✧・゚: * — he nodded as she spoke, agreeing wholeheartedly to her musing. he had spoken of the same issue to bona, who was the young rapper he had been mentoring since she was younger. the two had met underground, the little girl back then so hopeful and eager to learn and perform. ❛ unfortunately, i agree. but that’s what you’re there for. and god, you don’t know how thankful i am that bona’s the one handling the rap training. i would KILL someone if it wasn’t a true rapper teaching my princess rapping. i mean, we already helped her out a great deal but if their teacher was some fake wannabe… ❜ he tapered off, shaking his head. the mere thought caused anger to rise within him.
✧・゚: * — yejin… the woman he loved, the mother of his children. he was devastated by her death, yet no more devastated than the fact that his youngest daughter would have to live with that in mind for the rest of her life. he KNEW that blame and guilt would haunt the youngest im daughter, especially when every day of her life is a reminder that her mother gave hers for it. ❛ i miss her. ❜ he said quietly, leaning against the seat and closing his eyes as he heaved a heavy sigh. yejin would kill him for smoking again, but he couldn’t stop. not when it was the only thing keeping him from doing OTHER things he knew would have her rolling in her grave.
✧・゚: * — ❛ she has her career. ❜ he mused, running a frustrated hand through thick dark brown locks. ❛ but she overworks herself so much, you know? as if she has something to prove. ❜ he could understand it, of course. with a mother giving her life for her daughter to live, he KNEW that haeryung wanted to prove that she wasn’t wasting the life given to her; he knew that haeryung wanted to make them proud. ❛ i’m already so proud of her. i’m sure yejin is too… i just don’t want to see her putting so much unnecessary stress on herself thinking that she HAS to for our sake. ❜
ღ. she sunk in her chair until her feet were able to reach the small table in front of them, propping them atop it and releasing a sigh. her arms flew into the air in exasperation, just the thought of all the trainees with no talent and no passion draining what little energy she had left. behind all the stories of these idols that only had dreams to stand on stage and share their talents was a dozen other idols with very little talent and very little drive, who wandered here and there just hoping someone else could tweak their singing or rapping enough that their visuals could carry them. it was incredibly frustrating. “some of these kids are beyond the help of even me. i genuinely wonder why some of them even picked this path. they have no passion and their will is so weak. how can they face any type of adversity?” she couldn’t help but snort at the thought of seulgi being taught by someone similar to the idols that rapped because they simply couldn’t carry a tune. of course alexei would be against it but she certainly wouldn’t have let that happen either. the young girl was simply too talented to have someone do that kind of disservice to her.
those three words from him was more than enough to bring tears to her eyes. she could feel them pricking at the corners and she began blinking furiously in an attempt to hold them back. right now was about him and his daughter and she would be damned if she was going to cry and take that away from him. besides, she had spent far too long acting like she was the true victim in yejin’s death and she wasn’t going to make him comfort her anymore. she had already asked too much of him in the years they had known each other. “i...i know you do.” the words were shaky but she gave his thigh another squeeze.
a rueful smile made its way to her face as he spoke of haeryung. such a talented little girl with so much potential; just like her parents. “she’s just doing the best she can with what she has. we’re all there for her and she knows it. but she also comes from an incredibly talented family. like you said, she feel she has a lot to prove but that isn’t necessarily bad. remember when we were young?”
