This is still to me one of the funniest chapters in the entire manga. Loid sees Yor looking a little bit sad and is immediately like

You know that Tumblr post that mentioned how Xena looks so strong and larger-than-life because she was filmed like how male superheroes are filmed?

That’s how Yor is drawn in the manga. 

Yeah, she has a dress that reveals her chest, and yeah, her legs would flash whenever she does her power kicks. But it was never the focus of any of the panels. 

The action lines and the angles emphasize movement, power, and her ability as an assassin. 

She’s drawn like a shonen hero in action who just happens to have breasts. 

Like look here, I never even noticed her butt cheek until now because it’s drawn to focus on how she can Chun-li a guy 30 feet above her head. And when I did notice her cheek? It’s just a part of her anatomy. 

And when she got a chest wound, it was a slash. There was no boob spillage or let’s-test-boob-physics fan service because this right here? Her looking menacing as the ill-winds-that-bloweth-no-man-good unfurls around her like the death goddess that she is? Is the fan service.

Endo could have sexualized Yor for fan service; it’s such the norm in the manga industry -heck, even the comic industry- to do on female characters that anyone who cares would just be slightly disappointed. 

But Endo didn’t. Because they prioritize Yor’s prowess and deadly competence as an assassin.
