Easterman: The sleeper agent program we created to wage the war on communism is going well. The therapy is working.
Wernicke: Sure, but I think we should try adding something new. I have had this wonderful idea involving a sentient nanotechnology, that of which would be controlled and piloted by a biological host. A great machine could restrain said host, guiding the user into a plight of complete madness. Then, and only then, shall these nanorobotic swarms be activated through pure, unadulterated dream states.
Easterman: what
Easterman would lose his shit if someone told him the Sinyala facility in 50 years would be destroyed via fiery explosion by a massive hoard of ants controlled by nanobots

Runnin' scared, what would I do

That man can look me in the eye
And tell the biggest, sweetest lie
And I forget that lipstick on his tie
WIP lineart of Emily. I don’t think she gets enough love from the community.
Ted spending the evening in his quarters, listening to some tunes. This particular song from his favorite vocal group feels… a little too close to home. Original/non-gif under the cut.

Can we get some lore on your boy? I hardly see many Murkoff employee OCs.
Oh for sure! I’d love to share more about my boy. Nothing too deep yet, still fleshing him out- but I do have a little bit so far. Thanks for the interest! More below.
Theodore “Ted” Marcoux Landry. 33, male.
Senior employee of the Sinyala Sanitation Team.
Born in Salem, Oregon, to a family of four in a relatively quaint home. He had an average childhood, apart from dealing with undiagnosed depression and his parent’s strained relationship.
Things went smoothly up until his late teens and early twenties. Despite being a smart kid, he had immense trouble with his grades; managing to graduate, albeit barely. He found himself repeatedly running into financial issues left and right. Could never seem to land a job, or keep it. Fast forward to his late twenties and early thirties, he is unmarried, no children. Ted is irritable, suffering mental illness and chronic health issues. Ted then fell into severe financial strain and left his home town hoping for a fresh start and better circumstances.
After a brief stay in Santa Monica, California, he catches an unusual but promising opportunity coming from a flier posted outside his motel room’s door. Something about a private company hiring young, needy workers for clean-up and bio-waste control. Despite the initial unappealing nature of the offer; it was a job nonetheless; and an opportunity that promised good money. It stated to offer in-place housing while employed. The best part? No experience or extra funds needed.
So what did Ted do? He did what any desperate man would do. Unsurprisingly, the offer was too good to be true. He was more than certain he was being used against his will by some hellish, government cult-project. He didn’t even want to quit on account of fearing what the blackmail would be like. However, he had access to food, showers, and a roof over his head.
All of this, and he was not allowed to leave. The longer he stayed, the less he seemed to care about himself, his problems, about everything. He began to believe he would never have the chance to get out. That it was futile. As long as he was doing his job, being a good worker, nothing else mattered. And that’s exactly what they wanted.
