Fibre crafts are 50% soothing repetitive action and 50% "God Fucking Damnit"
I'm haunted by the ghosts of all the patterns I downloaded with the intentions of making that I never, ever, ever will
(the ones I paid for are poltergeists)

every time you giggle at "fingering weight yarn" a 12-year-old angel gets its wings
Designing yet another shawl based on a Decemberists song (namely Joan in the Garden? Check.
Accidentally finding a place that looks like a fey portal to take pictures of it? Check, check, and check.
The only thing keeping me going with all this endless garter stitch? Seeing the colors I’m using together and knowing how pretty the finished shawl will be!

Trying to sell handmade crafts in this economy is so. Like. Hey guys I know we're all broke as fuck but do you want my silly little things. I'm very good at it. For the time it takes to make them + skill + materials it's gonna be 30$ per silly little thing. But also shipping costs 12$ for reasons outside my control so it's actually 42$ now. Sorry. No I really can't charge less than that. Yeah I know. Ok. Bye
And this is for my things that are silly and little. I'm not even one of those people making, like, quilts and blankets and shit. Can we pour one out for the fiber artists making quilts and blankets and shit
I'm presenting a tiny crocheted bird to you. Putting it into the palm of your hand. This can be yours. For what seems like too much money but I promise it isn't. We've all just really lost sight of fiber arts' value with industrialization and outsourced sweatshop labor etc. This is actually the minimum I could ask for without fucking myself. I don't like what this implies about mass produced items either. It's really horrific. You can get an ethically sourced 42$ tiny crocheted bird though
Shortly after posting this I received an order for nearly 200$ worth of tiny crocheted birds this is the good luck post for people actually paying for your handmade crafts
why does fixing a dropped stitch make me feel like im defusing a fucking bomb
proof that i'm a transmutation wizard, actually
y'all gonna love this one. Jesus.

I didn't know what the right term was in english so now i just look like some kind of knitting addict who just wants it to end.
knitting is fun bc even when though i've been knitting for several years i can mess up in ways that i don't understand
Me: ah finally I’ve finished my knitting project
Me, less than five minutes later: shit I need a new knitting project the hands hunger for fresh yarn
