I just realised.

When he falls in love, Crowley blinks. Both in the book and in the mini, Crowley almost never blinks.

When he falls in love (or realises that he’s in love), Aziraphale keeps his eyes open, completely still. Part of Michael Sheen’s characterisation of Aziraphale has him batting his eyelids, constantly doing micro-movements with his face.

This line kills me more than "it's over" for the purpose that in my mind, Aziraphale isn't saying it to Crowley, I think subconsciously he's saying it to God. Crowley's right demons won't ever be forgiven. But Aziraphale is basically begging God to forgive the one person in this world he loves more than anything, more than the world.

Aziraphale (at this point) assumes the apocalypse is going to happen, he hasn't tried calling God yet. And I'm also going to assume based on his comments in epi 1, he still thinks heaven will win. That means he'll never see Crowley again. But if God forgives Crowley, he could.

"You were an angel once."

It's said to Crowley but again I think Aziraphale is trying his best to remind God what Crowley once was. Up til this point, Aziraphale has always commented on Crowley not being an angel.

"You're a demon that's what you do!"

"But you are fallen."

So why now bring up Crowley was an angel? I think this is when Aziraphale decided to "call" God. He wants it all sorted out but more he wants Crowley forgiven. He forgives Crowley but to save his demon, he needs God to.

That's just my take on it.
