Next page is a “what if” scenario where Tien and Chiaotzu meet Yamcha when they’re kids. Tien walks up and notices a tall kid standing by a crying Chiaotzu. Tien immediately becomes angry and kicks the tall kid in the back. The tall kid is Yamcha, who yells in pain. Yamcha and Tien argue. Yamcha angrily asks why Tien kicked him and Tien tells that Yamcha was bullying Chiaotzu. Chiaotzu tries to stop Tien by hugging him and explains that Yamcha actually helped him. Yamcha scared the other kids away. Tien is shocked, but quickly bows to Yamcha. He thanks and apologizes to him. Yamcha rubs his sore back and is slightly annoyed, but tells Tien not to worry about it. Tien then asks why a high schooler is in this area which surprises Yamcha. Yamcha then laughs and tells Tien that he’s actually ten years old. Tien is shocked. End description.]

Thoughts:

Tien and Chiaotzu are siblings 🥺 Idk if there are other kids that were raised with them besides Yurin (she’s waaaay younger than them tho). I kinda HC that it was just Tien and Chiaotzu who lived with the Crane master. Tien and Chiaotzu really like having fun, so I imagine that they played together whenever they could. Also, Tien would always protect Chiaotzu whenever the Crane master targets him. That’s why he’s so worried and protective of Chiaotzu whenever he gets hurt (mostly he just really loves his brother). Vice versa for Chiaotzu as well 🥹

Also, I was thinking about a “what if” idea where they got to go to a public school and then they meet Yamcha. Doesn’t really make sense canonically, but it’s a cute idea- I just wanna see them be friends okay?? 😭 Them briefly being friends as kids is the only thing that really changes tho since Yamcha would still lose his parents and end up in the desert. They still fight in the 22nd tournament- I guess they’d remember each other? I think they’d still hate each other at the 22nd cuz Tien was still raised by the Crane master 🥲

The next morning, Puar wakes up confused on why Yamcha’s so close to him. Yamcha is drooling and peacefully sleeping. The second page is a different scenario years later after the Cell arc. Puar is woken up by Yamcha. He looks over to Yamcha, who’s having a nightmare. He’s gripping at his chest, implying that he’s dreaming about when he got punched through his chest. Puar is worried and lays on Yamcha to hug him. He closes his eyes and starts purring which makes Yamcha relax. Later, Yamcha is hugging Puar while they’re both peacefully asleep. End description.]

Thoughts:

They both comfort the other when they have nightmares 🥺 I wish we had more scenes between them- it’s mostly Puar supporting Yamcha tho from what I remember. I want to see more scenes of Yamcha taking care of Puar, too!

Also, I HC that Puar has some cat behaviors like purring, loafing, and grooming with his tongue. He also loves to snuggle, which always cheers up Yamcha 🥹

I got this idea cuz I noticed that they only have one bed in Yamcha’s hideout and his apartment in Super. Plus they were lying in bed together- look how cute they are!! 😭💕💕
