Fandom is so obsessed with contrasts in ships that they force them onto hollanov, a couple who are FAMOUSLY supposed to be similar. There is no slutty one and prudish one. They both love sex. There is no smart one and dumb one. They both excel at the same career where traditional metrics of academic intelligence don't apply. There is no jock and nerd. They are both professional athletes. There is no neatfreak and slob. They both pay other people to clean their houses. Please release yourself from the need to manufacture an opposites attract dynamic in every facet of their relationship, ESPECIALLY when the central conceit of hollanov as a couple is that they're more alike than everyone else seems to think.

Congratulations to the Heated Rivalry fandom: you turned a story about love and freedom into a space for harassment and prejudice against the very actors bringing it to life. It’s the exact opposite of what the story stands for. I truly hope Hudson and Connor have the strength to protect their mental health, and that their friendship—or whatever bond they share—isn’t damaged by this. I wish them nothing but growth, success, and the maturity to navigate their careers with confidence.

I’m new to being this involved in a fandom, but the backlash surrounding Hudson Williams and him having a girlfriend is shocking.

​They have apparently been together since way before any of us had even heard of him, and people literally exposed them first by digging through social media accounts (and Hudson even called out DeuxMoi about it). Yet now, I have seen people say that him posting/being photographed with her is "annoying to the industry," a "PR disaster," and "ruining his career." And why does anyone care about her Instagram account or pinned comments? That probably wouldn't happen if certain people stopped interacting with her accounts in the first place.

​What bothers me most is how this feels like a turning point. Hudson has already faced smear campaigns for months, but this girlfriend discourse seems to be causing even so-called fans to turn against him and unfollow him.

​Also, as someone who genuinely loves seeing Hudson and Connor together, I’m worried that all this behavior will end up ruining their relationship, like we’ve seen happen in other fandoms.

​So what is actually the problem here? Is all this really because Hudson doesn't appear to be gay or in a romantic relationship with Connor? Or if his current girlfriend is really such an issue, would it be all ok if they broke up and Hudson got a new girlfriend?

​I honestly want to hear what people have to say, because I'm just so confused!

I never speak on theses things because unfortunately this happens all the time and in all fandoms and I am always away from it, I just consume the media and I’m never involved at all in fandoms and not many of these comments appear on my feed, but you guys need to leave them the fuck alone.

You don’t know them, you don’t know what they do/love/feel/speak/think in their lives. AND IT IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. Always speculating and saying they do not love their loved ones and overanalysing every single video and stalking them and saying the most awful things about people they are with and their sexuality. “I have eyes” - what is that supposed to mean?!?!?! IT’S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS still and you should not judge a book by its cover. Leave them the fuck alone and go live your lives.
