you didn’t like people knowing when you were sick for a multitude of reasons so you just never admitted when you were sick or let anyone take care of you
well...until now

schlatt could immediately tell you were coming down with a cold
even when trying to play off your symptoms as something else, schlatt just knew that you were sick despite your persistent pleads that you weren’t
needless to say when he found you lying in bed one morning practically motionless, your nose bright red, and burning with a fever of 101, he was concerned but not too surprised
you were upset with him seeing you in this state, wanting him to just leave you alone so you could be sick in peace but he just ignores that and starts bringing you blankets, medicine, etc
youre his best friend, he’s not gonna just let you suffer alone 🙄🙄
would be terrified to come near you at first, probably wearing a mask or something because he doesn’t want to get sick as well
but eventually after seeing you so miserable, he just says “fuck it” and just hangs out with you
spoon feeds you a bunch of tea and soup so you’re not starving and praises you after every bite you take cause he can see how painful it is
puts every fan in the house that he can find into your room so you can cool down (mf nearly short circuits your room)
but then also brings you every blanket in the house when you get too cold
also brings you some of his stuffed animals to cuddle with and keep you company while he’s gone grabbing something for you
sits beside you while you nap so he’s by your side in case you get any weird fever dreams and wake up all panicked/delirious
if you struggle with taking medicine, he’ll hype you UP as much as he can and cheer you on until it’s in your system
when you start to get better, schlatt is super happy (even if he doesnt show it) because he missed having his best buddy around!!!

you were acting really sluggish and dazed, very unlike your normal self
one morning, when he finds you absolutely miserable beside him with a horrible cough, he immediately goes into this super focused caretaker mode
this man is running around the house and grabbing anything and everything he can to help you out, despite your pleads saying how you can take care of yourself
doesn’t buy into that for a second however, you can barely move an inch, how are you gonna take care of yourself if you can’t even move???? he loves you too much to just let yourself be miserable
definitely tries to make you laugh to lighten the mood
silly voices, goofy puns, the occasional bit here and there to keep you talking with him
he’s so happy once he finally gets you laughing and joking along with him
does “here comes the airplane!” as he’s spoon feeding you just to make you smile some more
brings in the guinea pigs every once in a while to keep you company
keeps a little wash rag beside the bed to cool you down and pretends he’s like a doctor from olden days (ex: “oh y/n, i don’t know how much longer you have, my dear, your yellow fever is getting very out of hand…” “charlie, i just have a cold-” “hush, my love, that is the fever talking.”)

immediately jolts out of bed to go grab you some medicine and is confused why you don’t want him to take care of you
lets you vent to him about why and he listens super intently. he respects your boundaries ofc but he BEGS you to let him help, at least just a little bit, because he really loves you
this mf does his puppy eyes so you just immediately cave in-
will help out in any way he can, please give him something to do
need an extra blanket? heres seven more + his sweater. feeling icky? he's got a bath already running for you. feeling bored? man has a movie collection for DAYS and is down to watch literally anything
he's really happy once you become less and less reluctant to his help and tells you just how proud he is of you
makes you a bunch of your comfort foods if you're able to stomach them OR brews and brings you lots of tea throughout the day
opens up as many windows as possible to bring some sunlight and fresh air into the room
sings you little lullabies or his songs whilst your napping to soothe you as you sleep

extra careful as he feeds you soup because he doesnt want to hurt you at all (if you play a prank on him and pretend he burnt you, he will get so upset-)
brings you a ziplock bag full of ice to help cool you down and fake cries when it melts
