despite not showing up for class itself, natsume had bothered to stop by the 2 - A classroom too early to be reasonable just to not be seen, to drop off a simple little gift, tucked away in subaru's desk for him to find when he got there. it's a box filled with chocolates, a mandatory treat, but more importantly, the shiniest 100 yen coin he could find and a glittering blue crystal, as close to subaru's eye color he could find, all wrapped up in a golden ribbon.

            by the time he’s entered the classroom, all appears as usual: souma is animatedly explaining something to adonis, hokuto is playing the straight - man role with makoto   (  without him?! how could you, ukki?!  )  ,  and a certain red - haired boy is utterly nowhere to be seen. however, what is out of the ordinary is a suspiciously enticing sparkle hiding in the depths of his desk, and without further ado subaru dashes over to it, eyes locked onto this mysterious... whatever it is.

            when he does finally arrive, hand eagerly diving into his desk to grab the sparkle’s source, he’s met with the sight of a variety of gifts, all glittering in a beautiful golden ribbon. there’s only one possible person responsible for this, and he can’t help but grin at the thought  —  of course he’d be too embarrassed to be there in person when subaru discovered it, but that just means he’s gotta give natsume twice the affection when he sees him later! for now, though, he’ll gleefully admire the gifts, holding up the coin and crystal to the light so he can see how they shine.   (  he’ll treasure these forever.  )
