In lieu of certain events that occurred in Anaheim, CA over the past week the streets have been on fire. Many have taken to violence in their protests but that's not the fire we're talking about. This is about the fire in the hearts of the people. The embers in the eyes of those who were attacked. The same fire that we at The Doot Camp felt when learning of the injustice of the Anaheim Police Department, some of which had been caught on video. Seeing with our own eyes the injustice we already knew to exist in our society fueled us to finally call it out, in hopes to continue to make others aware, and to charge them to do the same.

We the people are people. We are to stand as such. We are to be treated as such.

The 8 city, 2 week ILL MOVEMENT Tour came to an end with a Philadelphia homecoming performance at the renowned World Cafe Live on June 24th. By this time the Doots had already raged through New York, Vermont, and Massachusetts, seeing and experiencing a lot on the way. The first outside of Philly city however was Pittsburgh. The good folks at the Shadow Lounge and BTP treated them well and even provided them with their first interview to kick off the tour. (BTPLife X ILL DOOTS) It was interesting and insightful for those who didn't really know who these guys were traveling through their cities and burning down their stages.

Jump forward to June 24th again. Fuego Group's own Daniel Perez came out to spend a weekend with ILL Doots. He ended up getting footage of the rehearsal before the show, an interview in between, and footage from the final show of the ILL MOVEMENT tour which was... disgusting!

BTP got how we felt in the beginning. Daniel Perez got how it was in the end. Love and thanks to the fans who got everything in between. Now stay tuned because there is still more coming!

A pre-concert jam sesh by the members of Philly hip-hop conglomerate ILL Doots.

Building on the model laid down by their hometown predecessors The Roots, this 12 member band has gone from a dorm room studio project to regional tours.

Coming from varied musical backgrounds, the groups many talented musicians have a distinct funk and jazz feel which Ill Doots’ two emcees flow over with ease.

Don’t let their jazzy background fool you though, these guys know how to get down and set the crowd off on command.

The group performed last night at Pittsburgh’s Shadow Lounge and will be seen tonight at The Vault in Buffalo, NY. Music at 9pm.
