can we talk about how devsisters is ship baiting us for shadowvanilla and purelily at the same time?
first, they do white lily's death and make it entirely revolve around pure vanilla and her. they don't specify how white lily feels or what "precious companion" means ever, which is completely unnecessary. combined with the possibility of bringing her back, it feels as if they're trying to make it canon despite it being 5 YEARS of willy not reciprocating, and pure vanilla having gotten over it over time, only for everything to come back after her death.
and then they try to make shadowvanilla seem possible too! I feel like zooming in on pure vanilla when shadow milk said "look at you, beautiful" in the trailer, a quote not directed or EVEN INVOLVING HIM AT ALL, was super queer-bait-y. and not to mention it's the more canon one in the og korean dub, because as much as a lot remains the same, they watered down so much gay subtext and wording relating to shadow milk's feelings for pure vanilla (e.g, changing "fell in love with" to "secretly wishes to befriend" or something along those lines in the sheep cake hound description idk what it's called).
it seems like they want both sides to be true, but that's just not how it works. for some reason, they think it's okay to make one more canon in english and one more canon in korean??? they need to pick a side, and to be honest, my opinion is that shadowvanilla is the slightly better option. purelily had it's chance, and I think pure vanilla needs to heal properly from her death (even if brought back because it would be jarring and she would still probably not reciprocate) by moving on and focusing on himself, than LATER by dating someone else (probably shadow milk, based on how what is canonically implied in the og dub). but that's just my opinion. no, I don't want to debate which ship is better, ship what you want, I'm going based on which one would be better for the current story. my opinion will likely not be changed, so I beg, do not interact if you want to hate.
