I made this painting for my mother’s birthday, inspired by the swirling floral aesthetics she likes. I used a photo of orchids as a loose reference, & I’m surprised at how much I love this painting! Excited to continue allowing myself more mess and less definition, more color straight out of the tube, and more playfulness! 😽🌟

My first foray into frame making! Re-purposed honey bee hive frame, complete with wax and cute little bee tunnels. I also walnut dyed cotton and assembled the floating matte with re-purposed plywood backing.
