This book is exactly what the title says. We follow the life of Addie Larue. Her struggles, her life, it’s basically like a biography. The writing is absolutely magical and mesmerizing. It’s poetic and sad but also beautiful in its own way. I didn’t give it a 5 ⭐️ because the first half was a tiny bit too hard for me to go through, but I kept going on cuz the writing got me hooked. This story deserves all the hype. The ending was not sad or happy, it was just how it is. Addie’s story has definitely found a very deep place in my heart, and I’ll probably never get over it. “I remember you” I wanted to tear up when I heard that. It was so heartbreaking. Schwab, you got me. You evil wicked thing. You got me. I feel like everyone should give this book a try. Also, thank you to @waanika.afzal for bearing with my thoughts on Luc 😂. I love him 😌 My ratings: 4.5 ⭐️ #bookstagram #booknerd #malaysianreader #bookfreak #ilovebooks #readerofinstagram #reader #yabooks #youngadultfiction #newbie #bibliophile #books #fiction #fictionbooks #bookcharacters #bookstagrammalaysia #bookstagramalaysia #tiktokrecs #monday #shortreviews #longreviews #bookreview #addielarue #theinvisiblelifeofaddielarue #veschwab (at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTY9vlnPN-p/?utm_medium=tumblr
“He left you the fortune, Avery, and all he left us is you” If your are planning to read this book, I would suggest you to not know anything about it except for the fact that, take this book as a scavenger hunt. This book is about twisted riddles, searching for clues, a puzzle to be solved. That’s it. Stop right here and go pick it up now. Tobias Hawthorne left his entire fortune to Avery Grambs. Avery Grambs, don’t know who is Tobias Hawthorne. In order to receive her inheritance, she has to stay in the Hawthorne estate for one year. The best part, the late Hawthorne’s family members, including the four grandsons, who grew up expecting to inherit their grandfather’s fortune, lives there. Nash, Grayson, Jameson, Alexander. Four grandsons. I loved the characters, the clues, the solving. Jameson and Avery pairs up to find out why his grandfather left everything to Avery, and Grayson believes that Avery is a con-woman and is willing to do anything to bring her down. Istg. I cannot pick between Grayson and Jameson. Both of them are hdbshsjsjsks. Like. Whut. Who side am I on? Why are both hawt. What dis sorcery. What I dislike? NOTHING. THATS THE BEST PART. I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS BOOK. I CANT FIND ONE WRONG THING BOUT DIS BOOK. ISTG JENNIFER DID AN AMAZING JOB AND IM MIND-BLOWN. THIS BOOK IS TRULY MAGNIFICENT AND WOULD SQUEEZE UR BALLS SO TIGHT THAT WOULD MAKE YOU SIT ROOTED TO ONE SPOT UNTILL YOURE DONE WITH IT. TRULY PAGE TURNING AND EXCITING AND THRILLING. I DONT HAVE ENOUGH WORDS TO DESCRIBE HOW MUCH I LOVED IT. GOD. OMG I CANT STOP CAPSLOCKING CUZ ITS SO GOOD AND I CANT STOP THINKING ABOUT THE HOT BOIS. HDDJKAIHS HELP ME. Okay I’m gonna stop. And I have decided to keep my reviews here short, unless if I REALLY LOVE THE BOOK AND FEEL LIKE RANTING ABOUT IT. so yes 😌😌 My ratings: 5 ⭐️ #bookstagram #booknerd #malaysianreader #bookfreak #ilovebooks #readerofinstagram #reader #yabooks #youngadultfiction #newbie #bibliophile #books #fiction #fictionbooks #bookcharacters #bookstagrammalaysia #bookstagramalaysia #tiktokrecs #monday #shortreviews #longreviews #bookreview #theinheritancegames #inheritancegames #jenniferlynnbarnes (at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTQ9J16PoKx/?utm_medium=tumblr
#q : Do you prefer short reviews or long reviews? I def prefer short reviews. Especially if that book is on my tbr. I like to go into a book without knowing much details about it and sometimes, long reviews really ruins it for me 🤡 I’m thinking of keeping my reviews over here short and brag more on GoodReads. To everyone who reads my review, idek if you guys do but if, you guys do, what would you prefer over here? Long or short? Lemme know! Oh and make sure to add me on Goodreads! Happy Independence Day yall ✨ #qotd : what’s your fave read for this month? Here’s my monthly wrap up hehe. Good morning yall 🤍✨ #qotd : short reviews or long reviews? I am finally gonna start reading The Inheritance Games. It’s one of my most anticipated reads, ever since it came out actually, but I never had the chance to get into it because of slump nd life happened. I’ve been wondering if I should start reviewing on my goodreads only and not over here. But I wanted to know your thoughts on it first! Lemme know!! Ps. Looking forward to my new full feed. I’m trying not to spam yall. Hello there. I had people texting me asking if I liked the pic they were about to post, or if they shouldn’t post something. I always told them do what you like. Post what you want. But I felt like a hypocrite saying that cuz my theme, isn’t me at all. So I decided to change it. My feed is beautiful and I love it I truly do. But I felt like it just wasn’t… me? It’s too light and airy and idk man it just didn’t feel like me at all. I’m more of a quiet and dark person, and the butterfly-ish airy happy chirpy theme just didn’t satisfy me. It felt too fake. I’ve been thinking of changing my feed for like two weeks, but I got so scared cuz it looks so good and I didn’t wanna ruin it. Plus, lotta you love it and I was just scared for the change. But I realized that I’m here to read and have fun, not to satisfy other people or aim for perfection. So, it took me a lot of self convincing, but here it is, a darker and cleaner feed, just how I want my bookstagram to be. You’ll never be happy if you aim for perfection and keep wanting to please people. So post what you like, be who you really wanna be and never forget that bookstagram isn’t some kind of photography competition or a race with other people. It’s about having fun and exploring your interest in the book field. I hope this helps some of you out there who’s always second guessing their feed/post. Take this as your sign 🤍 Just read more books and do what makes you happy✨ Love, Tash 🤍✨ #bookstagram #booknerd #malaysianreader #bookfreak #ilovebooks #readerofinstagram #reader #yabooks #youngadultfiction #newbie #bibliophile #books #fiction #fictionbooks #bookcharacters #bookstagrammalaysia #bookstagramalaysia #tiktokrecs #bookmail #reels #reelstips #review #bookdepository #feed (at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTJU_J4LBNR/?utm_medium=tumblr
I’ve never watched Titanic. Well up until last week, cuz I felt like I was obligated to watch it before I dive into this book plus @kittiepages would’ve totally disowned me if I hadn’t. Please note that this book is very different from the movie. Luck of the Titanic is a story about family, survival, and the eight Chinese people that boarded the ship. We follow the perspective of Valora Luck, half Chinese half British woman, who smuggles herself into the ship to find her twin brother Jamie. What I like: The Chinese representative in the book. Up until I read this book, I didn’t know that there were Chinese survivors in the titanic tragedy that happened back in 1912. Apparently, they were called cowards for surviving it and had them shipped off under the Chinese exclusion act as soon as they landed in America. I do feel like the book was a little Braggy on the first half. It would’ve been better if the ending was longer tho. I felt like it was rushed and it didn’t really let me process the entire book properly. I had high hopes for this book but I felt like it kinda let me down. I was hoping to see more of the historical part of this book but the brag on the first half really ruined it for me. I felt like they were unnecessary and didn’t really make sense. I wish there were more character development on Bo. He was good but I couldn’t feel anything for him. Stacey Lee’s writing is so easy to grasp that half of the time I didn’t really feel like I was reading a historical fiction. So I think this would be a great start for people who wants to give a try to historical fictions. Plus, it’s Titanic, so like ya know, very easy to understand. To conclude: this book has potential, it’s still good, but I think it could’ve been better. But I would def recommend to historical fiction starters cuz I think it’s perfect for them. Truly, Madly, Deadly. By Hannah Jayne. Sawyer Dodd is a star athlete, a straight-A student, and the envy of every other girl who wants to date Kevin Anderson. When Kevin died in a tragic car crash, Sawyer is stunned. Then she opens her locker to find a note: 𝖄𝖔𝖚'𝖗𝖊 𝖜𝖊𝖑𝖈𝖔𝖒𝖊. I’ve had a hard time placing my thoughts on this book. It’s pretty quick and very light. I just think the plot was a lil messed up and it was just extremely hard to see where it was going at one point. The plot just went boom bada boom without warning and I’m like… THIS? WHERE THE HELL DID THIS COME FROM?? The Author’s writing style annoyed the heck outta me, it felt like she kept slipping from third POV to first POV very often. And I’m like. Whut. I just couldn’t see it clearly. It messed me up. The plot and the story has potential. I think it could’ve been very well done if it was weaved neatly together rather than boom bada boom. The ending threw me off tbh. There were no hints or signs of it which kinda irked me. It just didn’t make sense and I’m like whut? They couldn’t have talked about this? But then again, it’s YA and very juvenile but to take it up to a thriller extent, I think it’s overly done. And I hated the fact that at the ending they made it look like Cooper saved the day. It annoyed the heck outta me. Sawyer is a very strong woman and is capable of saving herself. Cooper was just a side character. Leave it at that. Overall, I think this book has potential, and maybe I’m just too old to read it? Idk. I had high hopes for this one but it kinda let me down. I did like the high school moments which were fun. And I gotta admit, this book did bring its thrill. In its own way. Mini Review! I really enjoyed this book, it was emotional for me due to personal reasons, but despite that, oh this book is definitely a perfect guilty pleasure read! And Jesse ward is such a hot ink. 🥵🥵 Would I recommend? Yes. But please be warned that it’s not suitable for young adults. You’ve been warned. This book has some major mature things going on. CW: Toxicity and mature scenes. 18+. Also thanks to @kittiepages for recommending me this book! Def worth it. #qotd : am I crazy to feel like I should change my theme?? 🤡🤡 #aotd : I probably am. The Spanish Love Deception by @thebibliotheque - enemies to lovers - Workspace romance - Fake dating trope - Tension. - Travel - Wedding - Crazy family - Love - One bed trope - Slow burn. Like hella slow burn. - A spice that’s actually worth calling spice. Not smut. Actual spice. 🌶🌶. I was super scared to pick this book up cuz it was so hyped up and I just- ugh. I get it. Aaron Blackford. The man of my dreams. Elena did him so well 😭😭 he was perfect. Like just. Perfect af 😭😭I want him. God, if he’s in some kind of alternate universe watching me scream about him on my ig story, I hope he knows that I’m so fucking in love with him 😭 I think I’ve squealed enough on my ig story, if you don’t know, peep that highlight and watch me go crazy on him. So I’m just gonna go over the plot and the story. - If you liked the hating game, you’re gonna love this one. Even if you didn’t enjoy THG, I’m prettyyyy sure you’ll like this one cuz TSLD is similar and different at the same time! - I felt like the book could’ve been shorter. And the chapters were long like LONGGGG. for a contemporary, this was definitely a little bit longer than I would’ve liked but it’s not too bad. - (Last time I promise) BLACKFORD IS THE LOML AND DONT YALL DARE STEAL HIM FROM ME. THE LINE IS BIG AND IM ALREADY KINDA SHARING IT WITH LOTSA PPL. SO SHOOSH. U CAN READ HIM, ADMIRE HIM, AND RESPECT HIM. BUT STOP RIGHT THERE CUZ IM TAKING HIM. “What you read will taste so bad at times, you’ll want to spit it out, but you’ll swallow these words and they will become part of you, part of your gut, and you will hurt because of them.” That’s exactly how I feel about This book. Verity By @colleenhoover The book starts off with blood splattered all over our main character’s shirt, Lowen. Lowen is a struggling writer. A week after her mother’s death, she gets a job offer by Jeremy Crawford, to complete the remaining books in a successful series that his wife has been unable to finish writing because of her injuries. Lowen plans to go to the Crawford residence in order to get all of Verity’s notes and materials for her to get started with the writing. What she didn’t expect to find in Verity’s home office was an unfinished Autobiography that Verity didn’t intend for anyone to read. My ass felt goosebumps the entire time I was reading this book. It was bone chilling, creepy asf, so dark that i couldn’t stop thinking about it and the twist- Ma’am I- I- I’m speechless. The way Hoover wrote this book, my respect for her went 📈📈📈📈. LIKE HOW DID SHE WRITE THAT. LIKE TF- the dark and creepy admissions Verity made in the autobiography shook me to the core. Istg the first night I read this book, I had a hard time to convince myself to fall asleep. I feel like the best way to read this book is to not to know anything about it at all, which is why I’m only stating 8% of what the book is about, you have to read the book and experience the creepy chills to understand why I’m so freaked out. Overall, prepare to shit your pants when you read Verity. ⚠️This Book contains⚠️ - sex, child abuse, Grief, violence, self harm and death. ✨ It means people who make mistakes usually learn from them. That doesn’t make them hypocrites. It makes them experienced.✨ Regretting you by Colleen Hoover 4.5/5 ⭐️ The book follows the perspective of a mom, and her daughter. Morgan would do anything to stop her daughter Clara from making the same mistakes she did at 17. They both find it difficult to agree with each other and coexist in the same house. The peace bringer, Chris, Clara’s father and Morgan’s husband, is the only person who’s holding up the home and not turning it upside down. When the house is starting to fill with betrayal, anger and grief, things are looking bad between Morgan and Clara. This was my first read of Colleen Hoover’s work and I have so many things to say. My thoughts: 1. I could never, ever ever be Morgan. The way she handles with betrayal, I could never be like her. 2. CoHo did an excellent job in breaking my heart. 3. The way she revealed the twist and plot was just *chefs kiss* amazing. 4. I have mad respect for Jonah. The way he took responsibility (not telling you for what cuz u gotta read to find that out) was just beautiful and I don’t think everyone would man up like him. I cant find the words to explain how much this book left me thinking. The twist is so heartbreaking I don’t think everyone can bear it. I just- I have no words. I cant go on with this review cuz my head is just floating everywhere and I cant get the words out of my throat. It didn’t make me ugly cry, but it definitely left an impact on me. It definitely did. All I’m gonna say is this, If you’re ever looking for a book that’s gonna make you think about the plot every. Single. Day. This ones for you. If you’re planning to read this, please read this without knowing anything about it. (It’s definitely worth it) Thx to @aliahaynes 4 making me read her book. 🥺🤍 WARNING: ANXIETY, PANIC AND GRIEF 18+ SCENES (DRUGS, SEX ETC.) #bookstagram #booknerd #malaysianreader #bookfreak #ilovebooks #readerofinstagram #reader #yabooks #youngadultfiction #newbie #bibliophile #books #fiction #bookstagrammalaysia #bookstagramalaysia #tiktokrecs #regrettingyou #colleenhoover #sadbooks #grief #cry (at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQXarLUr20G/?utm_medium=tumblr

As a woman who’s very open minded in an outdated and closed off society, I struggle to accept many concepts of Islam. I truly feel like I’m a woman who disagrees with a lot of things that’s been noted down as “Islamic rules”. But what I did found out eventually is that, it’s the society and not the religion. I don’t believe that wearing a hijab is a wajib deed, or that smoking weed is haram. I have a different opinion on aurat, and I’m sure many of us out there feel different too. And I truly appreciate it. The fact that Allah gave us many opinions on our religion is truly mind blowing when you reallyyyy think about it. I finished this book last night in one sitting. I never expected to learn so much from it because I usually disagree with most of the things society agrees with. And I was truly amazed by how Mizi Wahid brought up the struggles and successes that us humans are facing, and that only Allah has the power on it. Just because I sin a lot, or have a different view on Islam, doesn’t mean that I love Allah any less. I truly am grateful to him and I can’t thank him enough for all the blessings he’s given me. This book helped me see that there are a lot of ways to strengthen our relationship with The Almighty and that we are not perfect at all. We are extremely vulnerable and careless, but if we just put our trust and repent to him, he’s the most merciful. To conclude, no matter how much we try to be good and religious, somewhere at some point we will make mistakes and as long as we learn from it, and never give up on our prayers, Insha Allah, we’ll be fine 🤍 #bookstagram #booknerd #malaysianreader #bookfreak #ilovebooks #readerofinstagram #reader #yabooks #youngadultfiction #newbie #bibliophile #books #fiction #fictionbooks #bookcharacters #bookstagrammalaysia #bookstagramalaysia #tiktokrecs #allah #alhamdulillah #religious (at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQLK-awLx9v/?utm_medium=tumblr
