It's starting to piss me off that people are saying that critiquing Nolan's Odyssey for lack of accuracy is wrong or annoying, and that everybody is allowed to interpret mythology however they want.
But you're only saying that because you don't think Greek Mythology deserves to be treated with any type of respect for it's cultural background.
Nolan rejected the expert in re-constructing Greek Armour, then procedeed to cast not a single Greek for the production, then he littered the places of Greece where he filmed, and had a scene where Odysseus talks to an stranger. The stranger speaks greek and Odysseus, the greek, does not understand him.
Sorry but if Nolan did a movie on Aztec mythology and didn't inquiry with a single Mexican expert on Aztecs, or an Indigenous person from there, avoided casting a single Latino at the very least, littered a Mexican beach just because, and then had an scene where an Aztec cannot understand his own mother language, would you then see the issue or not?

A double piece featuring Penelope, Clytemnestra and Helen 🥹❤️ cause I love them very much
I hope you like it 🙂↕️

and
sirius "you seem pretty cruel for a boy who's nothing like them" black

telemachus’s gorgeous parents, odysseus and penelope
the queen’s gaze is as sharp and cunning as her husband’s, perhaps that is why he overlooked the beautiful helen for her. her bright eyes only seem to soften for him
Modern au where Odysseus has to work overseas away from his family (he stays with Diomedes)
More modern AU ideas (Epic the Musical based + maybe hints of iliad & odyssey refs later when I start drawing these)
Polites accidentally stepped on Polyphemus' dog's tail and accidentally knocked over his food. Offered to just hug it out and got smacked
Odysseus almost fought with Polyphemus but Poseidon got him kicked out of the airport, so they missed their flight
Eurylochus got them the wrong tickets because Aeolus said they had a great deal on prices
Decided to use the train but Circe then called them for an emergency at their branch location, they stop at the station nearby
Met Tiresias at the branch location and he told Odysseus that there's an accident on the railway and they can't use the train home anymore for a bit
Also they met some old coworkers that got transferred there and they kinda had beef with Odysseus
Odysseus decided to rent a car to drive back home. Tiresias told them not to rent a car at this one place because the dealer is fishy
They couldn't find any other car rentals within their price range and Eurylochus decided to rent a car from that place
The car broke down and Odysseus left Eurylochus to deal with the owners (Helios and Zeus)
Odysseus stayed at a cheap airbnb for the night, turns out the owner is his old coworker Calypso that was obsessed with him. He had to call his mentor Athena to pick him up
Athena got him a new plane ticket
Before sunrise, Hermes came to pick him up with his scooter, he drove Odysseus to the airport
Odysseus sat next to Poseidon on the plane and it was awkward
and nothing bad happened ever
he did, in fact, stab him
modern au doodlings

Penelope and lil' Telemachus with a toy dad made him before he left for war 🐴
Young and old Clytemnestra :) I always struggle a lot with decorations and ornaments, so hopefully I did well here
Happy Valentine's Day! Don't forget to surpise your husband; after all red is the color of love :)
Odysseus- kills over a hundred people, beheads someone
Odysseus, not even ten minutes later- “Oh my son look how much you’ve grown 🥰💕💖 Oh my boy sweetest joy I’ve known 🥺✨🌸”
