headcanon notes on luc’s father / the lebleu family :
the lebleus have worked for the florian royal family for generations
lumière’s mother & father , luc’s grandparents , worked in the within the kitchens of the castle . luc’s grandfather was a chef , his grandmother a kitchen hand
when lumière was young he spent much of his time in the kitchens visiting his mother & father & was extremely familiar & well liked among the kitchen staff .
lumière has outstanding ability in the kitchen from being taught by his parents , he’s extremely familiar with food & would have made an incredible chef .
however , his personality was so naturally charming , charismatic , welcoming , & likable that the florians thought it be a waste to keep him hidden away in the kitchens once he was officially under their staff therefore they , instead , made him a footman .
adam’s trust in lumière , seeing how the man could defuse bad situations with ease & that he was highly well liked , later resulted in adam taking lumière on as his personal footman despite lumière’s tendency to act on his own accord sometimes .
as it was so easy to see how much of his father luc was , the choice to have luc follow in place as ben’s personal footman was made with no second thoughts from anyone .
lumière has passed to luc what his parents taught him in the kitchen . luc , like his father & grandfather , is a very talented cook .
luc’s grandmother is still alive , she lives in a quiet cottage some odd ways from the castle . lumière will take luc to visit her sometimes .
though lumière commonly went back to plumette , luc is very aware his father was extremely promiscuous & this is the reason luc hardly knows his mother . however , luc does not mind this fact . after he was born his father did cut back on his trysts & plumette , while not his birth mother , became much like a mother figure to him .
luc’s mother travels for a living . she’s an explorer at her core & while she loves her son she wasn’t ready to end her exploring at the time he was born nor could she take him with her . she fully believed her child would be happier if he stayed stationary with his father . she has come to visit a few times before , but not often .
