Not to derail the conversation but it is important to know, I think. When it comes to germany, also considering reparations for the shoa, it was very much political tactics to participate in international politics again. For example being part of the NATO. For Germany acknowledging the shoa, reparing (some) of the damage and all in all oppose national socialism was indirectly forced in an international context to gain a standing as a strong economic Nation again. Which worked quiet well..

Does Germany acknowledge the genocide on the Herero and Nama and their participation in colonialism? .... Thats another story, Because there is literally no political pressure to do so.
