mirrorball makes me so fucking sad though like when she says “hush i know they said they end is near” it makes me think of in miss americana when she was talking about how now she’s reached 30 she doesn’t think she will ever be as successful as she was in her 20s. ever since the 1989 era finished, she has constantly felt like the end of her career is coming so when she says “i’m still on that trapeze i’m still trying everything to keep you looking at me” i feel like she’s talking about how she’s praying and doing everything she can to make sure her career retains the same prolificness that it did a few years ago, even though a part of her has also accepted that she’ll never reach that level again. god it makes me so sad
