Please note I might not finish things right away, depending on my mental health and how busy I am.

- You may send ONE (1) request in per week, across multiple weeks. (That'll be six moodboards total if you want to send one every week!)

Descendants Name Meanings (Part Four: Original Characters)

I did NOT include all the Westergaard cousins. They're not that important, and I didn't put a ton of thought into their names.

Royal Abalone Thalassan of Atlantica and Triton's Bay

Abalone: Sea snails with shells lined in mother of pearl. Thalassan: Means "sea" in Greek.

Notes:

- The youngest triplet of Adella and Stevie.

- I've decided that "Royal" is the term I'll use for non-binary royalty.

Abel Barker (Coachman)

Abel: From the Hebrew name הֶבֶל (Hevel) meaning "breath". Barker: Means "tanner", derived from the Middle English word bark meaning "tree bark". This was an occupational name for a leather tanner, who often used tree bark in the tanning process. Coachman: An occupational name for someone who drives a stagecoach.

Notes:

- The Coachman and Madame Medusa's son.

- His name is a reference to the biblical Abel, whose purpose in the text was to be killed.

- He didn't get a middle name.

- Since the Coachman's real name is basically unknown, Abel's last name gets replaced with his father's occupation/stage name so people know who he is.

Abrahán Fabián "Bean" Madrigal

Abrahán: From the Hebrew name אַבְרָהָם (ʾAvraham), which may be viewed either as meaning "father of many" or else as a contraction of Abram 1 and הָמוֹן (hamon) meaning "many, multitude". Fabián: Roman patrician family name that was derived from Latin faba meaning "bean". Afroditi: Aphrodite was the Greek goddess of love and beauty, identified with the Roman goddess Venus. The Greeks connected her name with ἀφρός (aphros) meaning "foam", resulting in the story that she was born from the foam of the sea. Thalassan: Means "sea" in Greek.

Mistress Aisha Stella de Rosas

Aisha: Means "living, alive" in Arabic, a derivative of the root عاش (ʿāsha) meaning "to live". Stella: Means "star" in Latin. de Rosas: Means "of Rosas."

Prince Ansgar "Gar" Petter Kai Bjorgman-Solheim of Arendelle and Snowdin

Ansgar: Derived from the Old German elements ansi "god" and ger "spear". Petter: Derived from Greek Πέτρος (Petros) meaning "stone". Kai: Meaning uncertain, possibly a Frisian diminutive of Gaius, a roman praenomen, or given name, of uncertain meaning. It is possibly derived from Latin gaudeo "to rejoice". Manal: Means "achievement, attainment" in Arabic, from the root نال (nāla) meaning "to get, to reach". Karim: Means "generous, noble" in Arabic, from the root كرم (karuma) meaning "to be generous". Kazem: Means "one who suppresses anger" in Arabic, derived from كظم (kaẓama) meaning "to suppress anger".

Notes:

- Mozenrath's youngest adoptive daughter.

- Karim is Mozenrath's surname at birth (same as Aladdin's), but he chose Kazem for himself after he reformed.

Arnold "Arnie" Percival McLeach

Arnold: From a Germanic name meaning "eagle power", derived from the elements arn "eagle" and walt "power, authority". Percival: Created by the 12th-century French poet Chrétien de Troyes for his poem Perceval, the Story of the Grail. Chrétien may have derived the name from Old French perce val "pierce the valley". Avalon: The name of this island is perhaps related to Welsh afal meaning "apple", a fruit that was often linked with paradise. - The only child of Quasimodo and Madellaine.

- His middle name is in honor of Esmeralda.

Belén "Bela" Azucena Madrigal

Belén: Spanish form of Bethlehem, the name of the town in Judah where King David and Jesus were born. The town's name is from Hebrew בֵּית־לֶחֶם (Beṯ-leḥem) meaning "house of bread". Azucena: Means "madonna lily" in Spanish. Madrigal: 1) Habitational name from any of various places in Spain named Madrigal, derived from Latin matricalis meaning "matrical, of the womb", ultimately from matrix "uterus, womb". 2) A form of Renaissance music that is still popular today.

Notes:

- The second of Isabela Madrigal's triplets. She has no partner, and used a sperm donor.

Lady Blanche Edith Graham of Bezaubernd and Charmington

Blanche: From a medieval French nickname meaning "white, fair-coloured". Edith: From the Old English name Eadgyð, derived from the elements ead "wealth, fortune" and guð "battle". Graham: From a Scottish surname, originally derived from the English place name Grantham, which probably meant "gravelly homestead" in Old English.

Notes:

- She is now the second child of the Huntsman and Maudie from Brave, now that she's an AK.

- After the Huntsman's bravery in disobeying the Evil Queen, he was granted a lordship by Snow White, hence Blanche's title of lady.

- She was named in honor of Snow White.

Prince Hou Bochang of Běi Wèi and Northern Wei

Hou: From Chinese 侯 (hóu) meaning "lord, nobleman". Bochang: From the Chinese 伯 (bó) meaning "older brother" and 昌 (chāng) meaning "light of sun; good, proper".

- Ling and Tingting's oldest child and only son.

High Prince Boniface Henri François-LeBeau of Auradon

Boniface: From the Latin name Bonifatius, which meant "good fate" from bonus "good" and fatum "fate, destiny". Henri: From the Germanic name Heimirich meaning "home ruler", composed of the elements heim "home" and rih "ruler". François: French form of the Late Latin name Franciscus meaning "Frenchman", ultimately from the Germanic tribe of the Franks, who were named for a type of spear that they used (Proto-Germanic *frankô). Carmen: Medieval Spanish form of Carmel, appearing in the devotional title of the Virgin Mary Nuestra Señora del Carmen meaning "Our Lady of Mount Carmel". Citlalli: Means "star" in Nahuatl. Pepikrankenitz: Not a real name :/.

- She's Kronk's daughter (and KJ's sister ig.) No idea who their mom is yet. Possibly a follower of Yzma's.

Cole Snoops

Cole: Old English byname meaning "charcoal". Commonly thought to turn into diamonds under strenuous pressure. Snoops: To pry into the private affairs of others, especially by prowling about.

Notes:

- The second child of Madame Medusa and Melvin Snoops, and Diamond's twin.

- Cole didn't get a middle name like Diamond does.

Prince Conrad Neal König-Weiss (White) of Bezaubernd and Charmington

Sunday Morning: What was the OC's relationship with faith growing up?

Religious faith: Historically speaking, Colombia is very Catholic. In a realistic setting, the Madrigals would also no doubt be very Catholic. However, since Encanto is an animated movie with a magical house and modern pop music, I'm suspending my disbelief around any stricter Catholic beliefs (specifically around gender and sexuality) that the Madrigals would realistically have. Preamble out of the way, Leta was raised in that fictional Catholicism. One that did emphasize hard work over leisure, and possibly instilled some gender role nonsense, if Isabela was anything to go off of. I don't see Leta as being overly religious. She was definitely the kid who dreaded Sundays and being crammed into a church for hours on end. I do think she'd fuck with the saints though. Something something being rewarded for suffering something something. Which could mean nothing. (also if it's not obvious I don't know anything about Catholicism XD.) Otherwise: Leta has faith in one other thing that's not strictly religion, and that's the Miracle. She has full and total blind faith in the Miracle. Of course, as we know from the movie, the Miracle is her family, and the life her family was given, but she doesn't see it that way. She likens the Miracle to a living spirit, something tangible that she can thank or curse (and borderline worship tbh.) She firmly believes that--after all that nasty business with Tia Mirabel not getting a gift and all--the Miracle won't ever fail again, and will keep protecting the family and the Encanto. Since the movie happened way before she was born, she doesn't quite understand why the Miracle failed like it did. She just knows it did, and it got better and stronger.

Casings: How does the OC deal with insecurity or jealousy in their platonic or romantic relationships?

Leta doesn't get jealous easy. You gotta actively try to set her off. But when she does, she ignores it. Lets it fester inside of her until she either becomes apathetic, or explodes. And when she does explode, she's stubborn about it. As for insecurities...she's got quite a few of those. She got a cool gift. Indestructibility. She's buddies with most of the rough and tumble Encanto kids because she can't get hurt. She's the tough guy. But her friends also seem to believe that her emotions are as tough as her skin. But they aren't. It's never quite bullying, just ribbing, but it still hurts. Like her jealousy, she just buries her insecurities deep inside, which can bubble out through frustrations with her friends and family.

Lilies: What does the OC think of marriage? Is marriage in the cards for them?

Leta doesn't think seriously about marriage until she's well into her twenties, and this is years after she meets and falls for her long-term boyfriend. I do think, logically, she and Dante would get married, though my heart says otherwise XD. Sort of back to the Catholicism thing, they'd see marriage as a thing they HAVE to do if they want to continue being together. They definitely see their wedding as more of a celebration of their love than anything else. It's never mattered to them that they're together "in the eyes of god," they just live under the assumption that marriage is the "end goal" for relationships. They also get married way later in life than most in that time period, as they were almost in their thirties.

Head In The Wall: What self-sabotaging habits does the OC deal with? Are they trying to do better?

Leta tries not to be emotional, and she tries not to care. She buries her true thoughts and feelings down deep inside herself, and tries to keep a level and chill attitude about everything. She believes that her feelings are nothing but burdens on other people, when in reality, not sharing emotions is the thing that destroys relationships. She has to have someone point this out to her. One of her family members for sure, possibly during an argument. And she does try to get better, though it's a bit of a learning curve.

Knuckle Velvet: Has the OC ever been in a toxic relationship? How would they deal with a toxic person?

She has actually had a few toxic friendships over the years. Mostly kids who never really wanted to be her friend, just a Madrigal's friend. Those kinds of friends would ignore anything she said that didn't revolve around her gift or her family, and clearly didn't care about her as a person. There was one friend in particular who was worse, and that friend just wanted someone they could beat up without consequence. It was fun for both of them at first, but things quickly spiraled out of control and got scary. She ended up telling her other friends about them, and they all got scared and told the adult Madrigals. (might make a full oc out of this person, hence the neutral pronouns until I figure out who they'll be.)

Golden Age: What does the OC regret most from their youth?

She definitely regrets how little she took things seriously as a child. She feels like she missed out on creating deeper relationships with her family and friends, especially her younger brother Andrés. She also feels like she's been "locked in" to the wild persona of her youth, and it's too late to change herself into someone "worthy" of having intelligent, emotional conversations with.
