any lil advice/tip/warning for someone who wants to pick up pixel art 😀

my warning is game jobs are crazy stupid hard to find right now and have been for a couple years now. i had to leave the industry because of it. you also tend to very often get stuck with no showcase-able work because of ndas which makes it even harder to find jobs.

but if you're just doing it as a hobby or to make your own game its fun ❤️

Fun hagfish facts:

they don't have eyes, and their eye spots can only vaguely detect darkness and light

they have 3 to 4 pairs of sensory tentacles around their mouth

their skin is attached to the underlying tissues only in specific spots, loosely sliding around everywhere else;

they bite into carcasses, then tie their bodies into knots and use that tension to rip out a chunk of meat. loose skin helps with doing that without harm to themselves;

they can excrete UNFATHOMABLE amounts of slime. proteins that form slime in contact with water, to be precise - so we don't really know how much total slime they can produce, each time we've tried to estimate we've simply run out of water.

do you have any favorite tabliss themes to recommend? I got the firefox extension at your recommendation and it looks great so far, but the r/firefoxcss links on your post are broken now. hold on I got distracted and found r/tabliss; looks promising. btw, do you know of any way to add a custom search engine to the search bar widget, or is it limited to the dropdown menu?

hmm that's weird, looks like mostly the reddit posts are broken. firefox might have a different way of setting up customization so maybe that's why? just theorizing though, i dunno. resources are usually pinned on /r/firefoxcss if you need help setting up css customization though.

tbh i just use the one line firefox setup nowadays because it's a bit easier to update when there are firefox patches, and you don't even have to deal with sidebery or anything.

here's what i've got going on

for tabliss there's not really themes per se, you just add widgets and move them around where you like. here's my settings:

you can configure each widget within the settings cog

not sure about tabliss search since i just use firefox search at the top, but you can make firefox use any search engine you want (i use the one that's google but it filters out ai results)
