So Shu Yi is totally going to start dating Shi De again to break his heart just to re fall in love with Shi De again, like that's what's going to happen, right. Could be wrong, but it seems plausible
People are trying to figure out why the hours add up to about 8 years, there's theories flying. What if Shi De has amnesia, what if it's been more than five years, what if...?
Who wants to bet it's literally just a math error that no one got checked on
So Seo Joon looks like such a small bean with Ji Woo, imagine my shock when I realize the dude is 6ft. How freaking tall is Ji Woo's actor????
- But are these the only clothes you own?
To My Star (나에 별에게) Ep. 5
#smitten
Things I loved about To My Star in no particular order:
1. That birthday dance party of literally three people. It's something a small group of friends would actually do, it's hilarious, and it's adorable.
2. While this was a short drama, the relationship didn't really feel rushed. We got to see the characters talking, hanging out, and having pretty healthy communication to be honest. With the exception of wyel, none of the Korean bls had a very natural progression to me.
3. Seo Jun
4. No but actually, I love Seo Jun. He seems selfish and carefree at first, but we pretty quickly learn that he cares a lot, is open about his feelings but also apologetic when he's in the wrong, and he's still kind to the people who have wronged him but also not a pushover. Also he's just such an adorable weirdo. And who could possibly not fall in love with that smile, not Ji Woo sir.
5. Pil Hyun being a stressed little man who has accidentally found himself in another bl drama.
6. The fact that Seo Jun communicates. He is open, he doesn't let things go unsaid, and isn't an idiot when Ji Woo does things he thinks are protecting Ji Woo. He literally tells Ji Woo that nothing he's saying makes sense when he's trying to do the "I hate you to protect you speech".
7. Both my boys are little weirdos. Seo Jun comes in with his zit thing and you're like, okay that's a thing, and then Ju Woo comes in and clips that boys nails.
8. Okay yeah, the kisses in the last couple episodes were good. They moved their mouths man, it was a pretty low bar, but they leaped over it.
9. That sequence where they're talking about how Ji Woo only owns one outfit while eating toast and then still talking about it while playing basketball. I loved it
10. Seo Jun's style. That's it, I like it. He reminds me of the bisexual sweater tiktok guy, but better dressed.
This scene was so freaking cute 😭
I loved We Best Love so much... Give me the trailer for season 2 so I can theorize!!!
Literally my favorite thing is a fan asking why Shu Yi changed his feelings so fast and Yu saying the real reason was they only had half an hour 😂
Okay, I'm going to be honest, this is probably one of those, "I don't like guys, I just like you" situations, but like, what if it isn't???
Shu Yi says, "I don't want to fall in love with a guy"
Not, "I'm straight"
Not, "I don't like guys"
He says he doesn't want to, not that he can't. I just see it as a situation where Shu Yi doesn't want to like a guy, but once he realizes that he does, well it's too late now, he doesn't have a choice in the matter.
When I was discovering my sexuality, I said I didn't want to like girls. Not that I couldn't, not that I didn't, but that I didn't want to. The language stands out to me and maybe I'm reading into it too much, but I hope (and I know it probably won't happen) that this choice of language means something. That there's a reason he doesn't want to beyond the cliche, that this is someone repressing their sexuality and not a "I'm straight, it's just you" moment.
Ugh, give me that bi rep We Best Love!
My dumbass:
Gif cred: @loveisactivated
Shu Yi's dumb ass the entire series up until this confession:
“that doesn’t count…”
Your girl’s been really busy at work lately, but you know she came through and watched all the episodes of We Best Love in one sitting tonight. This show is chefs kiss, Shi De’s smile is to die for, and Shu Yi is so dumb yet so adorable, I love him
“My favorite grocery store commercial has come to an end after 9 months” is a sentence I never expected to say 10 months ago.
HOW DARE Y'ALL GET ME ALL EXCITED FOR THIS CUTE ASS EXTENDED ROOMMATES TO LOVERS GROCERY AD ONLY FOR ME TO BE CRYING IN THE END!!!!!
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
okay listen i get that teh relinquishing his spot in university was a super emotional, irrational, and stupid decision. i get it. but why have i not seen anyone mention that it’s what oh asked him to do?
i mean, even as kids: what “if miss nuan had chosen you, and i said i wanted to play, would you have let me?”
yikes––
i’m not saying it’s oh’s fault, it was definitely teh’s choice - i’m just saying, for a dude who’s very smart and has a tendency to way overthink things, there’s no doubt in my mind that those words stuck with teh (and those lines were a really deliberate writing choice to convey that and even foreshadow that ep. 4 scene). and i do not think oh meant for teh to take it this way - i actually don’t think he meant it at all, it was just him being upset and lashing out - but in episode one when he found out he didn’t get in by direct entry, oh said “you’re so good at studying. why didn’t you go through the admission system?”
now, pair that with the show’s theme of “if you love someone, you can’t stand to see them sad.” itsay framed sadness as the most honest language of love and i could write a whole essay on that but not right now and on top of that, oh-aew’s sadness in episode 4 was directly caused by teh.
again, a rational person isn’t going to take this to heart, and i don’t think teh really did until he was emotionally torn apart and we all know he wasn’t being rational right then.
i’m just saying, it’s not just one single thing that led to teh doing that. there was the false hope when someone showed up late, there was the guilt from hurting oh, and more guilt on top of that because teh thought he’d led oh to give up on his dream. and then, on top of all of that, all the guilt and the hope and the lack thereof brought oh’s words back to the forefront of teh’s mind.
on one hand oh-aew didn’t mean to ask teh to do that for him - but on the other, even if he didn’t intend to, he actually kind of did.
Thank you. My friend and I both pointed this out right after the episode and I was so annoyed no one else was talking about it
