I don’t know what do you think guys, but in my opinion this could be the saddest moment in the manga until now.

I’ve heard a lot of complaints about Emma Watson’s singing as Belle and re listening to the music, yeah I hear that auto tune

But she isn’t like a bad singer? For softer songs, mainly the ones made solely for the movie, she sounds fine.

But its the songs from the original that you really hear the auto-tune. And its because Emma was not made to hit those big high keys like a Broadway star like Paige O’Hara could.

Hell, the rest of the cast sounds much better then poor Emma because half of them are used to a Broadway environment and can hit those high keys and you can really tell Emma just can’t.

I have to wonder why they didn’t just let a sound a like dub over her on those songs, it would have been a lot less jarring then the very obvious edits and auto tune through out her opening number.

If you listen to the soundtrack you can't actually hear any auto-tune at all. And if you compare her singing in the song Belle where it seems most prominent, compared to the young version of Prince Adam where the auto-tune is hellish there's a difference there as well. My friend studies sound and I have a background in film, we noticed that it actually sounds more like a mic / speaker problem when Emma sings compared to child Adam who had definitely been auto tuned. We've watched it several times in cinema to try to work it out. It seems like they've tried to bring up the pitch of Emma's voice but instead it's gone too far and is quite noticeable when you're hearing it for the first time. This change in pitch makes you hear a bit of an echo from the mic and speakers aren't friends with this kind of pitch, causing what seems like auto tune but when you really listen you can tell that it isn't exactly the same as auto tune. They should've just left her voice the way it is or asked for someone else to sing because her singing voice is perfectly fine, it's just softer in volume.

Just saw beauty and the beast (spoilers!)

- loved the storyline with the mother - the drag queen dude at the end (I’ve named him Fernando) was awesome - lefou dancing at the end with the drag queen dude was so cute uGH I LOVE OTP - Emma Watson - Emma Watson - did I mention Emma Watson? - IN GASTON THEY DIDNT HAVE THE “every inch of me is covered with hair” AND THAT UPSET ME -the beasts song 👌 - wish they said how his name is Adam - Everyone in the theater clapped when Gaston died and what a time to be alive - maurice is so amazing and under appreciated - cHIP ALMOST SHATTERED AT THE END WHY PLAY WITH MY HEART - loved the laundry machine feminist move - um when he growled at the end, and he made that face like uM ADAM I DONT KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT THIS

Okay but can we talk about how Dan Stevens is wearing a cooling vest, 40 lb muscle suit, is covered in gray lycra and marker dots and is physically LIFTING UP EMMA WATSON AND SPINS HER AROUND while he is on 10 inch metal stilts ALL WHILE KEEPING THE WALTZ CHOREOGRAPHY SPOT ON. AND. HE CAN SING. REALLY WELL. (via evermore) I can’t deal with how much of a god this guy is. Disney, you did good with casting Dan Stevens.

But really guys, I love Emma Watson’s Belle so freaking much. I love how brave she is, how fiercely she protects her father when she has no idea what is hiding in the shadows. She demands it to face her, and instead of waiting for whatever it is to come out and frighten her, she charges forward to find out. She’s probably terrified, but she won’t let her fear allow those few she loves to be harmed. If you think her character is bland and uncreative, think again.
