Billboards That Advertise the Surrounding California Landscape by Jennifer Bolande via This is Colossal
Many women do not know they are pregnant until the second month of a missed period.
Ohio legislators passed a “Heartbeat Bill” Wednesday that bans abortion after a fetus’ heartbeat can be heard — on average around six weeks into a pregnancy. The bill has no exception for cases of rape, incest, fetal abnormalities, or the health of the pregnant woman.
The bill was tacked on at the last minute to another bill addressing child abuse. It was approved in the Republican-dominated state House and Senate, and will now move on to Republican and anti-abortion Governor John Kasich’s desk. He will sign or veto it within the next 10 days.
“A hallmark of lame duck” — a term used to describe sessions of lawmakers that sit between when elections are over and the new lawmakers take office — “is a flood of bills, including bills inside of bills, and we will closely examine everything we receive,” said Kasich press secretary, Emmalee Kalmbach.
The American Civil Liberties Union has said that they would challenge the bill in court should it become law.
Many women do not know they are pregnant until they have missed two periods, which can often be around eight weeks. Others may find out before the six-week mark, but might still be unable to get an abortion in time because there are a lack of clinics in Ohio and state laws require women wait 24 hours between an informational appointment about abortion and having the procedure done.

This is devastating.
Recently I went to my neighborhood dry cleaner and said, “Bobby, I love your beard and I love this place. Can I bring a friend with a camera, a buncha gear and a pink jumpsuit and record some music in the back by the washing machines?”
Bobby was like, “Hon, yes. I just gotta turn off the steam press and the doorbell.”
And so, nestled deep within the peaceful blues of Swan Cleaners’ dry cleaning equipment, I performed my song “Hit, Run” to share with you. I hope you like it

Summer Touring Season Has Begun // Day 1: Cincinnati
When I first found out we had been offered the direct support slot on the twentyonepilots summer tour, it was about 3:30am in Europe where the guys were currently on tour (and probably asleep). I was wrong, Paul was awake, and we celebrated across continents via e-mail. It’s one of those moments as a manager, where all the nuances of the business strip away and you’re just a music fan again.
Getting an opportunity to tag along for the incredible journey Tyler and Josh are on is such an honor. The culture and relationship they’ve built with their fans is something every musician aims for and they are writing the modern book on it. I’m glad we are all here to soak up every ounce.
And so it begins! The first night of tour went off smoother than any of us could hope and the guys’ set was incredible. Seeing the new songs transition from tiny rooms [helloooo Baby’s All Right], to arenas has been incredible. They are constantly evolving, updating their sound and last night was no different. Their performance of Disero’s Monument Remix gives the song a new life and its so cool to see everyone’s reaction to it: simultaneous recognition and surprise.

I have been laughing for 5 minutes straight.
introducing: Photocomfort
You wouldn’t necessarily expect for a city to Boston to deliver a major pop tune, but hold your horses and say hello to Photocomfort. Not Love fits right between that high-pitched semi-quirky pop from CHVRCHES and Alex Winston, which makes it very easy to fall in love with it on first play because that basically makes it amazing. It hits hard but then again it does not: you feel the bass pulsing in the back even though it’s all ‘pretty synths’ up front - you just wait for the chorus though, where Justine (the one with the long hair) goes wild on you vocal-wise. Quite the debut, if you ask us.
Veronika Gilková: Intuitive Photography Thick smoke, soft breeze, rippled water. For Veronika Gilková, these elements deserve a touch of visual magic. In this interview, she talks about culling nature-based images with intuition and quiet wonder. http://bit.ly/1Q7SXfK
Shaky, but I believe there are better things for me.
"The most important managers are not there just to take their 20% cut and damn the consequences. At a certain point in their career, when they have achieved the success they and their manager have worked for, artists become surrounded by fawning yes-people keen to keep the money machine in overdrive at all times. And those fawning yes-people have a vested interest in making sure those who might get in their way are sidelined. Simultaneously, the artist’s judgment is liable to decline exponentially as their self-obsession races into the stratosphere. It is very easy to get caught up in the hysteria and think the success will never end."
