Which of the cast do you think would know ASL?
like. know American Sign Language? 'cuz if so:
i can very much see paintbrush being a very accommodating type of person, might know something like morse or esperanto aswell. they would also probably go out of their way to learn a different language if they had a foreign friend to connect with them better (and then completely butcher it and say something like "i want to eat your dog"💔)
knife would learn it purely to bully deaf people. very much a "i hate all races equally" type of guy in my opinion
nickel would want to for the same reason knife, but alas.. "it's called having arms" (also not too sure you can portray sarcasm through your hands very well)
baseball would want to for genuine reason but, alas... "aaarms!"
marshmallow would, but i don't really have much of a reason why except well being blown up probably isn't the best for your hearing (also she can shatter glass with her voice so being at grounds zero of that might not be the best on your ears either)
pepper would be very much the same as paintbrush in my opinion. nnot really much else i have to add. maybe she'd get some kind of job as a translator?
balloon is a very learnt type of person to me based on his love of poetry. i can see him learning different languages purely just to see what the literature is like in other countries. (also probably knows latin or greek) and also just,, enjoying the study of language. so i'd give it a solid maybe,,
i think it'd be funny if lightbulb didn't know it at all but signed perfectly one time, much to everyones shock, and then just went on not knowing like nothing happened
yin knows perfect sign language and probably a second language aswell. but,, yang also had to sit through that and since he has half control of the body constantly messes with what yin is saying
mic definitely has hearing loss. maybe even actually gone deaf after a while,, i mean. imagine the marshmallow stuff but even worse. suffice to say, kinda necessary. also, for this reason i can imagine taco would learn it specifically to accomodate her
test tube, possibly. for the same reason as balloon
soap, maybe. for the same reason as paintbrush and pepper.
suitcase would REALLY want to but uh.. alas.. "arms!"
fan would really, really want to. even if he spends most of his time in life on the 'net. but.. ADHD. (maybe if he ever gets medicated)
i can see mepad being programmed to know a lot of languages, and can probably show images of hands on his screen. so, yeah!
candle probably just wouldn't even bother and speak to people directly through telepathy. if we're being more serious i can see her learning it though
