That is the last thing he remembers, and Stiles does remember it. That girl, sitting on the edge of his bed, was not a dream, not part of his imagination. Granted, he doesn’t know her name, but that does not give Theo, Allison, Lydia, Jackson, and Danny a reason to stare at him as if he’s gone mental. Stiles doesn’t even remember how he managed to sit at the table for the popular kids at his old high school when he knows for a fact that he already graduated and went to college.
Well, except that he does remember.
He remembers being with Jackson and Danny in Little League. He remembers Theo at his side, grinning broadly as Jackson trash-talked baseball just because he was terrible at it. He remembers butting heads with Lydia during a spelling bee because they would always end up in a tie. He remembers Theo being obsessed with giving him mix tapes. He remembers Jackson stepping up for him when a guy bullied him in middle school. He remembers the bike rides, remembers them running through the streets, remembers cheering with Lydia and Theo on the bleachers during Danny and Jackson’s lacrosse games. He remembers starting high school, walking the halls for the first time with Lydia, their arms linked, followed by Jackson, Danny, and Theo. He remembers joining the school’s baseball team with Theo. He remembers not going into the woods that night because he went to the movies with the others. He remembers Allison coming to school, remembers Lydia being excited she finally doesn’t have to be the only girl.
He remembers falling in love with Theo.
He remembers two lives, and every single time he wakes up, he is afraid to find himself in his college dorm room, realising that all of it was just a dream. But it never happens. Somehow, this is his new reality - this is his second chance.
