people on tumblr realize that real life issues cant be solved like they are in action cartoons challenge

i feel like so much of this performative "lets raid a government protected concentration camp! this'll go great 🤪" rhetoric is really connected to the performative lense through which a lot of whites on tumblr view issues that affect racial and ethnic minorities. to them, being an outsider to this means you can somehow be a knight in shining armor that bursts into the scene and saves the poor and oppressed poc. when they make stupid plans that'll get people killed, they never account for the safety of the people they'll "save", they're moreso concerned with appearing brave and having the right to say that they fought for the rights of the oppressed class when it mattered most. they are playing a part and using oppression and violence to romanticize and glorify themselves. when activists of color attempt to take a stand against the mistreatment they face, they are brutally murdered by the cia or shut down as terrorists and as too loud. the worst fucking thing to me about whites is how they'll flip the script on suffering to suit them. it is a privilege to be able to get away with this shit, so don't drag people who won't be able to fly under the radar of the government into your insane plans. don't expect to be thanked when you do more harm than good.
