some very green photos I took
Just when I think I couldn't fall in lust love with another female fictional character with major dom/top energy, I meet fucking Joe McNamara from the TV show Lioness on Paramount+
There's just something about a woman in a suit that has anger issues and is a cold-blooded killer at work, but is passionate and loving at home that just makes me fold EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. 🧎🏿♀️
She does smile a few times in the series...
The fact that these are practically the only gifs of her on here is criminal!

Joe sat on the edge of her bed rigid with a deep feeling of dread coursing through her. She tried to sleep but every time she closed her eyes horrors of what could happen flashed in her dreams. Throughout all her years in service she had never been so full of fear and that was because of you.
You were infiltrating into a highly dangerous target area. It was worse than Cruz and Carrillo's previous missions combined. She would never admit it out loud but she cared about you way more than a case officer should care about her operatives...
Joe perks up at the light sound of footsteps approaching her. She knew that it was you. You were quite nocturnal and visited her bedroom in the night more often than not. Her shoulders relaxed as she felt your warmth against her back, your chin resting on her shoulder.
"What's wrong?" You ask softly, feeling the stiffness of her posture. Joe sighed silently, her fingers running over her lips in a nervous fidget. You'd never seen her like this. It worried you. You nudged your nose against her cheekbone urging her to speak.
Finally she said, "I'm scared."
The confession prompting tears down Joe's cheek, her refusal to break now dissolved. You cup her face turning her gaze towards you. She reluctantly looks at you her eyes glossing over threatening to spill more tears.
"What is there to be scared about Joe? You've done plenty of missions." You wipe a stray tear.
"Not like this." She moves her gaze from yours running her hand through her hair.
"Everything is gonna be okay. They wouldn't put you in charge if you couldn't do this." You reply trying to reassure.
"It doesn't matter. You don't understand how easily this can go wrong."
"Then explain it to me."
A silence falls over the room. Joe swallows before she speaks again.
"I can't lose you."
Your countenance softens. She seldom was vulnerable around you. Sometimes you questioned if she even cared, but now you knew she did.
"You won't."
She looks at you sadly like you were already gone and it was just a matter of time.
"Can you stay?" She nearly whispers.
You couldn't help but break into a smile. Usually she would act like you were pestering her and tell you to get out (even though she really didn't want you to) but now she admittedly wanted you to stay.
"I've been waiting for this all my life." You say jokingly.
"Shut up." Joe smiles but it doesn't quite reach her eyes before she looks sullen again.
You pull back her sheets and get comfortable beneath them taking in the scent she left on them. You tug on her shirt a silent cue you want her to lay down. She shifts from her spot on the edge of the bed and lays on her back beside you staring up at the ceiling. She was still lost in the nightmare of what could happen. You move closer to her burying your face in her neck. You pull her back to reality by nibbling on her earlobe. She looks at you but doesn't say a word.
"You're acting like you already lost me. I'm right here." You press your forehead to hers the fear starting to seep into you now. She nuzzles you back.
"I know."
You slightly pull away sitting up a little so you could look her in the eye. Your hand tracing the curve of her face. The reality of the situation started to really set in for you. You could die. You probably would. Joe’s eyes searched your face now finding the fear that was missing before. Now she was really scared.
You figured this might be your last time to say anything important to her so you mustered up all your confidence.
“I love you.”
You watched as Joes eyes glossed over never breaking contact with yours. She didn’t say anything she just pulled you closer pressing her lips to yours. She didn’t need to say anything back, you felt it in the way she kissed you. Softly but urgently. Her hand cupping your face firmly and her other arm holding you close like you could slip away at any second. You pulled away first. You could rest easy knowing that she loved you too.
With that, you held each other for the rest of the night and slept peacefully knowing that this could be your last moments together.
