Publisher, essayist, comics writer and all-around bon vivant RJ Casey joins Sam and Marnie in a discussion about learning about art (and liiiiife) through writing and thinking critically that launches from RJ's weekly art essay project, “I Like That.” Also in this episode: feeling heavy on safari, the pleasures of finding new work, challenging ourselves to break out of ruts, and unfinished fishing cannons.

This weekend is the Chicago Alternative Comics Expo at the Center on Halsted, and Image Plus Text will be well represented! Sam will be exhibiting all weekend at table 70A, and participating in the panel “The Golden Age(s) of Comics” with Jillian Tamaki and Dash Shaw on Saturday at 11:30. Marnie is one of the organizers of CAKE and will be running around making sure the exhibitors and attendees have a damn amazing time. Previous guests Kevin Czapiewski (I+T episode 3 / CAKE table 26A) and Dawson Walker (I+T episode 5 / CAKE table 68 A) will be there too!
