“mood” is basically the equivalent of “amen”
and now I am picturing an entire congregation solemnly intoning “big mood”

I think one of the worst things we do to the people that we love is expect them not to fail and I don’t think there is room for that in love
“Ariana Grande is taking a big step forward … moving on from the terrorist attack at her Manchester concert last year by completing her 4th album, which we’re told is a “personal” masterpiece. Sources close to the singer tell TMZ … she just played the entire album at a wrap meeting with Republic Records execs and her manager, Scooter Braun, and everyone’s raving – it’s her best yet. We’re told half of the album was produced by Pharrell and the other half by Max Martin, but Ariana was involved in the writing of every song … something new for her.”

Start seeing people and relationships as they are, not as what they have the potential to be. Potential isn’t prediction, and it is unrealistic (and oftentimes, ultimately disappointing) to equate the two. Optimism, open mindedness, and the understanding/belief that people and circumstances can change are positive qualities, but there is a fine line between optimism and delusion. It isn’t pessimistic to see things simply as they are; it’s realistic and can save you from disappointment and disenchantment that comes with assuming people and relationships are on an upward trajectory of improvement when, more often than not, what you see is what you get.
Ask yourself: if this person/relationship didn’t change and remained exactly are they currently are/it currently is, would you still want to remain involved? If the answer is no, you’re attached to the potential, not the reality, and it is in your best interest to let them go. Why expend unnecessary time and energy trying to mold someone/something into something they’re/it’s not, when you could just as easily invest that same time and energy into building something with someone who is already on the same page as you and whose personality, way of being, approach to life, and future goals are already in line with yours? Free yourself from the binds of unrealistic expectations stemming from unrealistic perceptions and enjoy the liberation and lightness that will follow.

Survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting announce the ‘March For Our Lives’ on March 24 in support of gun control
‘‘… Not one more. We cannot allow one more child to be shot at school. We cannot allow one more teacher to make a choice to jump in front of a firing assault rifle to save the lives of students. We cannot allow one more family to wait for a call or text that never comes. Our schools are unsafe. Our children and teachers are dying. We must make it our top priority to save these lives…’’
