Stand alone image, I chose this image, as I like the angle of viewpoint, the fact that the runner is off the ground shows motion, which was actually quite hard to achieve. The long leading lines from behind still carry your eye forward as they also lead out the page, you can get a feel for the atmosphere with the smiles on peoples faces as well as their actions. Not much editing was done to enhance this image, just a little depth added around the runner to draw the observers eye .

10 portraits, making a book within indesign. This process was one that I did get frustrated with at points, however I learned so much in making this book and I am actually very pleased with the results. I decided to make a cover with colour and text so that I could learn and use the programme more. Inserting the text and the images to the book took a little getting used to, I just had to remember a text box and colour box and picture box, draw that box and insert the data. I changed the text so that it was left aligned and that each of the last words on the sentence could be seen in full, it did not have three letters of a word and then the next four on the next line.

Some of the tutorials I used for premier pro in making my moving image video. One top tip I learned was to do a credit roll in a word document prior to the text insert in the credit roll.

Premier pro took a little getting used to again. It is quite a daunting programme at first. I watched a couple of tutorials, however once I had my bin open with my media and I managed to put the music on the screen first I felt a little better. At the time of shooting I had gave myself plenty of extra time on each shot, this came in useful in post as I could put my markers to a little longer to help aid the cross dissolve edit that I used to merge the scenes. I watched a tutorial on how to add a camera roll to the end of a video and I then carried out that task. Image three you can see by the green line that I exported the video after I had rendered it. I used full hd and I I uploaded the video to tumblr.

This was a failed attempt at a moving image project. I had decided to make a video about water, due to its relaxing qualities, with being ill this year I spent some recovery time near the water and this is what gave me the idea. I went to the waterside loaded with my equipment, and shot for quite some time, I found what I thought where some interesting angles to shoot. I was very pleased by the end of shooting, I really thought I had some great captures that would make a lovely scene. Once I got home however I loaded the work into my external hard drive, I only checked one or two files and they looked ok. When I went to make the actual project a while later, I was horrified to find out that most of my shots where out of focus and not in a creative way. This I now know was due to my eyesight. I had taken a reaction to the medication the hospital had provided me and it had started to affect my sight and my balance, I just did not realise at that time my video had been effected. The video needed scrapped.

Music choice for my moving image video, I used a sight that gives you free access to use their music from them as long as you credit them when u use it. I decided that I would put a rolling screen at the end and credit the sight that way so that every time it is played it will always have a credit attached to it.

Finding the music took a little while as I required something that would fit on an emotional uplifting level. I decided to go with a title named 'a new beginning'. This music lasted 2 minutes and fourteen seconds. I had to shorten this so downloaded the file and put it into Audacity a programme that allows you to shorten music as well as add a music fade to the beginning and the end of it. The files music, video and stills all where put into a media file and opened in premier pro. The first step was to put the music file into the set after that it was just working out what clip when next and for what length of time.

Adaption to original movie quote image, showing the edit process, I tried to create writing with coffee and bring it into the image in photoshop in a new layer, I played with blend modes, I was not at all happy with the outcome. Take 2 I then decided I would write the movie quote and place it on the cup, this advanced my knowledge of photoshop as I had not used the arch tool very much. I did experiment with text and the pen tool, however I found using the arch took and elongating the text the effect was more to what I was looking for. I used emboss and a slight drop shadow on the writing to convey a little depth to the text. I do feel that this image is not as in your face when it comes to the meaning within its context with the writing being more hidden, this invites the viewer around the image.

Further development of the experiment theme for 10 portraits to include, tile transfer which took over 24 hrs to complete, freezing a photo, painting onto a photo as well as using wax to see the effects on a photo from the hot wax. Not all of these experimental portraits made it to my final ten images for presentation, however I am glad that I did get the opportunity to experiment and answer some questions I had about the what if's of a photo.
