Our record label is trying to get a law student or lawyer to review/edit our contract, but we're so low on funds they're practically nonexistent. Do you have any suggestions?
My suggestion is to get a lawyer. Better to do it properly the first time than to make a mistake which could be a lot more costly. In Australia at least (where I’m from), law students are not allowed to give you legal advice.
would you rather moot court studies or german or introduction to common law for elective courses
I’m in a common law system so I will take “intro to common law” to be “into to civil law system.” Personally, I would go with moot court studies if there are no opportunities to do that in a co-curricular or extra-curricular way, otherwise introduction to common law.
Hey I'm a first year double degree law/government & international relations student in Australia and I'm just slightly confused by the use of (#)L. And would you know if anything of my degree would be of use if I wanted to practice law in the States or the UK?
Hey!
So the use of (#)L is used in the US to denote for year of law school you’re in. Because they’re only able to do law as a postgraduate degree they only have 3 years of law school, so a 1L is a first year student, 2L is a second year student and 3L is a final year student.Your degree would be super useful if you wanted to practice in the UK, many people do because the jurisdictions are so similar, it would be somewhat similar to wanting to practice in another state. With the US, I’m not so sure though it would be somewhat transferrable.
xx
Hey, I'm studying for the lsat and I found out that my major, criminal justice, lowers my chances of getting into law school. Is that true? It's too late to change my major and I enjoyed cj.
Hey! Sorry, I have no idea! I’m in Australia and we have a different system for our study of law.
Best of luck love x
I'm "studying" for my exams on May and I'm just laughing and crying both at the same time while looking through cases and statue books tell me i'm not going crazy
HAHAHAHA laughing and crying both at the same time encapsulates how I feel about law school completely!
