.. uncertainty

When life gives you lemons, you make..? Lemonade. Or so I´ve heard. I feel that life is giving me lemons at the moment. There´s a downward spiral in the oil and gas industry- and guess where I´m working? Yes. 10 point to you. Also, just my luck, I´m still a temporary employee or a agency temp as we call ourselves, meaning that my rights are kind of limited when my job announces that they will need to let 120 people go. So desperate times calls for desperate measures and I am back on the job market looking for my dream job. Second time around. So far Finn.no is not presenting me with amazing alternatives, but hopefully that one job I´m looking for will turn up and I will get it over those thousand other people that also will apply. Staying optimistic!  .. and also there is this small hope of faith that maybe they will spare me and my job- because I´m just that awesome (and i love it!)

The Coffee Phase

I have officially entered into the coffee phase of my life cycle. Another name for it: young professionals striving for success- and those need their coffee. Being new in a job and new in an office creates this instant need for coffee within the first month of starting your new job. Let me explain what I mean. I was never a coffee person, by coffee I used to think coffee mocha- hold the coffee and add more mocha please. Then suddenly I'm in this new environment where people need their coffee every morning, actually their workday cannot start until they have has their coffee. And a day without coffee would mean serious temper and efficiency problems. So what does a newbie in the work life do? My first thought is: I will manage just as well as those others- even without coffee. What happened was this. Work life is though. You get up early in the morning, you work late. You get tired and need instant energy. You also need conversation starters when taking to co-workers. You need an excuse for a 5 minute break. You need motivation, without having to indulge in sodas with tons of sugar. So what did this newbie do? Started drinking coffee. At first coffee mochas from the coffee machine, then coffee with a lot of milk, and now, black coffee. And I need it. So here I am, a coffee drinking young professional, trying to achieve success and fitting in. And hopefully it is working ;)
