genuinely so sad and angry about bookdepository closing because there aren't that many bookshops that can compare on a lot of points, really, but learning they were owned by amazon ? man.

Fifty-Eight Years Ago
Today marks fifty-eight years since JFK was assassinated in Dallas—shot by (I assume) the lone gunman Lee Harvey Oswald.
I happened to be in town in 2008 and so made a pilgrimage to Dealey Plaza. I thought it was amazing how the place seemed unchanged. (I had never been there prior to that, mind you, but it seemed like no new construction or alterations had been made since the famous footage of Abraham Zapurder was taken.)
I had a small, awful, early digital camera and made these exposures—a couple stitched together to form larger files. I feel the “X” painted on the roadway to be in bad taste somewhat. I was but two when it happened, and used to think I remembered it, but now I figure I was most likely recalling poring over a special edition of LIFE magazine a few years later.

Whoops?
🖤New Books 🖤
Well, I must say one thing.
Since the Bookdepository REALLY hiked up their prices, I am glad I bought so many books in the years before. Cause that kind of spending is at an end.
My eyes must be deceiving me o.O
I still don't know
What does it mean
to be called beautiful
When the real beauty of you
is hidden in scars that you cover
in the fear of being called ugly.
