Okay I might have like dreamed this or something but does anyone else remember a post going around with screenshots/ maybe art/Mock ups going around the Whump community probably on tumblr of a game(?) with customization that was kinda like a pet simulator I think but it was like keeping a whumpee in a basement. I remember art style as grey very specific circle head and body probably low poly 3d look and the post was about all the cool customization it had/ would have for your characterā¦ actually it might have been just a very fleshed out character creator Iām not sure I donāt remember this would have been years ago.
Character running late to a meeting or something everyone waiting for them to get their to start, they stumble in covered in blood barely able to stand on the verse of collapse.
WHUMPTOBER is a month-long, prompt-based creation CHALLENGE (think: Inktober, but whumpier). There are four prompts for each day of the month, giving 124 for you to play with! There is also a list of 18 alternative prompts that can be subbed in for any day to give participants as much creative freedom as possible.
All prompts are meant to serve as inspiration without being taken literally (e.g. you donāt have to include the exact wording of prompts into your work). Feel free to run rampant on interpretation. For example, if the prompt is āflame", you could create something with reference to a candle/campfire, your character could have suffered a burn, or the flame could be a reference to an āold flameā - an old relationship. Itās truly down to you!
You can produce work in any media you choose, including but not limited to: writing, visual artwork, photo/video/audio edits, paper crafts and elaborate recommendation lists (not just a list of links). You can participate as much or as little as you want (i.e. you donāt have to do ALL the prompts if you donāt want to) and prompts can be used in any order. They are also free to use even after the event ends.

āwhat if this character who is strongly against killing is Forced to kill several people angainst their will less they end up killing even more thus making them believe that they are a monster and since their murder was faked (they are unaware of this) no one ever comes for them which makes them think their family friends are better off without them them think that their family and friends view them as a monster to be put down. And what if said friends and family are looking desperately for their murderer only for one of them to mistake them for their murderer and attack them which only re-enforces said belief and now their friends and family have to figure out what to do.ā
Im not even half way through this chapter I think ima need to cut this one into two.
For context my word count for the second longest chapter is 2625 words (and that one is nearly done. like i just need to finish editing it. I havenāt even started editing this one)?
On the topic of like writing Whump kinda felt like sharing two of the reasons I write it
1, this character even when broken down and hurt still manages to survive changed by the experience but still cared for and eventually able to heal if itās not linear and messy and stuff but they heal.
2 my emotions are like a Storm rn and I need to break down a character to their bare essentials though suffering or Iāll explode
I love all the ways to describe someone's voice...weak, strained, hoarse, tired, fearful... And then of course someone who can't speak for the pain or exhaustion
This! The way the voice (or lack thereof) is described can make or break the tone of the scene and how I feel it
Perhaps it means, "I'm so worried it's like a violent illness. It's causing me physical pain." You instantly feel that shot of adrenaline, both sickening and thrilling.
Or better yet, "I'm so worried about you I'm going to do violence about it." The protectiveness hhhhhhhh...
Horrid thought. Character gets injured on mission but their companion gets injured worse. Much more visibly to the point that when their found their companion is unconscious and Characters injury is missed. They donāt say anything (maybe they donāt think they deserve to) and expect the thing to heal on its own.
It doesnāt.
It gets worse. Infected maybe. Or maybe they just underestimated the severity of it.
With all the chaos no one notices until they can barely stand.
