing more than a nod from him. As she left, he noticed the quiet chatter around him but was too lost in his own head to pay any mind to the locals and their petty, human, and otherwise useless gossip.
He stared out the window, drowning himself in his own thoughts as he watched the storm roll in. He was so focused that he hadn’t even noticed when Rachel set the glass of wine down in front of him and left. Who knew how long it had been there before he saw it?
Soon, after 2 glasses of wine and a cigarette, something jolted Klaus back to reality. “Hey boss.” It was Stefan, he slid into the booth across the table and greeted him. “What’s up?”
“I don’t want to be bothered, so if you don’t mind..” he said, trailing off.
“I heard you and Lily broke up. And-“ he was cut short by the darkest of glares given by the temperamental hybrid. Klaus has already gone through a somewhat murderous spree since it all happened. Since he’d gotten out of of his anger, he’d been more so dealing with the burden of loss, but Stefan was quick to give a much gentler tone, as to not bring back the cold blooded killer. “Tell me what happened. “
“Why do you care Stefan? Klaus asked after an exasperated sigh. “You have had a lost the woman you love more times than I’m sure you’d like to admit, and you sure as hell didn’t come to me for advice.”
“I’m just trying help.” He gave Klaus a stern look, letting him know he was just genuinely trying to be kind to his once best friend.
The hybrid took another glance out the window as he started his short story. “I went to her house to see her, everything seemed fine.” As he spoke he could feel this heart practically hanging from his chest. He didn’t like confiding in people, but who else was going to do this for him? “There was a pack of cigarettes on the table...” The event of that day flashed through his mind, bringing him back to the first moment he could remember feeling heartbroken in ages.

”Lillian! Come, I have a gift for you.” Klaus called as he entered his girlfriend’s home. She was still in her pajamas and her hair looked disheveled, nevertheless Klaus found her mesmerizing. She was so beautiful and perfect in every way in his eyes.
As she came to the doorway where her loving boyfriend stood, bearing a bouquet of flowers and a box from Tiffany’s. Her eyes were already red and swollen, she smelled like salt and Klaus automatically knew something was wrong. “Thank you.” She almost choked out as she took the flowers from him and put them in a vase. As she filled the vase with water, Klaus noticed something out of the ordinary.
“Cigarettes?” He questioned, knowing well she didn’t smoke. “Who’s are they?” He asked calmly, his interest only slightly piqued by the odd object. He lazily pick up the pack and examined it, confused by it.
Lily’s heart sank and he could hear it pick up in speed. “Oh, those. I don’t-“ she started, unsure of how to finish that sentence.
“What’s wrong, love? What’s going on?” He asked, his paranoia kicked in, or so he thought, and he was on edge.
Tears were already streaming down her face when she managed to choke out “Klaus, I uh- I need to tell you something.” He waited silently while she stood before him. Her body was shaking and her breaths were uneven. He reached out to take her trembling hand, but she pulled it away, unable to look him in the eye. “I made a mistake.”
Her words hung in the air, Klaus didn’t quite catch on to what she meant yet. “What are you talking about?” He asked as he felt anxiety rise.
“Klaus, those cigarettes aren’t mine. They belong to man I met a while back. “ Before he could get a word in edgewise, she blurted out “We slept together last night.”
Klaus could feel the color draining in his face, he felt nauseous and immediately wanted to kill whoever smoked the Camels in his hand. “You did what?” He asked, and to Lily’s surprise, he didn’t sound angry, but worse, he sounded crushed.
“I’m so sorry.” She sobbed, wiping her tears with her sleeve. “I never meant for that, I just happened and I feel terrible.” She was already begging for his forgiveness, desperation haunted her voice and left the air in the house feeling cold and stale.
He took a step back, honestly terrified of a human for the first time in his entire supernatural life. “How could you do that?” He asked, so calmly that you’d have thought he was expecting this.
The hybrid’s anger was familiar, something Lily knew very well how to deal with, but this? This hurt he was showing? That was all new territory and she suddenly felt so distant and far from him that he wondered if her heart would give out on her from being so heavy. “I’m sorry, I love you. Please don’t-“
“What, kill him?” He asked, holding back a laugh that held no happiness, only absurdity. He took another step back and threw down the cigarettes and Tiffany’s box on the table. “No, no, I won’t touch your new lover.” His tone was venomous and the look on his face was a look that came from the devil himself. “You keep him, revel in your new love.” She knew this was a threat, but of what nature she was unsure.
“Please, we can work this out. I’m so sorry, let me-“ He backed up again as she took steps toward him as she begged. “Don’t go, we can fix this. Please, you know how much we love each other.”
“Our love was a mistake.” He blurted out, suddenly uncaring of anything in the world. His old, thousand year old heart was falling into pieces and there was nothing he could do. “And I don’t make the same mistake twice.” As harsh and angry his words were, his demeanor was still relatively calm.
He heard Lily fall to the floor and sob when he stormed out of her house. Such a large part of him wanted to go back in and tell her they’d work it out, he was desperate to coddle her and wipe away her tears, but he had to stand his ground and protect his own heart. Love had only proven to be heartache once more.

“They were his.” Klaus continued to Stefan as he thought about that damn pack of Camels. “She admitted she slept with him and I left. End of discussion.”
Stefan had noticed Klaus looking down at his phone, as if he were expecting a call. “She won’t call, you know.” He advised, and the look of Klaus’ face confirmed he believed the same thing. “Look, I know you love her, but it’s over.” Klaus’ knew it just as well as Stefan, but hearing it out loud was different. Hearing it out loud made it seem far more real.
“So what do I do now?” Klaus asked, pleading for an answer, something that would take the pain from his chest if only for a moment.
“Now, you and me go get some drinks. What do you say?” This made Klaus remember why he and Stefan were so close all those years ago. He was always so much more than a friend, he was a brother.
“Yeah. Let’s forget tonight.” He said, allowing Stefan to lead him from the booth to the bar.
Stefan looked at Klaus with a sympathy no one else would. And just before he dropped the subject, he put a hand on his friend’s shoulder and said “it’s going to hurt for a while man, but you’ll be fine.”
