HEADCANON TIME ! 

in rare moments of weakness, be this PHYSICAL INJURY or feeling WEAK OF HEART ( ahem, any emotions at all too profoundly honestly ), Sutoku will fold his wings around himself like a shield.  Just kind of hide behind them until the hurt or......emotions....have passed by and left him.  He hates the vulnerable feeling of others actually seeing him experiencing whatever he is experiencing.  

If he ever pulls you in and wraps his wings around you, please know that you are extremely trusted because that is a sacred and private action.

HEADCANON TIME! 

So while Sutoku is charismatic and charming, as many demons often are, his malevolent side is very well known and difficult to hide from people.  If you ask him about it he will not deny being cruel.  Sutoku has NO FAITH in HUMANS.  He believes all humans to be cruel && merciless, far worse than any oni could ever be.  

He tends to only show his wrath to those who deserve it and despises humans who use other humans.  ( Which is, in his mind, any human. )  

So, he does not try to hide this side of his nature from his master, though may jokingly ask in a teasing voice: “ Are you frightened of me now, Master? “
