HELLO!! I saw that requests are open!!:D
could I request a fu x reader taken place around his birthday (So a few months after where the manga is rn) where reader is on team eager and has relatively bad luck, but after fu is sent with them on a mission and simething good happens to them, they begin to take fu everywhere and basically see him as their Goodluck charm?
and basically everytime simething good happens, they kiss him somewhere as a thank you? (Cheeks, forehead, head, nose, etc) and one day when they were about to kiss him on the cheek, he turned his head to ask them a question and they ended up accidentally kissing? And then after that their feelings for eachother are at like an all time high and things are pretty awkward

Wherever you went trouble followed.
For new people at first glance they may chalk it up to just some unfortunate coincidences, but after spending just a day with you their answer would quickly be proven false.
From when you could remember you had always strung up bad luck. Not the kind where you wake up late in a hurry, lose a pair of socks, or occasionally bump into furniture. Those were only the minor ones.
On missions it was as if you were a gold mine for Trash Beasts, being sensed and targeted until the only option left is to either fight them all off or pray to anything.
In the beginning when joining the Cleaners it was hard to find somewhere you could fit in. Fighting swarms of Trash Beasts let alone risking their lives was enough a Cleaner could handle, so with you bad luck in the mix? They would claim that you were 'better suited' on a different team. You knew they didn't mean any harm, they just didn't want to roped with whatever unfortunes that seemed to loom over you.
So when put into Team Eager you had expected the same. Go on a few missions and then be transferred to the next team. But this time it was different. Assignments came and went, more trash beasts and misfortunes, but your transfer never came.
You didn't speak it out aloud, out of fear that if you did it'd be jinxed. Words weren't needed, your team's actions were louder than words could ever be. They never spoke ill or blamed you for mishaps, everything instead just continued on.
If anything were to occur Tamsy was able to think and plan ahead. Keeping his calm demeanor and treating everything and you with ease. Whenever you were in danger he'd use his Vital Instrument to string you back. He of course knew all your bad luck, but never once voiced any disappointment aloud.
When it came to Delmon, he was both similar and different to how Tamsy approached it. Whereas Tamsy can keep a cool head, if you were to get hurt Delmon would already be concerned and yelling if they were okay. Protective of his comrades, he always made sure to keep an eye out for you during missions. And throughout all the missions, they both didn't view you as a hindrance.
It had filled a part inside that you didn't know was missing. A place to belong and feel accepted. You knew how much they were willing to put on the line for you, and with that knowledge you were willing to do the same.
You couldn't get rid of the bad luck, already having tried everything like charms, talisman, and lucky tokens, but nothing seemed to work.
Assignments would go through similar events. The drive there along with the rocky road would make the car bump and when hitting a specific hard spot your seatbelt would all the sudden become loose, having to hold onto anything to prevent yourself from being launched out. Then when reaching polluted zones all the sudden your air tube has a random hole, unable to use it.
The most frustrating one is when you're about to finish a giant Trash Beast with your Vital Instrument, but then you trip over thin air and it doesn't go as planned.
And the unluckiness didn't only stick for missions, but through any literal mundane tasks.
Getting out of bed? Your legs would catch the blanket causing you to trip first on the floor. Heading to the dining room? Someone would accidently open the door right on your face, a nosebleed following afterwards. Happened so many times that you had lost count. That or maybe after enduring many bumps you've forgotten.
After getting into quite a lot of accidents it came to the point where you had grown quite close with Eishia from how many times you had to go to the hospital room in the HQ.
Having accepted the bad luck part of yourself, you just had to deal with it you thought. Despite having seemed to grow used to it, it also made you always be on edge. To be cautious with whatever you went or did. It was tiring, draining, but you'd rather be safe than be in a hospital bed after every circumstance.
Then one day you were called in for another mission that didn’t go as usual. Tamsy had called a day off and Delmon was busy with something else making him unavailable. That left you by yourself.
Semiu of course wasn't about to send you off into a mission all on your own after past incidents and how it was protocol, so she sent someone along with you. A guy called Fu. You've heard and seen him a couple of times in the Cleaners HQ, but only saying a few greetings nothing much.
After getting a run down of what the mission's about you waited near the reception for him. It took a few minutes for him to come, walking with a hint of nervousness as you greeted him with the same same smile you gave whenever passing by the hallways.
"All right, let's go." You said, walking through the doors as he trailed behind you.
Thankfully someone from the HQ had offered to give a ride to the location, with that you both sat in the backseats. The drive wasn't that long with the destination being somewhat not that far. You had made a slight conversation with the driver, voice holding a natural demeanor, but whenever Fu tore his gaze away from the window to glance at you he noticed the small details.
The way your hand gripped at your seatbelt tightly and how your eyes never strayed from looking straight at the road, as if you were waiting for something. It was clear that you were on edge based on mannerisms, but the way you talked casually showed contrast that Fu couldn't help notice silently.
While he was in his own silent world, you were facing your own. You were tense, waiting for the moment a bump in the road that would rock the car significantly then at the same time your seatbelt would come loose. But that didn't happen. Odd. Must've been a fluke you thought to yourself.
Once getting dropped off you gave your quick thanks, Fu giving the driver a small nod as you two began to walk.
"There's a small town over here," you began, "It’s said that there's been a Trash Beast terrorizing the people for the past week." As you talked, Fu listened.
"Just saying if anything bad were to happen or go south, watch out for yourself alright?" Informing him you tried to pass it off as lighthearted. You didn't want to wrap him into messes that followed you, he was the one who just so happened to be chosen to go with you on the assignment after all.
On Fu's part, he had heard stories of what went on the missions you and Team Eager took. He thought maybe people had exaggerated some parts, but with just one look from how slightly roughed up you looked coming back after every mission it was kind of clear.
"Keep an eye out just in case." Tipping him, the entrance of the town came into view with its people looking worried, but once recognizing the Cleaner's uniform they appeared to be more relieved.
'You're here!" They exclaimed and hurried their way towards the two of you. After getting them to slightly calm down and tell you the full story, it was said that the monster- trash beast- was last seen in the deeper parts of the town. Getting some helpful information you looked to your side at Fu, using a small gesture of your head to continue walking.
The townspeople stayed back as you both headed towards the last known location. Things had been going smoothly, oddly enough. No injuries on the car ride here, summed up to a fluke. Obtaining useful information, must be another fluke right?
Arriving there, nothing looked out of the ordinary. Just the houses, a few shops, normal. It appeared like that to the plain eyes, but you felt the all too familiar gut feeling.
On any other mission with your team you're the one who'd usually stumble across the Trash Beast by mistake and the rest follows. But for some reason nothing had popped up yet, even with Fu by your side looking there were no signs.
Then everything happened in an instant. One second you were standing in place and the next you were pulled by Fu, his hands on your waist from having moved you away from the spot that now had a crater. For a moment you were shocked, not from how strong the impact looked, but from how in the world your bad luck didn't glue you to that spot and eat that punch. While with Fu he was shocked with himself, his body having seemed to move on its own sensing the incoming attack from out of the blue.
Snapping out of your shock, you regain your composure, seeing the Trash Beast with its now full form. The people had said that it came out in random parts of the day, like rolling a dice. And every time it made itself known it would show fully before disappearing once again, hiding itself from the views of the town after creating havoc.
Remembering that you turned to Fu. "We have to defeat it before it hides itself again." Your brows furrowed while observing the trash's figure, then giving him a small smile.
"I can count on you having my back, right?" You said, recounting him saving you last second.
Upon hearing that Fu whispered a small 'yeah,' still seeming to be caught up on what happened.
Moving, you used your Vital Instrument countering the Trash Beast, Fu all the while always seeming to come just in time to keep you from being crushed.
Weakening the Beast, it staggered and not giving it any time to recover you readied to deliver the final blow. So far everything seemed too good to be true, you were sure that your bad luck would spark something unexpectedly and things would go wrong. But it didn't.
With Fu giving you a boost from below you managed to give one last strike to its head, watching it go limp defeated.
It took you a second to process what you did. You? Delivering the final attack and it actually worked this time? Patting yourself you didn't notice any stinging sensation from wounds. 'I must be dreaming,' you thought.
Fu who was making his way back to you noticed the look of disbelief on your face. He wasn't given enough time before you ran toward him with open arms, enveloping him in a hug. Cheeks growing a pink hue, his voice came out stuttered as you rambled on overjoyed. He could make out some of what you were saying, how for once you did it and the bad luck not having won for the first time in forever.
Unsure if his arms should reciprocate or stay still as a statue, all of his scrambled thoughts halted as he felt your lips slightly kiss his warm cheek. Pulling back you gave him an earnest 'thank you' with a smile acknowledging how much he helped, one that had his heart pounding a thousand miles and his face rushing with pink, both from what his eyes were seeing and the lingering ghostly feeling of where you had softly given him a small kiss.
You mostly remained oblivious, still overcome with a newfound sense of triumph. The villagers gave you two their appreciation as the drive back to the headquarters held a better atmosphere. You talked more to Fu compared to the more lax drive when first getting there. Fu on the other hand kept replaying the moment in his head. Sure people have given him thanks before for doing them a favor or completing a task, but when he saw the sincere expression you looked at him with, something inside of him stirred.
Arriving back you bid your goodbye to the driver and a 'see you later' to Fu, eagerly making your way to find Delmon if he was done with whatever he had so you could recount the whole mission to him.
As you went out of Fu's sight his heart slowed down slightly, yet still held a noticeable pace.
Walking down the hallways with a sense of confidence, maybe your bad luck didn't have much power over you than you thought. After all this was the first time you had come back without an injury or needing to go to Eishia to patch you up.
But not even after two minutes of having left Fu and the car, your walk was cut abruptly with a door on the side of the hall smacking against your face. The person who opened it quickly apologized as you felt a recognizable liquid coming from your nose.
On second thought maybe you should go see Eishia.

The next mission came pretty quickly, you, Tamsy, and Delmon dealing with Trash Beasts once again. There was a bit of hope that sparked inside you that maybe it won't go wrong and that you still have luck even if it were so small. Though after it was completed it was proven incorrect.
Sitting on the side of the hospital bed as Eishia tended to your injured arm, you thought back to your previous mission with Fu.
During that time nothing bad happened on the way there and even throughout the fight. If anything it was as if your bad luck was reversed with the opposite.
In the end you came up with a hypothesis and found worth in trying it out. Once you had recovered you asked Semiu if she could pair you up with Fu like before and after discussing for a few minutes she ultimately agreed.
When the day had come this time you were more aware of your surroundings and what went on. The small details mattered, like how the car didn't shake hard as usual and how everything went smoothly just like before.
This time you conversed more with Fu, striking up conversation even as he would fidget in his seat but still respond.
Then when it came to the fight you had come out unscathed, landing a finishing blow all the while Fu had activated Hii when more Trash Beasts had come. Even when in the moment he had asked you to give him orders, you did so without trouble, if he needed something you didn't mind.
In the end you both completed the assignment without any casualties or accidents. Fu was met with your embrace and light kiss to his cheek again, sensing the happiness radiating off of you. He didn't know why you were so overjoyed in particular, but something about seeing you satisfied was enough for him.

It started slow at first. You'd still see each other when walking down the halls, but this time your interactions were more friendly than just acquaintances.
Then when it came to lunch, you'd sit next to him when seeing how he sat alone off to the corner. You knew and took note of how quite anxious he could get, so you made sure not to make it a big deal, acting like normal friends.
As the days passed the more you two had grown closer. Growing from just meeting in the halls and when it was time for lunch, to hanging outside.
Fu didn't mind that you had started to spend more time with him, in fact it became something that he looked forward to. Despite being in the Cleaners he couldn't help but feel like an outsider most of the time, whether it was because of his nervousness or him being anxious.
But he found that his overthinking thoughts were more silent when you were with him. As if your presence alone was able to ward them off without you even knowing.
Some people around the headquarters started to notice changes ever since that day. Seeing how Fu and you would be by each other almost throughout the whole day, following and bringing each other everywhere.
You- the one who was known to cause bad luck, who was always tense and on edge- now appeared to be more at ease. As if you didn’t need to worry over the smallest things. For once you finally felt like you could live more normally as the visits to the nurse grew less and less.
Your normalness then grew from basic things to a few times of luck. It could be an average day and you and Fu would head to the dining room for lunch and next thing you knew you were able to get the last piece of muffins they'd given out, your favorite flavor. Another example would be when finding coins on the floor at random, then finding them more often.
These fortunes were small, yes, but you had appreciated every single one of them. And with each good luck you came across you would give Fu a soft kiss on his cheek, nose, forehead, wherever your eyes landed on first as an act of ‘thank you.’ He would be flustered, but the more you peppered him with those affections the more he had become accustomed. Every time you would lean in he already knew what was to come next, the same thing that never failed to raise a faint blush and make his heart want to leap out of his chest.
You would take Fu wherever you went, to his own delight and he would follow by your side. He was almost like a good luck charm you couldn't help but love.

The month of March soon came by, another month is the season of Spring where much of anything didn't grow due to the ground’s state.
But as soon as the month's first day had come you locked in. After hearing that Fu's birthday was on the 29th you made it your own personal mission to find and get him the best gift! He had done so much for you, it only made sense to give him something to show how much you cared for him.
As the days passed you searched and brainstormed what to give him. Going to the nearest city, nothing stood out to you that you thought was the right item. The date neared as you became less settled, the fact of not having something prepared yet bothering you.
So you asked your team for advice. Tamsy told you that maybe something sentimental between the two of you, not giving out specifics but just an idea. Delmon had said that it was better to make the gift for him rather than just buying something, saying how the amount of effort you'd put into it would show care.
Thinking over all of their input you finally came up with an idea.
The day came and to Fu's surprise Enjin had set up a party in the dining room, banners and balloons, a tradition the Cleaners did when it was someone's birthday. As soon as Fu stepped through the door he was met with a union of 'Happy Birthday's' and pats on his back. And through the crowd you walked towards him, putting a silly party hat on his head that you and the others wore and telling him your own Happy Birthday.
Grabbing his hand in yours you made your way through the crowd to the main table that held the cake which you had gone out to get. Though you had to go with another Cleaner to make sure that you didn't slip or wind up ruining the cake when getting it beforehand.
Everyone had a fun time, talking, celebrating together, the adults having a few drinks while the younger ones ate all the snacks. It was going perfectly and at the same time you didn't voice it aloud so as to not jinx it.
Fu wasn't used to all the attention all at once, but it still warmed his heart that everyone else cared. Having cut the cake (and Enjin teasing about pushing his face in the cake for 'tradition') and opening some presents people had kindly given him, the party had lasted long, only being wrapped up once it had hit around midnight.
In Fu's room you helped him carry the gifts, settling them on a desk kept to the side. Even though it was around the time where everyone was heading off to bed, you stayed with Fu a bit longer, talking about the party and thinking back to the memorable moments. Like when they all sang happy birthday and Delmon's voice practically dominated everyone else's.
The night was filled with laughter as you both laid on his bed, legs dangling off the bedside. Internally you had been waiting for the right moment to give him your own gift and after debating it for a few minutes you finally built up the courage.
"Here's your last gift for the night. It took me a while to make but I hope you like it." Your voice trailed off the end, taking out a card you kept hidden with you.
Fu took it in his hands, almost so gently as if he were afraid that he'd accidentally ruin it. Opening the card his eyes gazed over what was inside. First he noticed your handwriting filling up one whole side of the page, the other adorned with pictures of you and him. He recognized them.
One where you both went to the city to visit the bakery. A photo of him mid-eating a pastry, but catching it in time to look at the camera for a second and you on the corner with a gleaming smile taking the picture.
Another was when you had your first sleepover in his room. In the background were pillows that you brought from your room and snacks that you had snuck in as you both laid on the floor with spare blankets. He could remember that night clearly, filled with laughter, enjoyment, and from stories you told. And after that more nights spent in each other's room became more often.
Looking over all the pictures Fu then read what was written. The more he read the more the color on his cheeks changed color. It was heartfelt. From recounting the first ever mission the two of you had gone on together, to saying how grateful you were to have him by your side, feeling that your bad luck didn't define you when he was around. How he viewed you past your unluckiness.
As he finished reading his thumb faintly grazed over the paper, acknowledging the amount of effort you had put into making it. You continued to lay by his side not saying a word and seeing the way the corners of his lips moved upwards.
Then came the second part of your gift as you leaned in with the intent to kiss him on his cheek like you always did. As you got closer Fu turned to face you about to say something, but his words were cut off by the feeling of your lips on his own.
Everything seemed to stop even the air itself, neither one of you moving for a second. Once realizing what happened you quickly pulled back, face now flushed with embarrassment. Fu on the other hand was left staying still as a statue, the act of processing what just happened seeming to malfunction his brain.
While he was in his own world your words stumbled over themselves until you told him a quick 'good night' and 'see you tomorrow' before leaving the room and towards your own.
As soon as you got inside you fell onto your bed. Flustered over what happened your brain didn't give you any mercy as it replayed it over and over in your head.
Of course you had feelings for Fu, he was nice, kind, cute, everything you could dream of, but you didn’t expect your first kiss to happen all that sudden.
Back in the other room, Fu eventually came back to his senses. Lifting his hand, his fingers brushed over his lips. It felt just like the first time you had kissed him on his cheek after your first mission together, the warm lingering feeling he once felt on his cheek now was on his lips.
On his part he too had fallen for you, how could he not? You accepted him for who he was, never once judging him. Every time you would smile at him he would always admire the sight, stomach filled with butterflies. It was pretty early on when he had started to catch feelings.
You both laid on your own beds with hearts filled with warmness. You could only hope that things wouldn't be awkward the next day.
⊹ ࣪ ˖
The morning came, waking up, doing your normal routine and walking to the Cleaner's dining room for breakfast. Throughout the whole time your mind was stuck on one thing, last night. No matter how much you tried to divert your brain it always came back to that moment.
Thankfully no doors met your face on the way there. Walking inside you already saw Fu sitting in his corner with the usual extra plate of food he'd get for you.
Taking a deep breath you walked over to him, telling yourself to smile as if the memory wasn't trying to chew its way out.
"'Morning Fu." You greeted, sitting on the saved seat.
"Good morning." His voice came out tiredly (definitely not because he stayed up all night with the kiss replaying over in his head).
The both of you ate, making small conversation and it was pretty clear to everyone else sitting around. Yours and Fu's words would stumble and even the tiniest amount of contact like hands brushing against each other would raise a blush out of the two of you. It was like watching two teenagers who clearly had feelings for each other, but were too oblivious to notice it. It made them want to just spell it out, but they'll just leave it for the both of you to piece it together.
With both of your feelings at an all time high, this was just one step closer. And who knew, maybe with him bringing you 'luck,' the two of you will realize it sooner than later.
