BRPZ - Interest Poll UPDATE

Hey, guys! We’ve had a few questions from people wanting to edit their form (add/remove pairing, etc) and we’ve now made some changes to the form. There is now a link to edit once you’ve submit that you can revisit anytime while the poll is open. (As the link allows anyone to edit, please keep it private to yourself!)

Anyone who has already submitted can get in touch with the admins either on our official Twitter/Tumblr/Discord so we can send you the link!

Rare Pair Info

Hey, guys! We wanted to make a clarification post because we’ve been getting a few questions on what qualifies as rare pairs in our zine. While we’ve mentioned our criteria briefly in the FAQ and interest poll, it might have been a little too vague.

As mentioned in the FAQ and the Interest Poll, both incest and canon ships have been excluded, but this didn’t necessarily mean that the remaining ships were rare; we needed to have other criteria in place.

We decided to manually go through all of Bleach’s ship tags in AO3, and tabulate the number of works for each one. From this, we exclude the ships with more than 300 works (from December 01, 2020 when we finalised the criteria) for a simple and objective cutoff point. We did think of a lower number, but we still wanted to include as many as we can.

We had discussed other determinations at length but were concerned about negative responses as to why we chose X or Y, and not A or B, and this simple metric was the most objective solution. We included the interest poll to see which ships people were interested in, including those we did not identify ourselves or find in AO3. We decided that combining these two methods was the best option, and would determine the zine’s content.

We do apologize to anyone who feels excluded from this Zine, but we are a small mod team trying to have a simple determination for inclusion, and we are doing this out of love for one of our favorite series and a fandom we’ve enjoyed and participated in. We hope that you support our zine by either creating for it or enjoying it. Happy shipping, everyone!
