Character art for a friend of Wisp & Whisper (awakened owl Witch with her familiar) for a Pathfinder game of Season of Ghosts!
Wisp plays as a small talking owl with a distrust of others, shunned by society in the superstitious land of Tian Xia. She is joined by her strange familiar, a similar but sickly owl by the name of Whisper. Whisper may not be fully "alive" and has a tendency to mutter cryptic omens.
My friend is also a audiobook narrator and great voice actor! She brings a lot to each session we've played over the years. For those interested in her work or looking for a narrator, please feel free check our her website below!:
Played a game last sunday with the new group. They seem nice! I enjoyed our character interactions, but their PCs wanted to info dump their entire backstory to my PC who's like: "i just met y'all i do not give af" one PC has a voice box and she wanted me to fix it. Ik im trained in crafting but i do not know you why would i do a favor for a stranger??
I'm playing a witch/rouge who was born into a bank cult that worships patrons like the sphinx. The cult acts as an oppressive organization in the City of Guilds.
My PC, Phenegemon (not their true name, but the name of their patron. the party doesn't know that) is an abrasive and confrontational jerk who will blatantly lie to NPCs despite not being trained in deception. But they're an int build, they know all your crimes and will use it in their favor.
The party fed Phenegemon (big mistake) so Phenegemon invited themselves to live at the party's villa despite being incredibly unlikeable. I like playing the mean one :]
Here's the build: Phenegemon
Design is still a WIP, i like the character just still working on the staff/accessories
Our very own Jason Keeley has granted us all with the greatest gift; a JIMOTHY companion! This was just for a bit of fun, but now you can take Jimothy with you on your adventures in Pathfinder AND Starfinder! Scoop that little guy up!
Get the fun rules!
One thing that makes me kinda sad is seeing people who feel like TTRPGs just aren't for them because they bounced off of some element that is clearly just a symptom of them trying out D&D5e. Like people who have had a hard time with learning the rules would probably do well with any system where the rule formatting and play culture around learning them aren't a mess. One friend of mine didn't like waiting a long time for turns to come up in combat, not even knowing that many games don't even use a turn-based structure.
A lot of D&D5e defenders on here like to claim that asking someone to learn a new system is "gatekeeping" somehow, but I'd argue that acting like one game is emblematic of the entire medium to the exclusion of people who don't click with that one game is way more meaningfully a form of gatekeeping, even if it's fully unintentional.
I strongly believe that not all RPGs are gonna appeal to everyone, but there is an RPG out there for everyone, and I just hope that people who haven't clicked with the most common option to be introduced to can find something that works for them.
Joined a new group on sundays :] i might try my wolves or make a new character, idk. The setting is pretty generic, so i dont have a lot of ideas for new characters - but I've played with the GM before an know I could probably add my own sprinkles into the campaign if I worked my brain hard enough
I've started calling prep: "planning playtime"
I just realized starbuilder exsists
I haven't built anythjng in a while and wanted to make a character w/o free archetype. It's actually harder to make simple builds in my opinion. I like all my options.
Here's a princess who was locked in a tower for most of their life and then one day decided to take the tower with them to have an adventure:
Sleeping Beauty
making a model for comics-- this way I don't have to remember what the castle looks like and can take pictures in order to come up with interesting shots. It is just faster to do this than it is to learn blender. Cardboard tubes, hot glue, index cards, foam clay, assorted scraps.
I don't have anything important to say i just want people to know that i really love ttrpgs
Some chimera coz im grumpy i didnt get to play today
I really like playing Lysithea but when the group cancels last minute quite often I'm very seriously considering leaving.
YUNIRA, Tina Yu
Another quick build idea. Animist/inventor combo. I never make anything with inventor so i thought "how can i be the most supportive inventor" tho now im considering how great the build might be if i take inventor 1st 🤔
Aspiring scientist intent to help by any means necessary. "Ghost Heart"
I never build without free archetype. I think im drawn to the complications
