people have asked me to make a tutorial of how i recolor images before, so i'm gonna try to go through it somewhat well! i use pixlr e, canva, and a laptop/mouse to recolor (which makes me somewhat insane apparently since everyone else uses an ipad)
i think you will get my process a little bit better if i show you rather than describe it, so i made a video for this tutorial. if it isn't helping or you need a text verion, feel free to ask!
(i had to compress the videos due to tumblr's limits, so the video resolution may not be the best...)
a. pick an icon
for me i generally pick an icon with less colors, or at least ones that are noticeable/discernable enough so that i can keep track while i'm recoloring! otherwise i end up messing things up all the time lollll
this yeri icon has a lot of colors but i'm planning on cropping out the brown and white space to the left, and i'm planning on doing seven: her hair, skin tone, lips, sweater, blanket, and ceiling colors.
tip: don't forget about the skin color/hair! if you leave those both out the final moodboard won't look matched together because you've left out those important colors. :))
b. edit using pixlr e + coloring using pixlr e/canva (this is where the video comes in because i think it's easier to watch this happen rather than have me describe it to you)

i generally make a canva project first, sizing everything to 500x500 pixels. from there, i first cut out all the elements that i will change the color of from the image.
when coloring, i use the tab "hue and saturation" under adjustment, then click "colorize" to recolor all the layers in the image. it's honestly pretty simple and i think it will make a lot of sense! the harder part is adjusting it to match the original picture perfectly, but it really is not hard at all and i know you can do it :))
