Giovanni stepped to meet her around the tall green hedge, “No dream, I am as here as the saints will let me, Claudia. My dearest daughter.”
He hoped that she would not be too startled by his sudden appearance after all these years, though he had watched over her ever since his passing.
Years had gone by, she still remembered that face. Her heart felt pulled as she moved closer, completely baffled.
“So... So you’re an angelo then si?” She asked, the Madam pulling her hood down to reveal her face more in the light. Despite the lack of sleep and the long hours, she still had a fire in her eyes and a small glow in her cheeks that Giovanni could still see.
