A mini bamboo forest
Reminds me when I did this Jaunary with a bamboo from my work in O-S, Japan's 2013 Year of Summer.
Although I used was Bambusa vulgaris ‘Vittata’, and my cousin who has a wife who is Japanese who is older than him although he's an adult when I let him show her my artwork online since she unfortunately does not used social media regularly. I did it for consultation if the Japanese aspects of my work if it's accurate and my cousin gave me a list of things she said for example regarding the bamboo.
Tagalog x English = Taglish
"Takenoko" yung bamboo background is very very different and difficult to manage, kasi pag napabayaan pwedeng mag grow inside home and break the house walls and everything. Much more recommended if ginamit yung "Takegaki" > Bamboo wall.

Although I explain the reasoning to him to tell her that:
The reason for why I did the Bambusa vulgaris ‘Vittata’: With its striking yellow-striped green foliage, this hardy bamboo variety adds an exotic touch to any poolside. It creates a sense of privacy without taking up too much space in your narrow garden.
The additional to that if it exists in Japan so here's the answer:
Bambusa vulgaris is cultivated in Japan, and is known as the "Kimmei" cultivar. Bambusa vulgaris is a common bamboo that is cultivated around the world, and is generally found in East, Southeast, and South Asia.

Although thanks for the suggestion of Takegaki
Unfortunately the link for the source might be broken now but I'm glad I saved it.
Here's the full conversation online with my cousin including his Japanese wife's input in my work in Jan 6, 2025
Tagalog x English = Taglish, I decided to instead translated it to English for people to easily understand the post.
hi @@@ good evening sorry just now because Sachiko and I just finished our first day back to work and studies for me so really busy.
I showed it to Sachiko again with a more detailed explanation and she also had some thoughts. If the artwork is accurate in Japanese home or like a fictional theme. Because she saw it first and knows that there are things that are not usually in a Japanese home or if the artwork is from a foreigner.
She said "you should cherish this artwork because I know how the real house looks like and culture and if you want more correctly I can teach you but if you want to cherish these things and it's really unique and original and it's nice. I can't deny this artwork. And I appreciate your efforts of reseaching and hardwork."
It's quite long so bear with me hahaha and Sachiko she grew up on a very different life so she really can't deny and also she can only say from her experience.
1. The butler and maid, their costumes are not usually in Japanese homes and if the family is really higher position like emperor or company CEO who has maids.
usually wearing Kimono or Casual semi formal wear
2. The refrigerator is usually used only in "Izakaya" (Japanese bar), or restaurant kaya hindi sya usually inside the home.
3. They also don't have pools in every household in Japan, if something has to change. The one he recommends the most is Pond with Koi fish "Ikegaki"
4. Military uniform wearing inside the home is for American culture, in Japan since Sachiko's father and mother is from military. After going home remove clothes and wear some casual wear.
5. The "Amadoi". the design is good but much more recommended if something like "Chain Amadoi" was much more popular because back then they didn't know how to make a pipeline for rain.
6. "Takenoko" bamboo background is very very different and difficult to manage, because if neglected it can grow inside the home and break the house walls and everything. Much more recommended if "Takegaki" > Bamboo wall is used.
7. The hanging potted plant is a very very sensitive plant that is usually indoor because too much sunlight will kill it. (but your other explanation on the deviant art doesn't really know much, she's just speaking from experience because she also worked as a flower shop employee)
8. The roof design is very good 👍
9. The carpet has a meaning in the design which means "long life and health" so when stepped on as a carpet it is quite rude and usually used in design to rice bowls or small designs inside the house ex: pillow case
10. The drinks usually in tourist places only.
+ Please don't take it as rude or denying everything but she really appreciates your art and you should keep it. She's just happy for this artwork and she's there to help you if you have questions in Japanese culture. That's all be careful always! And happy new year!
Chain Amadoi
Japan's Garden recentlt
Ideal or really really back then Japan's garden
My response after thanking him and told him to tell Sachiko that I appreciate the info she gave him to me.

Hello @@@, can you and Sachiko answer when you have time because I also have some things to do at home and personally. If you are okay and have time and sorry for the inconvenience.
1. For the maid and butler I based here on Japan Butler Association for the rich people services. Which is why I based the outfit of the butler.https://thebutler.jp/en/butler-list.html
2. Ok that's interesting, but this is the only Japanese refrigerators of Fujidenzo only show up in google
3.Actually I based it on Japanese homes luxurious and have swimming pools.
Examples
Japanese Villas
4. For me since I'm going to add context while I do understand the issue surrounding the clothes inside the house, unfortunately I haven't add this in Deviant art description so for Osamu who wears that as he got home as his wife wants him to remove his clothes but he didn't listen as he and his son immediately start playing with shooting water guns with each other despite his wife's request. Although it's interesting to see that Sachiko's parents are from the military.
5. Ok I'll see.
6. The reason for why I did the Bambusa vulgaris ‘Vittata’: With its striking yellow-striped green foliage, this hardy bamboo variety adds an exotic touch to any poolside. 7. As for Kokedama, is designed by Sayuri, Osamu's wife, to make her kodekama stand out in the middle of the house as part of the design, from beneath the moss ball was the white table where the Japanese Lotus was inside the water glass vase, bec it is also perfect for outdoors and it blooms in Mid-July to mid-August, and sometimes early September. Bc the Japanese Lotus is meant for outdoors but since Sachiko who has experience as a flower employee, I'll analyze it more but I understand her concern.
8. Thanks
9. Interesting info
10. Actually the drinks are meant to be for the family inside the house, most especially their favorite drinks.
My cousin's response in March 24, 2025
Hi good evening yeah your artwork is okay @@@ and thank you for considering her thoughts too she said all in all it says that Japanese butlers have it but it's a very rare case, and for the refrigerator search up this "冷冷冷" since usually for more specific you really need Japanese kanji to use it then the house and the bamboo are also rare cases but that's it all in all your work is understandable but if you're actually making an art that is very accurate then do some research and all but the big tip is Japan homes if you want very accurate as in like "grew up in Japan" kind of vibes is that keep it simple and not too over the top.
But all in all it depends on your work if you want to keep it fictional or very realistically accurate.
Don't worry @@@ all goods and we are looking forward to your new projects
My response
Thanks I will consider this.
But @@@ does Sachiko have FB or messenger?
My cousin's response
No sorry Sachiko doesn't use Social Media.
My response
Ah ok thanks.
"冷蔵庫" - "refrigerator"
I will update the design of the house and characters just in case my project gets greenlit in the future.
