An idea,

I really love that song and could be tweaked for Sakura's backstory, and maybe all arcs meshed altogether.

Very beginning could be prior Furin, with all the shit he heard in his early childhood

First drop and smashing is him beating the crap to all the tugs and bastards who goes for a fight with him, but unlike Teto, he goes bare fist and kick.

The mid drop where Teto fight her previous clones, what if Sakura faces the major characters from the major arcs, like the captain of Shishitoren and/or Endou, trying to scramble his brain against Furin, that he's too strong and valuable to waste his potential, etc

Sakura refuses and goes back to his beating spree, clearly roughed up and exhausted.

Things seems to finally come to a stop, letting him try to catch his breath,

Only for the very end of the song, "Suo"'s silhouette and eye shows behind him before the screen becomes suddenly black.

What do you guys think?

I also thought of "Signaling" by the same author for Sakura and "Suo", but that's an analysis for another time and maybe after when the arc is done. Still missing some information to truly know where does "Suo" stands....

Back to the black void it seems...

Man, that scene. That one scene.

That is the most perfect description I've ever seen of being too attached to someone and being unable to let go .

For having experienced it myself but unable to put words, it's vividly and painfully beautiful.

Having rewatched the episode where Nirei and "Suo" came to Sakura's house to attempt to tend him while he was sick, especially with Nirei reminding our Oreo boy once again he should count on them a little more,

Boy do I ressent "Suo" really badly.

Sakura finally opened up to them for heaven's sake!

Why didn't "Suo" at least took a little time to try to progressively fray the attachment Sakura had, still has, for him?!

They only taught the boy how to trust and open up! They haven't gotten to the phase where he learns about boundaries and not forcing your help on someone who doesn't want it!

Thank goodness for Momijikawa.

I'm not sure yet if it's because they're made of similar wood (🥁 joke on their namesakes), but the fact he seems to know who to approach the situation unlike the other two, I'm really glad he and Sakura are friends. (Although now, I'm on the fence with everyone for a little bit, thanks for the stunt a certain eye patched person pulled...)

The way he showed the pan is similar to how Kotoha got some food into him while he was sick (I wonder if she told Momijikawa about it).

On the next chapter, I hope Momijikawa will put brakes on Nirei and Sugishita regarding their concerns, for one, and the lecture, for the other, because Sakura is really not in the headspace for that right now.

Food and reassurance first. Then, eventually the talk.

Windbreaker manga spoilers chapter 218

(sorry for being lateI totally forgot)

Rereading chapter 216 for replaying the scene where Endo dropped the news, especially analysing Sakura's reaction to the news,

I don't think is just loss as Kotoha seems to think.

Sakura was pretty agitated and persuaded he should still try to get a word to "Suo", until Endo specified that "Eye patch" isn't just a member but one of the highest ranked one at that.

The way Sakura went livid to me isn't just loss, it's loss AND betrayal.

I think Sakura knew many "losses" before when he got tossed around like the "unwanted child" he was labelled as.

But at the difference from "Suo", there wasn't much attachment nor heart opening, like Kotoha mentioned.

I insist on my theory about betrayal because if Sakura was only acquaintance with "Suo" like classmates, yes, that could a loss of someone close, but in this specific case, "Suo" reached out to Sakura, he offered a hand and his assistance .

To someone like Sakura who had his heart opened both from inside but also from the outside by the guys from Furin, only to then drop him out without at least an explanation to give him a little closure, that's my argument about betrayal.

What kind of person helps a distrustful socially shut in only suddenly severe ties? Excluding death , explicit threatening, fall out or progressively growing apart that is.

I see a lot of people talk about Suo's hobby being "observing people", so basically people-watching, and how weird and suspicious that is, but to be fair, Nirei's hobby in his character sheet is "Gathering information" which like, that's not exactly the most normal hobby either.

What I meant to say is, those two are certified freaks and I need people to stop focusing only on Suo being one, and start talking about Nirei as well, please and thank you.

Actually, I don't see it being creepy on Suo's case as people watching is considered a common hobby (?) for people who seek a paced life, although it's more an elderly person thing to do, whenever they can find a bench and peacefully watch life going around them.

In Nirei's case, it's a more active prospection, and like some people pointed in the comments, he's the one who crosses boundaries more often by asking questions than Suo simply observing people. There's nothing wrong with watching people, unless absolutely staring or peeping during an intimate moment, but I highly doubt Suo would be like that.

Please! PLEASE!!! I hope this god-damned arc get solved soon or at least giving us better context because I hate how I'm perceiving "Suo" like a two timer husband and I have been wanting to smash his damn smile off his face the whole chapter!

I want that witty friend making scathing yet comedic remarks back in the group 😭

On a second note, I'm actually surprised Umemiya didn't sense a similar brotherly fiber in "Suo" like himself towards the orphanage. Or maybe, again, he did notice but he didn't mention it out loud because that wasn't his place to out someone's secret without their consent...

How the meetup would possibly go:

The Furin gang will be mad at "Suo" for being secretive, or for not having tried at least to give a minimum of explanation.

"You could have told us. We would understand."

On the comical note, imagine Endou calling Furin out for dumping their friends to deal with problems on their own:

- Sakura not telling the Senpais when going to deal with Anzai's tormentors

- Kiriyu wanting to deal with his sister's bullies by himself,

- Momijikawa trying to deal with thugs on his own,

- and now "Suo" literally beating the shit out of someone who actually cared enough to try to get some intel of what is going on

I love how encouraging all the comments and reblogs are but tbh there’s valid reasons why people don’t want to create in these situations and it can feel like those reasons are being dismissed when we try to share them and are repeatedly ignored by people who are trying to be overly positive instead of actually listening. For years I tried to follow the two cakes things and guess what? Nobody gave two shits about my work even if I was the first one to post the idea people just ignored me because I wasn’t good enough for them to care. Example: I can’t draw they can, people don’t pay that much attention (or any attention) to posts without that so one day I just stopped posting because no matter how hard I worked on my cake it would just get shoved off the potluck table for a more eye catching one. No matter how many cakes I make or how how hard I work on them even if I was the first or only person to bring that kind of cake it doesn’t matter. Being positive and encouraging is so awesome but please actually acknowledge why some of us don’t want to bake anymore before it becomes inconsiderate and dismissive.

OP here. Thanks for saying this anon. This is pretty much how I feel when it comes to the two cakes metaphor. There was a time in real life where I actually did bring a cake I'd made myself - and baking isn't a hobby of mine but I wanted to bring something different - to school for a class lunch, and of course there were several other desserts and cakes too. Now I'm not judging anyone's choices, I would've gone chosen the clearly better made cakes over mine too and no one was obligated to eat from everything that was brought, but let me tell you I still felt humiliated when at the end of the day we were taking home our leftovers and literally not a single piece had been taken out of the cake I'd brought. And that was just something I'd done because I kind of felt I had to, not wanting to eat from the rest of the class's food without bringing something myself. But I did go out of my way to do something I wouldn't normally and I'd felt proud of my meager achievement of making a cake myself, right up until I got the proof that it wasn't "good enough". So you can imagine how much worse it feels to put actual passion and care and time and effort into something I love doing only to get zero acknowledgement for it, especially to then see someone else with the same idea get all the praise for their creativity when the only thing separating them and me is skill level. Yes I want to do it for myself, but if a better version already exists that was shared with everyone then I could just enjoy that instead. "Do it shitty" yeah well no one wants shitty, including me. Maybe if I really was the only one to come up with the idea and it wouldn't exist otherwise, yeah I wouldn't mind doing my shitty version, but if a nicer one is already out there, why set myself up for disappointment?

Wind breaker manga spoilers chapter 216

The only overall feeling I'm getting about that arc is, as much as I can't stand Endou and him playing the insensitive bastard, a sort of genuine (?) attempt to ward Sakura off from that deep chasm hiding behind "Suo Hayato". As in it's not just a chasm, but full of a gas pocket ready to blow up if they keep carelessly drilling it and not taking the necessary precautions.

Even before the awaited confrontation, the rift between "Suo" and the other will be a gigantic one to mend, if it's even amendable...

While I do hope and expect to see the pain and regrets in "Suo"'s eyes as he will definitely play it off and piss the crap out of Furin for playing them like fiddle, I can already affirm I'm not ready to forgive him no matter his excuses.

Of course Kuro comes with Rin. Heck that would be the best playground for the cat-sìth. I'd like to think he'll buddy up very fast with Sonic and Leonard, the later probably riding his back more than once with Rin whenever the scooter isn't an option.

As heart wrenching as it is for me to think so, it would be logical for Libra to inform Rin that he's also on watch regarding his level of danger, him being the son of Satan, openly telling him that if he became a threat for people's safety, they would eradicate him. But Klaus would assure him they would beforehand try everything they can to bring him back to reason.

Leading me to totally see Klaus and a couple of other Libra agents training Rin alongside Leonardo. They also keep a close watch on him to make sure he wouldn't get kidnapped by the enemies, because, who wouldn't want Satan's son at their service?

Still, I think Klaus will try to make Rin not feel like a weapon just like how he took care of Leo when they abused the use of his eyes.

Because stories are plain without that one asshole on the mix, Zapp would definitely bully to the poor kid, and even try to fight him. But that was without counting on Klaus and Chain thwarting every attempt since he's a protégé of the Big Guy's acquaintance. In Chain's case, more to piss Zapp off than helping Rin, even if she does care a little about the newbies.

K.K. would smoother him like the mom he never had while Steven and Klaus would be the best Dads.

Rin would definitely part time at Vivian's dinner and save freebies for Leo and Zed while making Zapp pay thrice the price.

Mephisto would occasionally pop in once in a while to check on his little brother, not without wearing earmuffs to ignore Rin's colorful insults. He'd also may or may not keep Rin informed about his "classmates" and brother whereabouts, but the halfling won't want to hear anything from them. Maybe just a very impersonal postcard telling Yukio how much he was thriving now away from his gun, out of spite.

That would make me laugh for Rin, Leo, Klaus and the team to go on vacation in Japan, offered by Mephisto, and being taken aback by the normalcy, now out of Hellsalem's Lot. Well, almost normalcy, since there's still demons roaming around.

Much to Rin's chagrin, when they were outside, he'll have to hide his assets, just like Leonardo will constantly wear his goggles, Klaus wearing a mask and Zed some kind of disguise to hide his fish like traits.

Being a big brother himself, Leonardo will be on the fence regarding the rift betwin the twins, but that won't last long before taking Rin's side whenever the halfling gets on the short end of the stick, much to his and the Libra's team annoyance.

Which lead his old "classmates" and Yukio to see how carefree Rin seems to be when interacting with Libra, like as if being the son of Satan was something totally insignificant like an extra finger.

A very hilarious scene to imagine would be that since they're so used to massive destruction, Libra and Rin getting way overboard during an exorcism of a very big demons or a demon infestation. The True Cross team would be horrified and can't just blame the halfling this time, while Mephisto would be nagging a very sheepish Klaus about the damages done to the place.

"Oh riiiigt! I forgot I wasn't supposed to burn everything on sight here! My bad!" Rin would laugh it off, shocking and riling up his ex teammates.

The local exorcists barely had the time to point their weapons at him and Yukio about to chid him for his recklessness, the Libra team would be in a defensive stance around Rin, pointing their weapons back.

"This boy is a member of Libra. Any attempt on his life won't be without consequences." Klaus warning them, making Rin feel touched.

As the ex teammates are left flabbergasted and some very resentful, Leonardo might approach the group and advise them to be a little more observant before pulling conclusion.

"And what would you know about it?!" Bon would snap at him, only for the young man to open his eyelids a bit. "Let's just say I can see a lot of things. My last name is Watch, after all."

My brain went to the imagination lane, picturing Rin chilling with Leonardo, Mephisto playing chess with Klaus every once in a while, Shura and Chain sharing a bottle of booze while dissing out the men in their entourage, etc etc,

Y'know, that could actually be a good plot:

What if fed up by how people have been treating Rin after his secret had been outed and the impending doom of the boy's execution is getting closer and more and more supported by everyone, Mephisto gets in touch with an old friend, Klaus, and asks him if he could welcome Rin in Libra?

When being told he's being sent to America, effective immediately, Rin decided not to waste time to argue and seize the opportunity to escape the Vatican, even if it means to be shipped straight to another hell hole, Hellsalem's Lot (🥁).

And sure that would be a different kind of hell, but at least he wouldn't be the only freakish oddity standing amongst human anymore.

As soon as he got there, he barely got welcomed by Leo and heading to the Libra headquarters, and by the same occasion getting to know each other a little, that hell (🥁) totally break loose as Femt sent another of his experiments to wreck havoc in town.

Libra jumped in the fray as Leo was tasked to get Rin to safety. (I forgot to specify the whole time, Rin was hiding his assets by old habits and not knowing if he could trust anyone again). While riding with the older male, the poor halfling swore to kill Mephisto if he ever made it alive.

A sudden swerve from Leonardo shook him out of his thoughts. Before Rin could curse at the other's driving skills, he noticed that Leo was being oddly accurate in dodging the monsters bursting out of the ground. Sadly their luck ran out when a massive block of concrete landed right in front of them and caused them to crash on the road.

As he knew his scrapes and injuries would heal very fast, Rin rushed to Leo's aid, and noticed blood coming from his eyes. Which were one of the weirdest set of ocular globes he ever seen. But now wasn't the time for questions as the monsters grew closer.

Leo did try to tell Rin to get out of here, but of course the halfling couldn't help but play the hero.

Resentful to his rotten luck, he unsheathed his sword and went all out on the monsters.

Once the enemies were dealt with, Rin put his sword back in its sheath but he didn't dare to look at Leonard, not wanting to see shocked and disgusted look again.

"Rin!"

Leonardo limped towards him.

"I-I'm really sorry, Leo, I didn't mean to hide it," the halfling stammered, looking away from his chaperone. "I swear I planned on telling you guys everything and -"

"Rin."

The older male was smiling at him.

"Thanks for saving me, I really thought I was a goner."

"Eh?" The teen blinked, not expecting that reaction.

Only to hear a loud whistle behind him.

"When you said we'll get a new recruit recommended by an acquaintance, I didn't expect to see a newbie singlehandedly cleansing a whole troop! Like, damn Boss! Who the hell is that kid!?"

Rin turned around and instead of seeing scorn, he was met with impressed looks and even a couple of proud smirks.

"You're not the first nor last non human person with abilities I've seen in my life, if that's what you're worried about." Leonardo patted his shoulder.

"Sorry for the rough welcoming party, Young Okumura, I swear I wished it happened differently." Klaus bowed politely. "Nonetheless, welcome to Hellsalem's Lot."

Rin stared again at the group of people standing in front of him, still not seeing any trace of scorn (Zapp doesn't count).

A feral grin took place on the boy's lips.

"I'm so going to kill Mephisto."
